“Mom, what if Alicia likes foreign men?”

My Mom said, the three of us are watching a family movie.

“What do you mean?”

Mom faced Grandma so she could explain well.

“You see, Alicia has been living abroad for the past few years. So maybe she develops a different basis for attractive men? You introduced her to the sons of your friends, but none caught her attention, so maybe, you know.”

Grandma nodded at the possibility. Can’t blame Grandma, she’s desperate already. After that date at the coffee shop that I witnessed, Grandma introduced three more men to Aunt Alicia. And all of them failed. Aunt Alicia always comes back with a victorious and wicked smile. Our house just gets livelier as days pass by. I asked what happened to every date. Aunt Alicia answered me that it was just the same old event as that very first date. No one saw through her lies? Are men that stupid? Or did they know but wouldn’t want to dwell on her craziness anymore? Maybe she’s too much for them. She’s even too much for Grandma, even more to those strangers.

“By the way, Mom, what did your friends’ son say about Alicia? You know, regarding their dates.”

I also want to know the answer to this one.

“They all said that they don’t match.”

“As vague as that?”

“Unfortunately, yes.”

Aunt Alicia was right. Those men never really told their Mom the truth behind those ruined coffee dates. Such a shame, I was looking forward to what Grandma is going to do to her when she finds out. It would be fun to witness.

“Then we really should try another way.”

“Okay, I’ll look into that. Leave it to Mom, I’ll make sure that by the end of the year, Alicia will be in a relationship.”

“Nope, I’ll help you as well, Mom. I have a few ways I want to try.”

Setting aside my crazy aunt, I would never expect Grandma and Mom to act this way. For the past few days, I have witnessed a drastic change in their behavior.

“So what do you have in mind?”

“First, let’s try an online dating platform.”

Mom eagerly said. I smiled at how my mother was acting. Never seen this childish side of her before. Did Dad know that his wife could be like this?

“Okay, let’s start with that one.”

“Wait, I’ll just get my laptop. It’s easier to type on it than on my phone.”

But why does Mom sound like an expert at this online thingy?

“Okay, faster!!”

Grandma giddily shoo Mom away. Mom went to her room and came back with a laptop in her hand. She’s even running happily like she’s up to no good.

Then they got busy. I saw how their faces changed from a happy one then to an annoyed one. Then annoyed to hopeful. Hopeful to be annoyed again. I’m getting curious as to what they’re doing. Then, after a few twists and turns of their expressions, they let out a satisfied sigh.

Nah, they should only be satisfied if they also succeeded in dealing with Aunt Alicia. All hopes will be gone if no man can withstand her.

The movie credits rolled up. I didn’t even know what happened in the movie. I was so distracted by what my Mom and Grandma were doing.

But one thing I’m sure of is that I will see another engaging event that revolves around Aunt Alicia. Hahahaha.
