Chapter 16

Kierra POV

The day before the attack.

“Can’t believe I’m back in Texas.” I sigh.

“Are you nervous? I know it’s been awhile since you've been back.” Says Milly.

“Yea, 4 years. “ I say softly.

After Alaska Sierra got intel that the rouge was coming back to finish some unfinished business in Texas. I remember freaking out thinking of my old pack, I mean the people I still love that are alive live there. We got the next plane out and headed that way.

We asked the lackey what he meant by unfinished business and he tried to be tough I’ll give him that, but no one is no match for Sierra. He caved saying that the rouge king was wanting to take out 3 other strong packs. Apparently he’s been recruiting rouges on his travels building his army. Now we are back at my old pack because they have apparently made the list.

My fist clench. I refuse to loose anyone ever again. Once we get to Texas we get a hotel deciding to head to my old pack tomorrow. James and I went to our room and close the door behind us. As soon as the door closes I feel him hug me from behind.

“It’s going to be ok we will help them and make sure nothing happens. “ he whispers in my ear. I nod and turn around so I can hold him back.

Since we’ve decided to head to Texas I’ve been kind of pushing James away. Not purposely but for some reason I felt guilty, as if I was cheating. Could it because I was coming home to where my mate and I lived? Part of me didn’t really feel like that was the real reason.

While holding me I feel James kiss me neck. Letting out a soft moan he reacts by nibbling my ear. I’m turned on by that point. I look at him with hungry eyes and he appears to have the same look. Grabbing my ass and lifting me up I wrap my legs around him pressing g my lips against his fiercely. Suddenly he throw me on the bed. I’m extremely turned on now and looking at James now I can see he is to and the rest of the night He shows me just how much.

The next day we head to my old pack. We still have a couple hours drive. We probably won’t reach there till sunset. When we finally get close we get out of the car and start to walk into the woods. It’s about another 20 minutes away. I notice the sun going down as we start walking. I suddenly start to feel anxious. We suddenly hear several howls. We start to run in our human form. A few minutes go by and I hear a familiar howl. Next thing I know I’m shifting into my wolf.

Blaine’s POV

The fight has gotten bloody within the past few minutes. My pack is strong and I’m proud of that. These damn rouges just won’t stop coming though. It’s like damn hydra, the whole you kill one head and two replace it thing. While we fight I still see the giant black wolf stand in the same spot as earlier. He’s just watching with what appears to be a scary ass smile on his face. His wolf looked like he carried alpha blood in him. I only say that because of his size. I noticed he had scars everywhere including across his right eye. I’ve been trying to get to him but it’s been hard with all these damn wolves in my way.

Finally I break away and run towards him. The only way to stop this is to take him out. He seems to notice me. While he looks at me I see his wolf give me a statistic smile. Suddenly catching me by surprise a wolf slams in me before I can reach the rouge Alpha. I aim for the neck and instantly kill the wolf. When I look back the alpha is gone. What the hell? Where did he go? Suddenly a few more rouges show up and keep me distracted.

They really don’t play fair. I’m suddenly surrounded by 5, but I’m ready for them. One in from leaps to me and I leap forward catching off guard. He expected me to go back but I’m not stupid there are 2 wolves wait for me if I did that. I grab his neck and snap it. Dropping it I see the other rouges are pissed the all jump me at once. I hold my own for a minute but not without taking on some damaged. I snap another neck but while I do that just left me vulnerable for a second and that’s all they need. s**t I tell myself. This is it.

Suddenly I see a white flash attack the rouges. Before I could be shocked I took the opportunity of surprise that the white flash made to finish off the other rouge. The turned back to see a beautiful white wolf. The wolf looked at me and comes forward and nuzzled her head a against mine. I felt so calm for a minute as a nuzzle back and licked her.

I look back around a see my pack finishing off some rouges, the rest have retreat back to the woods. I see Kierra get behind a tree to shift and I do the same. Luckily we pretty much put extra bags of clothes around the property for occasions like this. Even though as wolves we are use to seeing each other naked. I throw a pair of blue basketball shorts on and come out. I see Kierra do the same. We stop and stare at each other the minute our eyes meet. How on either can someone even get more beautiful? Like seriously? It’s been 4 years but she still looks so breath taking. That dark long hair, her full lips, and those damn green eyes. She cut her hair. It’s just barely past her shoulders now. It looks good.

I find myself walking towards her. She doesn’t move. It’s like she’s in a trance staring at me. I’m mentally thrilled she’s checking me out. When I finally get her I start to hug her. The minute I touch her I feel this intense heat. My heart is pounding. She stiffens at first, and I can tell she feels it to. She starts to hug me back though.

“I missed you,” I whisper to her.

“I missed you to,” I hear her whisper back.
