Escape

“Uaah!!!" Drew gasped, waking up suddenly, it was all dark and he couldn't see a thing. He tried to get up, hitting his head on the roof of the trunk, he lay back. It took him some seconds before he realized he was in the trunk of a car. He turned his head sideways, feeling compressed, He could feel someone else with him in the trunk. “Hey! Tyrone!" He whispered, hitting the body, figuring it could only be Tyrone. He kept on hitting him and calling his name till Tyrone muttered something. He called out his name, this time almost shouting, this startled Tyrone out of his sleep, hitting his head on roof of the trunk as well.

“Ouch!" He exclaimed “Drew is that you?" He asked rubbing his head

“Who else could it be?!" Replied Drew sarcastically

“Are we in a trunk?" He asked

“No! We are on a ship heading home" Drew replied, being sarcastic again!

"Quite ironic how you decided to get funny when our lives are in danger. So what's the plan?" He asked.

“Maybe we should just punch open the trunk and make a run for it. We could get far before they come out and use the device" Drew explained

“I think they swapped our brain when we were asleep, making you the funny one and me the smart one. That's an awful plan! Sure we should punch open the trunk and jump, hopefully we won't get runover by a truck or get caught or worse get our heads popped by the device." He explained

“Do you have any other ideas?" Drew asked

“Nope. " He replied immediately “let's just go with yours, it's better than not trying anything and hopefully those things I just mentioned won't happen" said Tyrone

“Yeah, hopefully and since we don't know where we are going, we don't know if we can escape from there, so now will be a better time" Drew explained

“And beside, I don't here cars passing by....Alright, on the the count of three" Tyrone said ”1...2...3!" He counted as they both simultaneously punched the roof of the trunk open. The roof flew off. They squinted their eyes in reaction to the sunlight. They quickly jumped out of the trunk, as the car was braking to a stop. They fell, rolling on the tarred road upon landing. Luckily there was no car on the road. “Jump!" Tyrone said after regaining his balance. He was pointing straight ahead.

Drew looked at the direction he was pointing. He realized they were at the middle of a bridge and Tyrone was pointing towards the edge. They got up quickly and made for the edge. They ran as fast as they could. They were few steps away from the edge, when they heard the ultrasonic sound. They fell on their knees, holding their heads as they screamed in pain. Drew looked back and could see the men in suit approaching fast. He began to crawl to the edge, Tyrone followed suit. Upon seeing this, the men in suit increased their paced. They struggled as they crawled and shouted in pain. Their visions became blurry as they held the railings of the bridge. The men in suit started running towards them. They successfully pulled themselves up with the railing and climbed over, laying on top. Just a few steps away from laying their grip on them, they rolled over and fell into the water. "Damn it!" One of the men shouted.

Emily and Anna walked into the classroom along side other students. They sat down on their seats as they all waited for the teacher. Soon enough, the teacher, Miss Elaine walked in. “Good morning everyone!" She said smiling. scanning the class, she noticed two seats where empty. “I can see the Marshalls are not in class, does anyone know why?" She asked. The class glanced at the empty seats. No one responded to the teacher's question. “Well, if you can contact them, please do after this class to find out why they are not present" she concluded. “Well, let us begin immediately...open to page 33 everyone" she instructed.

Anna turned and faced Emily who was sitting behind her “Where are they?" She whispered

”I don't know!" Emily shrugged. She glanced at the empty seats again, wondering why they weren't in school.

Tyrone came out of the water breathing heavily. He crawled over to the spot where Drew was laying on the ground, close to the water, he crashed on the floor close to Drew who was still breathing heavily. “I can't believe that actually worked" he said with smiles escaping his lips as he brushed his hair back with his fingers.

“So that's them huh?" Drew asked

“Yup" Tyrone replied

“How did they find us?" Drew asked rubbing his eyes

“Maybe they were following us...or tracking us somehow" he replied

“Well, we'll worry about that later" Drew said standing up “For now, let's worry about how to get back to the ship first" he added as he turned and stared into the woods behind them.

They walked silently through the woods for a while, exhausted and thirsty. Soon enough they came out to the open road and saw a sign saying “Welcome to Greenville". Drew looked at the sign confused “They drove from midnight to morning and they were just a few meters outside town when we escaped? It doesn't make any sense" he said

“Who cares! Maybe they made some few stops along the way. Let's just be happy we are still in town" Tyrone replied.

They started walking along the road into town, hoping a car would pass soon and help them.

“So you and Anna!" Drew said

“So you and Tyrone, huh?" Emily said walking up to Anna at her locker. Adjusting her school bag

“I know right!" She said smiling, grabbing her book from the locker

“So is it just a fling or you want something more?" She asked

“So what are you gonna do when she comes asking for something more?" Drew asked

“I don't know yet and I don't know what it was to him. We were both pretty drunk" Anna replied to Emily

“I don't know, she was pretty drunk, maybe she won't read any meaning to it" he said to Drew

“Yeah, he looked pretty drunk" Emily said, watching Anna lock her locker

“And you pretended to be drunk" Drew said looking at Tyrone

He wanted to deny but decided it was of no use “Yeah..." He admitted “The alcohol here is terrible" he explained shrugging

“It isn't terrible, it's just that we have higher alcohol tolerance than humans" Drew explained

“Well, I guess we'll see how it plays out though" Tyrone concluded

“I guess we'll see how it plays out" Anna said, walking away from the locker alongside Emily. “What about you and Drew, you both were together all night" she asked

“Nothing much to tell, we just kissed" she replied shyly

“What!" Anna said excitedly “My girl is back in the game. Tell me everything" she said, placing her hand around Emily.

