Chapter One: Encrypted Text
Sandra's phone buzzed ‘a text from an unknown number, which reads, ‘I know your little secrets’ followed by *winks* emoji. With her eyes glued on her phone, her hands shaking, Sandra's mind quickly flipped through the series of events that had occurred in the past few days. The sound of the door opening jolted her back to reality as her heart skipped a bit. She quickly looked over her shoulders, scanning the café, to see if she could find the sender, but the café was empty - just her and the bartender, whose eyes were fixed on her. Her face suddenly flushed with hotness as she stared back at him - wondering if he was the one who sent the test. The bartender gave her a fake smile and walked into the back room. Her heart started to beat rapidly, she hurriedly put some bills on the table for her coffee and walked briskly to her car. Just as she got to her car, a young woman with blonde hair in a cap across the road, waved at her with a grin on her face. Sandra grasped with fear as she entered her car and sped off. Her mind was flooded with questions... Was she the one who sent the text? Is she working with the bartender? Who is she? What do they want? What secrets do they know? Could it be Mercy? No-nooo. it can't be. I paid her off. Sandra picked up her phone to call the one person she trusts the most.... Pedro, her man. She dialed his number, rang a few minutes before he picked “Hello Pedro, where are you? Could you come to my place tonight? Something came up. Sandra said shakily over the phone as she tried to stay calm. "Woaahh.... calm down Sandra! I can’t make out what you are saying” what happened? Are you okay? Pedro chuckled dryly Pedro, some strange number texted. It said “they know my secrets”. She replied, her voice trembling. A text? Secrets? What secrets, Sandra? Did you try calling the number? Pedro asked, smiling. N..noo! “The message is encrypted!!!” I couldn't call the number. Sandra replied, almost shouting. Oh wow! Where are you right now? “I am on my way home!” she replied. N ....noooo don’t go to your place, it will be better if you come to my place.... at least you will be safe with me. Okay, I am coming. *Call drops* I was surprised that Sandra called Pedro. I didn't expect it to be this quick. I mean, the young woman with blonde hair in a facecap had just finished telling me over the phone about her encounter with Sandra. With my eyes bimming with joy, I looked at Pedro, a smile spread across his face. Oh wow!!! I can’t believe she called you! I said as I laughed. Pedro smiled, yeah, I knew she’d call me, just like I told you. We both laughed. Uhm, Pedro, tell me something. Why are you with her anyway? I mean, what’s the attraction? Huh? Pedro turned to face me as he laughed out loud! Ohh, Tee you don’t want to know *sounding sarcastic* ! Her p***y is the juiciest p***y that I have ever f****d for real and.....it is free! Eeii... stop! Pleassseee stop! I don’t want to hear anymore. Hahahaha....ok..okay. So, what do you want to do, Tee? Do you want to kill her tonight? Because I am game! Pedro asked as he sat on his bed. C’mon Pedro, not tonight. Speaking of which, I was thinking if I could watch you f**k her tonight? What the f**k! Pedro exclaimed! What are you now? A psycho? Does watching people f**k turn you on? Shut up Pedro! hahaha. I mean it won’t be a bad idea... you know, I said with excitement in my voice. Hmmm... okay. I got you. Wait a minute, Tee, do you want to record it? Do you want me to? I asked, with a grin on my face.” Pedro hesitated for a second," Well... I really don’t give a f**k about it though, not after everything they did to you, your baby brother and your mother. But hey, try not to record my face! I smiled as I nodded my head in agreement. **** Fragment of Lost Memories Memories of the past flooded my mind as I sat on Pedro's big-sized bed. My mind drafted to the first time I heard the name Clare, a name that became my mother's nightmare. I could hear my mum calling out to my dad as she ran after him. For some obvious reasons my ,dad was avoiding my mother's question Don’t walk away from me when I am still talking to you Alfred! I need to know what is going between you and Clare. People are starting to talk about you two. He stopped half way and turned to face her. Catrine, I have told you plenty of times, there is nothing going on between us. She is just my secretary! Just my secretary? She said, mimicking my father. Yet she is always with you, even when you work late at night! She exclaimed. That is why she is my secretary! My father shouted back as he picked up his telephone from the wardrobe. I could see my mum, blocking his way, preventing him from leaving their room. Alfred, you can't tell me that nothing is going on between you and that woman. I saw the way you were looking at her at the Ojos' wedding anniversary. For god's sake, why did you even invite her? to humiliate me in public? Woman, please get out of my way. I am running late for my meeting, he replied to her and pushed my mum out of his way and walked out. I saw my mum fell on the bed, almost hitting her head on the edge of the bed Mummy! I ran to her and fell into her hands. She held me close while trying to fight back the tears. Mummy are you and daddy fighting? Oh no..no. we were just talking. But why are you crying, I asked while trying to look her in the eyes. She purposely avoided eye contact with me while she held on to me for what seems like hours. I could tell she was crying but i couldnt dare to ask her more questions, so she don't break down in front of me.
