Blaine’s POV
It’s been a total of 4 years since I’ve seen or even heard from my Kierra. I’m lucky that running a pack keeps me busy so I never have much time to dwell on it all the time. But I can’t help but feel like apart of me is missing and time just keeps going by.
It doesn’t help that these past few weeks have been extremely stressful. Rouges have been attacking all angles of our territory. I feel like they are testing us. Trying to find a weak spot, but why? I’ve doubled the guards around the borders trying to make sure they don’t come through. We’ve been lucky so far and no serious damage has been done, sadly though every time they try breach we try to capture them but either they escape or the minute we get close to catching them they freaken kill themselves with some suicide poison they keep in their damn mouth.
I woke up this morning restless, I’m not sure what’s going on but I feel like somethings going to happen today. Mind linking the pack making sure everyone stays indoors and making sure the patrol is on red alert. One thing I’ve always trusted was my gut, and it was telling me that I needed to be ready. I gather my beta and delt (Johnny and Jackson).
“I can feel it to.” Jackson says.
“Dude I have freaken goosebumps,” Johnny shivers in a nervously.
“We’ll be ready for whatever happens,” I tell them. They both nod.
The day drags on. Looking up to see the sun go down my heart stops for a minute when I hear a howl, and then I hear more howls surroundings us. It’s time I tell myself.
“Everyone get ready!!!!” I yell.
Suddenly bursting through the woods are about 30 wolves. Johnny has already shifted into his brown wolf and starts to lead a group of 15 warriors. I’m grateful to have large pack with many excellent fighters. I look to make sure the rest of the pack staying in position. Everyone has a role to play. We can’t stay to distracted on one part of the land, if one place is hit they might try to hit us again somewhere else thinking we aren’t paying attention.
Sure enough I see another group coming from the other side. What they don’t know is that I’m prepared for it. I see a grey wolf run towards them with 20 warriors on his tail. Jackson is a pretty fierce delta. If I’d let him he would try to take them down on his own. Honestly I think he could do it. One thing I’ll never do is underestimate him.
Blood is everywhere within minutes of the first attack. Johnny is hold his own and so is Jackson. I stand back with the rest of the warriors waiting. I can tell everyone is itching to fight and help there fellow pack member, even I am. We need to keep waiting though until the right time.
Suddenly I see a huge black wolf with red eyes emerge from the woods with more wolves running past him. I can tell he’s the leader. Finally I shift into my blonde wolf and howl running straight towards the black wolf. I hope he’s ready to die today. No one attacks my pack and gets away with it.
