Sarah's Journey to Love

 KAREN’S POV

            I really wish Sarah would have listened do us, or Evan last night, now she is going to be cold and sad, and start pushing him away. I hate when she is like this if she would of gave him a chance, she would have found out that yes, Isabella did try to have s*x with him yesterday, but he turns her down. When we got to the shop, he was already mad. From the looks of it he was in a fight with someone. I am guessing that is why he didn’t go to school yesterday. Mark was at the shop when we got there. When we asked where Evan was, he told us not to ask him about what happened to him. So, we didn’t we did however tell him about what happened at school. We left out the part were Sarah cried she would hate for us to tell him that she would hate for anyone to know that she cried. Sarah wasn’t like most people she only let very few people into her life and after her sister died, she didn’t let anyone into her life, Evan was the first guy she ever started to get close to, and was the first person in a long time she started letting in. I knew what was going to happen. My friend was going to turn dark and cold to everyone, and everyone meant Tina and myself.

            “Karen do you want me to give you a ride home?” Sarah asked me to bring me back from my thoughts. I look at her and her eyes are dark brown, and her words come out slightly cold.

            “No, thanks I thought I would hang out a around here for a little, Tina and I have a project that we are going on for a class, and we need to come with and an idea for it, and afterwards she is going to take me to pick up my car.” She doesn’t say much, just nods. We all get ready for our day when we hear Tina’s dad calling us down to eat breakfast. We eat without really talking. Once we are done eating, we do the dishes and Sarah grabs her stuff and leaves.

            Tina’s dad looks at us, drinking his coffee. “Do you guys want to tell me what is going on with Sarah?”

            Tina looks down and picks up her coffee milk and shrugs. I roll my eyes, Tina’s dad has known Sarah and I for almost our whole lives, he was like a second father to us both and always easy to talk to I don’t really see the point in lie to him or keeping anything from him, he always finds everything out anyways. He also knows a lot about what Sarah has gone through, plus he has always said that he has three daughters not just one.

            “She met a guy, she started to like him, and was starting to kind of let him, but then Isabella,” I say her name rolling my eyes, “said some lies about him about how she had s*x with him, and she believed her, and wouldn’t give him the time of day when he went to go talk to her yesterday.”

            He sat there drinking his coffee, nodding taking everything in. I sometimes feel bad for him, being a single dad, he wasn’t to deal with everything and over the years he has gotten very good with talking like this. After a few minutes he puts his coffee down.

“What are you girls going to do about it?”

            Tina looks over at me giving me a disapproving look, shaking her head. “Nothing we tried to get her to talk to him and tell her that it wasn’t true. She said she didn’t want anything to do with him and didn’t want to talk about him, so we are going to leave it alone.”

            He looks at her a nods, he turns to me waiting for me to say something. I look down at the table not wanting to meet Tina’s eyes I know that she wants to leave it alone, but I can’t for the first time in forever, Sarah was being herself with someone other than us, she was starting to open up to someone I don’t want that to stop.

            “I want to go talk to Evan and see if I can get him to try and talk to her again, maybe if she sees that he isn’t going to just walk away she will hear him out.” I say with a shrug.

            He sits there again taking in what we said. “So, you both have different ideas, but Tina would it be a bad thing for Karen to talk to him again and see if they can get everything worked out? I mean this is Sarah we are talking about and we all know how she and we know how hard it is for her to let people in. If things don’t get worked out, she may shut down all together and push everyone away, she may never let anyone in again, or worse both and we could all lose her.”

            We both sat there thinking about it and my mind has made us I am going to talk to Evan again I am going to try and get everything worked out, I can’t risk losing her and I can’t risk her being a lone for the rest of her life.

            “I guess I could go and talk to Sarah later after we are done with work, maybe giving her a little more time to cool off will help.” Tina shrugs.

            After talking a little more with her dad, Tina take me to get my car from the shop and tells me that she will call me later after she talks to Sarah.

I walk into the shop but only see Mark, he is working on a car.

            “Hey Mark, how is it going?”

            He looks up, “Hey it’s going, you here for your car?”

            “Yeah plus I wanted to talk to Evan, give him some information on Sarah and see if he is willing to talk to her again.” I shrug.

            “He went to pick up some parts, he didn’t really want to be around people, so I am talking it went back and that’s why he came back in a worse mood?”

            “Yeah I guess Sarah pretty much closed the door in his face and wasn’t very nice.”

            He nods, looks at the ground and sighs. He tells me to follow him to a table and we sit down and talk. He tells me that Evan and him have known each other for a few years. That he has known his family for a while and he told me that Evan’s home life is not the greatest, and something happened which is why he was already in a bad mood yesterday when we came in.

            “Look I know that Evan was starting to like Sarah, but he is the kind of person that if he keeps getting pushed away, he will walk away. He is out of his zone with Sarah she not the normal type of girl he goes after or dates. But I will try you that if she keeps pushing away, he will walk away. I will talk to him, I will see I can get him to try again, but you guys have to talk to Sarah.”

I nod and tell him thanks, and that Tina is planning on talking to her today that it would be best if he talks to her tomorrow. I told him that I really hope that everything gets worked out for him.
