Chapter One

804 Words
~June 30, 2012, ~ Veronica struggled fiercely against her chains but they would not yield to her strength. They were made to hold the strongest of vampires. Damn me and my young age. Vampires grow stronger with age or when they get blooded. Blooded is the same as a wolf's imprint when it comes to bonding for life. The imprint is when a werewolf's instinct chooses someone as theirs and they bond themselves to them for life. Once that happens there's no reversing it. Blooded is when a vampire drinks from someone while standing in the light of the full moon and when they do their body comes to life and they bond themselves to that person for life. They feed on their mate only. Never anyone else. My heart will never beat. Veronica wondered what her mama was doing back in Transylvania. Probably sobbing with grief. This is going to destroy Victoria Amora Desirous. After the death of her mate, she vowed to keep her daughter safe and now she was the slave of a cruel alpha. I'm sorry mama…  Veronica just wanted to find her uncle. Her father's identical twin. To live with a family member that did not revel in torturing innocent wolves. She also just wanted to see her father's face, even if it wasn't his…  I'm so stupid. Her papa would be so disappointed. Veronica, a Desirous-family known for enslaving wolves-now a slave to one. She has disgraced her family. I'm a failure. The door to her cage opened and the alpha grabbed her chain leash. The bastard made her where a damn collar and lingerie and forced her to crawl on her knees. He told her that her family did that to wolves they caught, so it was fitting that he does it to her. Sadly, that was true, but she never participated. And they didn't make them wear lingerie. "Come here my little pet." She crawled to him, dread seeping into her still heart. Soon she was inches from him, her face in front of his solid abs. His long fingers stroked through her hair and she shuddered with disgust. I hate you. She never wanted to hurt someone more than she did now. She wanted to make him bleed. To drain him dry. Her fangs ached to do so and Zacharias saw the look in her eyes. "I dare you pet." She looked down, ashamed that she was too afraid to do so. Shameful vampire. She was a disgrace to her kind. "You're a weak little thing aren't you?" She nodded. I'm weak. Helpless. Bloody tears fell from her eyes and Zacharias laughed. "Well, at least you're honest." Zacharias stood and yanked on her chain, pulling her forward. Zacharias led her into a dining room filled with the betas and alphas beneath Zacharias. They all glared at her and some cursed her. I'm not like the others. She's told Zacharias that before, but he didn't believe her. "Why would I believe a murderous leech?" "I am no killer. My fangs have never pierced flesh I swear." Zacharias seated himself at the head of the table and Veronica sat beside him. Her gaze never straying from the ground. The cruel words seized and all eyes were on Zacharias.  "Oh, don't stop on my behalf." I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. "What is your name?" Veronica looked up and met the warm gaze of a teen girl. She looked like a younger 5'4", girl version of Zacharias. She was seated to the right of Zacharias and kindness radiated off of her. "V-Veronica Val Desirous." She smiled at her. "I'm Stacy." "Stacy!" Her head snapped up and she stared at Zacharias with a hate-filled gaze. "How dare you speak to a vampire like....that?"  Stacy glared. "How dare you trap a child who looks as if she couldn't even harm a fly?"  "How do you know she's so harmless? All vampire females look harmless." Stacy looked toward some of the wolves. "Am I the only one who realizes how wrong this is?! Are you all this sick and twisted to condemn a girl who looks only 15 to this, because of what her family has done? What if she was the vampire that released Alpha Smith? What if she had shown kindness to the captive wolves?! Did any of you savages think of that?!" Their food was brought out, but everyone's attention was on the young, female alpha. "You are all barbaric wolves-" "ENOUGH!" Veronica flinched and shrank back from the enraged alpha. "Go, Stacy. Now."  She huffed and left the room, tossing Veronica one last warm gaze. How can someone like her be related to someone like...HIM. Stacy reminded Veronica of herself and she wondered how she knew about the escapes.
