sssssssh. do not disturb
I wasn't really ready to wake up but I just had to. I started with one eye. the whole place was dark. Confused, I sat up to wait for my eyes to adjust to the dark.
" Finally awake?"
I looked towards the voice. I could see her; a lady hugging her knees and backing me.
"yeah?", I said trying to keep at her face. there was no use, it was still dark.
"yeah?", she repeated, raising her head a bit but not looking back.
"Sorry. yes", I corrected. I didn't seem to recognize her shadow thought. I looked around. we we're literally in a room with a prison window and metal guard before a metal wall. Probably a door.... the only door.
"sorry to bother you um... lady, but how and why are we here?", I asked.
" You really are that weak", she muttered. I really wanted to remind her I could hear her, but it didn't seem like she didn't want me to hear it in the first place.
I sighed.
"ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to the ring"
there was a loud cheering from outside the metal wall.
"Today we have both sides from Nagode"
then they booed.
"On the right, we have... Victor and Elena"
then they booed again as the metal door rose. we walked into the colloseum where food was being thrown at us.
"Now now, save it for later", the announcer said, then he continued.
"And on the left we have Grunt"
Then the metal wall right opposite us rose. Groom where I was I could see some red eyes that were already above my head. But then the monster came out, growled then grew bigger. But Elena didn't seem worried.
"if you have a plan Elena I would like you to share", I said.
"you remember my name", she said.
"Not really, I heard it from the announcer, but we've got bigger problems now please".
Elena sighed
"pet it and it'll be good, it's your pet"
I didn't have time to think. I did exactly that then I watched the monster shrink to a dog, and get white. The entire crowd was watching this with us.
" This is not what I came for", someone shouted.
"Yh, where's the blood", someone else shouted and soon the whole place was booing and throwing things at us.
"release all monster", the announcer ordered.
“You already like the creature?”
I looked up. There was a lady there in the same white Greek gown, gold sandals, looking like an angel. Her black hair packed in a bun; innocent smile staring at me, but I didn’t trust those eyes.
“I’m sorry, who are you?” I asked.
“Don’t worry Victor, that’s not what’s important,” she smiled.
“How do you know my name?”
“Which name? Victor Michael?”
“Yes…. which other?”
“I’ll be going now,” she said.
“No, don’t go,” I said after her.
“But I’m right here,” Elena said, slowly landing on the floor. I looked back, the woman was gone. It seemed like she was there for only me.
“Yh, sorry for that …” I said trying to cover up. So which way do we go?”
“Just follow me.” Then she led the way. We went through the forest for a while. Not a while, for long. My legs were going numb, but I couldn’t let her know that because from the looks of things, she was going to haunt me with anything or everything. We eventually reached a stream. I felt like that was our stop for rest. I had already sighed and knelt on one knee to sit on the floor, but she walked right on the water and kept moving. I was quite surprised. She stopped. As soon as she turned back, I acted as if I knelt to pet Grunt, but she took one look at me and asked, you really could have just said so if you were tired.”
“Oh yea, I was supposed to ask the lady that wasn’t even tired so that once again, I could be marked weak,” I murmured sarcastically, laying emphasis on weakness.
“I don’t feel my legs remember. I can walk for days non-stop,” she replied, signaling her pet.
“You don’t feel your legs … can we please stop whatever is going on?”
Then the geara eagle thing landed on my shoulder and picked me up easily like I was feather of it or at least something as light.
“this thing’s …. sorry, Roger’s got super strength too?” I asked. I was really acting an illiterate.
“Every pet has super strength, stupid,” she replied.
Not like I expected the answer to come nicely but really, we literally just met. At least to me, we do. At a point in water, we stopped. Then the eagle started lowering me in the water. I got so scared a little, I mean, they were trying to drown me, and I asked, “um … what’s going on?” By that time, I was knee deep in water. Elena just ignored me and like a rational human being about to be murdered, I started to struggle for my life.
“Relax, it doesn’t hurt,” Elena said, her mocking smile on her face.
“Relax!” I shouted. “I should relax!!! You’re drowning m…’” then my mouth was in the water. That was it, time to die. I closed my eyes as I got completely covered in water, waiting for death to take me. I then felt Grunt slobber on my face.
“Open your eyes, stupid,’ Elena said. I opened my eyes. I was lain on the grass beside a waterfall. There were people everywhere going about their own business. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t crowded at all, well-spaced.
