AUTHOR’S POV
Lykos scanned the horizon, watching the coastline fade into a thin line against the vast ocean. They had been sailing for quite some time, the boat's rhythmic rise and fall drawing him into deep concentration.
But then his compass beeped, and he realized they had arrived at the destination. "Lanzo," he said, breaking the silence between them. "Stop the boat!" Lanzo looked at him, concern in his eyes as he realized how far out they were, but he complied without question.
He turned off the engine, and the boat came to a gentle halt, bobbing softly on the waves. Reaching for his diving suit, Lanzo prepared to join Lykos in the water, but Lykos quickly raised a hand to stop him.
“Don’t,” Lykos said. "It is best if someone remains on the boat."
