CHAPTER 4
Lucas walked down the streets of the city, only to face ridicule and disgrace. As he passed through the streets of the Blood Moon kingdom, people around yelled at him, the complete opposite of what had happened when they were entering the kingdom. People threw insultive words at him, some threw pebbles, some threw rotten fruits at him, while others just looked at him with disdainful eyes.
It was a commotion, that was just to show how dissatisfied and angry people were with him. This wasn’t a parade. As a matter of fact, some people wanted him dead, but no one dared to shoot arrows or anything dangerous. No matter how evil they thought him to be, he was still an Alpha… a very powerful one at that.
Aurora walked through the streets, running an errand. She was humming a song in her mind, since she didn’t have a voice to sing she could only enjoy the melody in her head. She carried a basket filled with ingredients and groceries for the kitchen. However, she noticed a group of people gathered afar.
‘What’s going on?’ She thought and inched closer to the crowd. She noticed the dissatisfied and ugly looks on their faces and this even piqued her curiosity even more. She struggled to get past the crowd and when she finally arrived at the front of the crowd, she found him again.
She gasped in her mind as she saw all the rotten fruits and all the pebbles being thrown at him. If everyone else wanted him dead, she felt pity for him. She had this sort of compassion for him… one that she couldn’t explain.
‘What is wrong with me,’ she scolded herself in her mind, ‘He’s a killer—a rogue Alpha and a criminal to the Kingdom. I should hate him but I… NO. NO NO NO!’ She exclaimed in her mind as she shook her head furiously and cleared every thought of Lucas from her mind. She opened her eyes and they met with the silvery eyes of the Rogue Alpha. Lucas stared at her as he walked and he felt things that he didn’t expect to feel.
He smirked and Aurora quickly turned her face away, lest people call them accomplices. However, she was tempted to turn her face back and face him. She slowly looked at him again and she felt drawn to him. She couldn’t bear it any longer and she was quite aware that if she stayed there any longer, she might end up doing something that she might regret for the rest of her life.
‘I need to leave this place quickly.’ She thought and turned to run in the opposite direction. She kept running until she completely lost sight of him. After this, she heaved a deep sigh of relief before assessing her surroundings. She noticed that she had run directly to her place of work… the castle gate. Already knowing her, the guards allowed her passage.
She walked through the castle gates with a turbulent mind. She was still troubled about the strange feeling she’s been having since that first time she saw him. For it to be enough to make her wet, it was very strong. She was still a Virgo, and one who had never felt that kind of bodily pleasure before.
She walked into the kitchen absent minded and one of the maids saw her.
“Oh. You’re here, Aurora.” The maid said but Aurora didn’t pay any attention to her at all. She was surprised and she called out to her again before she answered.
“What’s wrong with you? You seem deep in thought.” The maid asked. She was like a friend to Aurora, and one of the few who didn’t discriminate against her because of her ‘dumbness’. Aurora made a few hand signs which signifies that, ‘It’s nothing. I’m fine.’ The maid raised a brow at her and turned her face to the side slightly while her eyes were still on her.
“Are you sure about that? You seem carried away.” She said with a concerned tone. Aurora smiled and nodded. Seeing that she couldn’t get anything out of this beauty, she decided to give it up and relayed the message requested of her.
“Ok. I was just looking for you actually. Alpha Jayden demands your presence immediately.” She relayed. Aurora’s eyes opened widely and her mouth dropped.
‘WHAT!’ she exclaimed in her mind, ‘Why would the Alpha supreme of this kingdom be looking for me?’ She wondered. As if the maid had read her mind, she replied.
“I don’t know why, so don't bother asking me why he wants to see you. All I know is that he wants to see you.” She relayed and walked past Aurora, “Now if you would excuse me, I have something important I need to get to. See you later dear.” She said and left the scene. Aurora was still surprised.
‘I wonder what Alpha Jayden would need me for? There are basically lots of Alphas at his disposal. Wait… maybe he needs a female to do the mission… but there are still female Alphas in the pack too.’ Lots of thoughts flew through her mind but nevertheless, she went to the Alpha Supreme’s office.
Meanwhile, in Jayden’s office, there were about five wolves there. They all argued with Jayden about his choice for this dangerous mission. Jayden might be an Alpha Supreme, the other Alphas too were Alpha Supreme candidates and if Jayden were to pass away, one of them would take his position.
“Are you sure about this, Alpha Jayden? She’s just a mute Beta.” One of the Alphas apprehended, “We shall need an Alpha to do this type of mission and we have them. Why pick this particular maid?” Jayden calmly rested his shoulders on the table and contemplated on the issue further.
“Hmm. This kind of mission isn’t one that requires skills. Besides, Aurora’s dumbness and her skills as a maid is what makes her the best choice.” He was convinced. Most of them accepted the decision, half of which didn’t care whatever decision was made and only followed Alpha Jayden’s orders, while the other half actually saw his decision as logical.
While they were still on this, they heard a knock on the door and given the go-ahead, a slender figure with white hair and nice curves walked in shyly.
(You went for me, Alpha Jayden.) she said with her hand signs and bowed. Jayden smiled and waved for her to leave up her torso.
“Good to have you here with us, Aurora.”
