Piper couldn"t believe her eyes when she saw the cop come running through the sea grass, waving his arms.
"Dawn, Dawn stop!"
The man was yelling as he ran. Dawn turned at the sound of the voice, but her attention was still focused on Piper. When the young cop came into view, it was hard not to see her frustration.
"What in the world are you doing here?" she snarled at him.
But the man who had rushed to be by Dawn was staring at the man on the ground, not at the woman with the g*n. Things seemed to click in his mind faster than it had for the other cop, and he turned to her angrily.
"You said this was our place. What is he doing here? How many other men have you brought here, Dawn? How many other men do you have at your beck and call, breaking laws and putting people"s lives at stake
