AT ZOE’S HOUSE
Zoe took a deep breath and, with a final glance at the trident wrapped in the sheet, reached out to unlock the door, pulling it open in one swift motion.
Linda nearly stumbled inside, her face flushed and her breathing labored, as if she were fleeing for her life. Zoe’s eyes widened in shock as she took in the sight of Linda, disheveled and terrified.
“What’s going on?” Zoe demanded, her voice laced with urgency.
“She threatened me!” Linda blurted out, her words coming out in a rush and Zoe began to ask who had threatened her, but her words froze in her throat at Linda’s next revelation.
"Graves... she wants me to kill you," Linda exclaimed. “She said if I don’t do it, someone else will.”
