Chapter 16

920 Words
It was a cool outback tonight, and there was what seemed to be a very perfect energy present. Nothing was said for a while as the couple set out back on their patio looking up at the stars, becoming one with the universe. Nothing new for the two of them really. People encounter some of the greatest spectacles performing such activities. Bill nor Sandra had anything to say after a long day's work. Followed by a pleasurable mill. It had been a perfect year again, security through the roof and plenty of work for the two of them, as their lives flowed as perfectly as possible. 7 years of development and growth within all they were a part of. The smell of the grill materials on their breath as they grew closer and closer every night. Living their perfect life. Contentment within the relationship couldn't be any greater. Nonstop service and servitude between the two of them. The wind carried with it a molecule of the smell of intense sedar. Instantly reminding them of their location in life but also on the map. Just the right time of the year brought with it outdoor life and the smell of the wilderness as well. A lovely night? Bill asked in a rather balanced manner. Sort of surrounded by intense happiness. The couple embraced within the longtermness of their minds, being complete as one once again. The following weeks and years would be the ultimate, the greatest time they could ever pray for. And as it has been looking, it was going in their favor. They could see the night sky so perfectly from their position, as they lay there in their hammock, digesting away an evening of delight. They begin to comment on the dinner and wine. They both had enjoyed a few glasses of wine and were feeling rather relaxed and joyful by this time. They begin to remember the vacations they had taken over the past few years. Remembering the good times and the bad. Each detail about the past brings up newer and newer details that only contributed to the night in the most perfect way. The past had been good to them and for them. Their love had only grown stronger and stronger over the years. The future was a sure happy place for them, and all who they influenced were apart of something great. At night time, their home seemed to be in the heart of the wildlife and every now and again they could see large night-dwelling birds resting on the lower branches of the trees surrounding their home. It was quite the perfect contrast to the intense pine and cedar odors that are a normal occurrence when they step out back. Of course the wildlife and the smells, has had plenty of compliments from both of them. The following morning brought forth wonderful sounds ans once again a rage of wonderful smells that usually screamed coffee. They had hunkered down into the hammock, pulled the covers up over there head and before they knew it, they had fallen completely asleep. They arose the next morning to the wind as it howled through the trees, not surprised about falling asleep, due to the fact that during the right time of the year they often times do fall asleep outside. They woke up just in time, in their opinion, there was what appeared to be a storm brewing for them just beyond the hills. Soon after they made their way inside for their early morning coffee, their opinion turned out to be fact. Soon after settling in for the morning, it started to rain. A little rain never hurt anyone, Bill said to Sandra in response to what she was saying. She decides that in the middle of the storm that it would be a good idea to finish up shopping and gathering supplies from town. The spontaneity of these moments kelp their heart strong, their mind fresh and their relationship renewed. By the time they make it back to their car from shopping, they are soaked and wet. That was fine to both of them, they didn't mind at all, they actually enjoyed playing in the rain sometimes. After they got all the supplies loaded up into the vehicle, they stand there in the rain for a minute simply staring at each other. By this time, the rain had increased and what was at first a light shower had turned into a downpour. While inside the marketplace the rain picked up quite a lot, enough to convince them that there was no reason to speed up or run back to their vehicle. After they loaded all the supplies up, they took a moment to look at each other in silence. The scene was not quite romantic, nor was it content. They could sense their older years were coming slowly but surely. They watched the rain as it would run down their faces and drip towards the ground. The sound of bypassing motorists and their tires could be heard all around them. The sounds of static as the tires splashed across the wet pavement, put them into a state of trance as they stared deeply into each other's eyes. The sounds of the city surrounding them came into the foreground of their consciousness after a few minutes of staring at each other in the rain. Almost like the moment they were sharing had come to a close and the world around them came back into existence.
