Maria was writing her diary under the light of that table lamp. She was writing all about Solomon. who is this Solomon...? There is so much to say about Solomon. Solomon is Maria's heartthrob. Even her breath is only for Solomon. There is no other person on earth who understands her so much. There is no one else who has turned all her silences into words. Maria was a mute girl by birth. Maria's family, who were economically backward, did not treat her well. A good treatment sometimes made a difference in her. Her family didn't try to do that. And she was not allowed for proper education. Solomon was her friend since school days. As childhood progressed into adolescence and into young adulthood, her friend became a lover. So Solomon became her soul. He is a ray of hope in the harsh evening of her life. Solomon is a good football player. Awaiting selection for the state team. Through that he has to be good in life. And his Maria. The melody of her mumbles is enough for him to move on. In today's diary entry, Maria also writes about his football selection and their dreams. Maria is coming from a joint family including father, mother, elder brother, grandma, grandpa, two younger brothers, aunt, uncle and their children. Maria's father founds his earnings from agricultural works. Her mother is a housewife. uncle has no intention to work. Uncle and aunt spents their lives very happily along with maria's father. Her elder brother is studying in abroad with a scholarship. Her younger brothers are in class 10th. Totaly its very hard to meet the two ends of their life. Her grandma and grandpa always consider maria as a curse to this life. Her father and mother are very loving. But have no time to spend with maria. In Solomon's side, he has only his mother with him. She is working in a factory. Her ultimate aim is to see Solomon a successful man. She always prays for him. Solomon's marriage is her ultimate dream. She knew very well about Mariya. These are the facts about two families. Mariya is now going to sleep with lots of prayers in her mind. In the morning Mariya awaken by hearing loud voice of her mother. Maria notes about what is going outside. She understand that her mother is scolding somebody with bad words. she came outside. Her mother is scolding the person, he is none other than our hero Solomon. Maria tried to stop her mother from scolding. Solomon came to Mariya. "Mariya" I came this morning to tell you something important. My selection match will be next week itself. Received the notification yesterday. Hard practice will starts today itself.I will go to the city 2 days before the match. From tomorrow, the training will be held at the ground near the railway station. You must pray. Hearing this, Maria's mother said angrily. "There is no girl here to pray for an unemployed ball-kicker like you. Come here today but don't come here again". Solomon replied thus. "Mom, I'm sorry, I love football as much as I love Maria. Any loss of this will cost me my soul. So if I don't get next week's football selection, I'll never come to this yard again. It's my word". Her mother told Mariya that Solomon was gone. "Have you heard that if there is no football then he will not exist. You can forget him. He will never go to win anything. He will not get selection. He will not be nobody. He will not come here. You should understand your disability and live with it. You will not get any family life. If you get it by the grace of the Lord, it will be our luck. If not, we will be alive as long as we are alive. You will be looked after like gold. Your brothers will look after us. You are not a burden to us. Do not perish for someone who never has a job. He should be forgotten". Hearing her mother's words, Maria wanted to silently shed tears. She could not imagine life without Solomon. She only prayed for Solomon to get selected. She knows that if he doesn't get football selection, he will be without him. She also knows that if solomon doesn't get selection for football or if she can't participate in football, then solomon will no more. She began to pray inwardly that no danger would come to solomon.