**ARCTURUS**

Thea sat in front of the computer, tensed up, she operated the computer hastily, glancing at the door occasionally. She disabled all the CCTV cameras in the citadel. She stood up immediately, picking up and wearing her backpack. She ran to door. Opening the door, she brought out her head slowly and look both ways to make sure no one was there. She came out and made for were the ships were stationed.

On getting to the ship, she paused and scanned the area, observing two guards, positioned at the two exit points. She hid behind the door leading to the room, thinking about how to get past them. She came up with an idea and rushed into the room, drawing the attention of the soldiers “The commander needs you, there's an attack in the throne room. Go now!" She said panting. The soldiers ran out of the room. She rushed to one of the ship, Inserted a code and the door of the ship split open. She sat down and was scanned facially, the machine beeped with approval “Welcome on board" Spiria said. She switched the ship to manual mode. She set course for planet Earth and then locked on to the location of the other ship on Earth. She handled the wheel of the ship and fired up out of the building.The automatic machine guns mounted at both ends of the building began firing at her. The system had no record of her intended flight, hence it was declared "unauthorized!". She began making effort to dodge the bullets. She hit a red button, creating a Portal and flew speedily into it and vanished.

**EARTH**

Emily arrived home, walking through the front door straight into the kitchen “Oh, Hi Mom" she said “You are home!" She added surprised.

“Yeah, I'm off duty" Melissa said cutting carrots and putting them into the pot that was on the gas “So how was school, made any new friends?" She asked

“Well...just two" she said opening the refrigerator

“Really? That's nice! who are they? anyone I know?" Melissa asked

“No. They are new in town, two brothers, Drew and Tyrone" she explained, taking out a bottle water

“Ooooh, boys huh... which amongst them is your boyfriend?" Melissa teased

“Mooooom!" she called shouted “I don't have a boyfriend, we've just been friends not too long ago and besides there's something strange about them" she said drinking from the bottle

”Cups! Darling, I always tell you. What do you mean strange" she asked

Dropping the bottle on the kitchen counter “It's like...they just came out of nowhere, there's something different about them...and they have this strange blue eyes, like abnormally strange" she explained

“Maybe they are aliens" Melissa joked

“I'm serious mom!" Said Emily

“Well, we encounter strange most days and maybe this is just one of those “First time for everything" situations and you might just see them as different because they brought new energy from wherever they came from" Melissa explained.

Anna walked into the house and went straight to the sitting room. She crashed into the couch. “Hi, long day at school? Alexa said.

Startled by Alexa, she sat up “Hey! Sorry I didn't see you sitting there...yeah it was exhausting" she replied “Is my Dad at home?" She asked

“Went out this morning and hasn't returned yet" Alexa replied

“So you've been at home alone since morning?" She asked surprised

“Yeah pretty much" Alexa replied shrugging.

“You must have been bored..." She said. “Well here's an idea, why don't you come with me to school tomorrow" Anna suggested excitedly

“Oh, I don't know" Alexa replied not sure if it was a good idea

“Come on, it'll be fun and you'll get to meet all my friends" she pressed on.

Alexa thought about it and decided it was better than sitting around all day “Alright, I guess it'll be fun" she agreed

”Yay!" Anna exclaimed “For now let me go watch off this stench" she said standing up. “And I love your hair color" she complimented before walking away.

“Finally!" Tyrone said as they walked into the ship. They fell on the floor of the ship and exhaled loudly. They lay there silently just staring at the roof, when they heard a beeping sound, they sat up instantly. The beeping continued loudly. Drew stood up and walked to the monitor. “What is it?" Tyrone asked coming up behind him.

Drew stared at the monitor intently “It's showing something in the atmosphere, it's coming down fast and I think it's coming down to our location" Drew explained

“What is it?" He asked

“I...I think it's one of our home ships" Drew said

“What?!" Tyrone shouted

They both ran out of the ship and gazed up at the sky. They soon started seeing something falling fast, as it got closer they could make it out as their ship and it didn't seem to be slowing down. They started to shift back, clearing the path that it seemed it was going to land. The ship got very close to the ground, slowing down, it continuously jerked before finally crashing on the ground. It was smoking badly. Tyrone and Drew ran to the ship, the door refused to open on its own, they tried forcing it open and soon succeeded. They walked inside, some parts were producing Sparks. They got to the pilot seat to look at who it was. “Thea!" They both said surprised upon seeing Thea who was still regaining herself as she was bleeding on one side of her head as a result of hitting her head on the wheel.
