TO THE FARTHEST

A very sad looking woman in a worn-out dress, all dirty and tired but not too old, her eyes filled with fear moved closer to me it was all deserted and dusty around but I could see her clearly, she leaned closer and closer with every blink of mine and whispered "Escape from here, you are trapped, go as soon as possible, leave this hell forever and...." she moved even closer to my face and looked straight into my eyes and I could see her eyes sparkle. "Wake up" suddenly she shouted. I could feel a sudden cool breeze. Then it was snowing out of nowhere I started shivering and hugged myself. "What ??" I asked in surprise. I soon opened my eyes and saw dad standing next to my bed holding a cup of coffee. He looked very annoyed. "I have been calling you for so long. Now I'll go to the kitchen, will heat this coffee and will have to bring again ya?" he raised an eyebrow at me. "Sorry, dad this won't happen again." I sat on my bed legs crossed and resting my head on my hands. "You are grown up Laisy. You must learn to wake up yourself and help me at times. You need to follow a sleep clock." I could see he was more irritated than usual. I don't know why but I always make my dad call me for a long time to wake myself up. I looked out of the window as usual and that is the first thing I always do. My bedroom was warm but outside it was all covered with snow. Yesterday it was snowing so bad at night and today it was just a calm wonderful view. I really wanted to go out and play with snow or is it that I wanted to go back to my childhood where I could spend some more time with my mom. Suddenly memories of my mom filled my mind, I loved her a lot and I really wanted to talk to her. Even though I could spend only 7 years with her. So I neither have got that good memory of her either. During winter I remember playing outside in the snow with her and dad always calling out to us to get back into the house. Tears filled my eyes and my vision was blurred. Clearing all those memories away I tried to enjoy the beauty of mother nature. I was about to open the window when my dad came into my room with hot coffee and shouted "Please no, I really don't want you to fall ill. It's too cold out there." I was about to turn and walk along with my dad downstairs to the kitchen when from nowhere the thought about the women in my dream popped up in my mind and then it struck me. Oh, she didn't look like one of us, she looked different like another creature but so similar to us. Who could she be?? I showered and pulled out my orange uniform. I went downstairs to the hall full dressed and hair tired into a beautiful neat bun. My dad has a wide smile on his face whenever he sees me in my uniform. He says that it makes him so proud and I look somewhere like my mom. I am happy too whenever I hear that. "Isn't your final exam today? I hope there will be good news in a week when results get announced." dad asked hoping I to say yes. "I have no idea dad, the exam will probably be good and the whole year my ranking went good. I'm sure trainers (teachers) will grade me accordingly but Mains (higher officials) are always unpredictable. They don't consider anything else if practical went bad and they don't care about theory." I said knowing he does find something to calm me and say not to worry. "Hmmm..... Mains won't make many issues, why would they do that? Trainers know more about you all and if they say, Mains will be forced to listen to them" he said thoughtfully. "Today is a very important day Laisy, today according to your grades you will be given posts (positions) in the research institute and if you can manage to be assistant Main of the mission center then you do get the position where your mom started from and you too would get the same white uniform (high graded people wear it and its a pride and luck to own it) which she had and which millions wish to have. I wish to see you in that uniform and that was your mom's last wish too" he looked away from me so that I won't be able to see his eyes fill with tears. He misses her a lot. "I know dad, I will do my best but I really worry what would Main Gust (the official who holds the highest position in the research center and the one whose words are considered final) say." I noticed my dad look annoyed the moment he heard that name and he always does from the time I remember. "I wonder how can he be so evil. I never had any good feelings about that guy ever. Your mom was the one who considered him a great friend and trusted him. She should never have done that." he said. I knew that my dad didn't like him but he never told me the reason nor do I know how my mom died. Was it between any mission?
