“What was the goddess doing here?”
I asked my sister and brother-in-law.
“I don't know. That was a brazen move, even for her.”
Fayly answered as she sat down on Ikelos’s lap.
“She came for me. She wanted the baby to bring back Silas but the moon goddess took him, so she wanted me instead.”
Amelia's bottom lip trembled as she spoke.
“Hey everything is ok, come here.”
I pulled her into my arms, wrapping them around her tightly.
“She said he is going to lead her army into war. She needs me for that. She’s going to come back, Hayden.”
“I will be right here protecting you, Amelia. She will not lay a finger on you whilst I still have breath in my lungs.” Ikelos said.
“Same here.” Fayly declared.
“And here.”
“Same.”
