Dean x Reader
Reader goes on date that doesn't turn out quite how she'd hoped.
Walking down the dark backroad you weren't sure what pissed you off more, the fact that tonight went exactly as you figured it would, or the fact that you had actually hoped for something better. Thinking back it only made you more angry how excited you'd gotten. Going so far as to pull out an old sundress you'd bought a couple years ago on a whim but never actually worn. You'd even put on a little makeup, not much because you never wore much anyway but you did take extra time tonight.
Kicking a rock with your foot as you continued moving forward you guessed it wasn't really all that surprising, after all who in this life ever really gets to be normal? Looking up you realized you were finally home, walking to the bunker door you prayed the guys were asleep, you really didn't feel up for a round of twenty questions.
Opening the door as quietly as possible and closing it again you could already hear movement below, s**t. Turning around you saw Sam with his eyes glued to his laptop while taking a drink from his beer. As you began walking down the stairs Sam heard movement. Not taking his eyes from the screen he tilted his head in your direction, "Your back early, date go okay?"
"Um, yeah I mean it was fine I guess. Definitely one to remember," you shrugged and began walking by hoping he never looked up. Hearing the tone in your voice Sam's eyes lifted just as you began walking by the table. Doing a double take he quickly jumped up and ran around to stand in front of you, "What the hell happened? Are you okay?"
Before you could open you mouth to reply Dean came around the corner, beer in hand. "What's with all the yelling, did you find some...." he froze, eyes immediately darkening as he saw you. Setting his beer on the table he took three long strides forward and placed both hands on your arms, taking in everything from your torn and bloody clothes to the dried blood on your skin.
"What the hell happened?!"
Taking a step back you held up both hands, "What typically happens to hunters who try normal for a night, all hell broke loose. Nothing new, I'm fine by the way this is everybody else's," you gestured to all the blood. Walking forward between the brothers you made your way into the kitchen, both men following behind. Grabbing a beer from the fridge you took a swig as they both stared wide eyed, Dean looked as though he was prepared to tear someone apart. "What exactly happened? What do you mean everyone else's, how many people were there?"
Jumping up to sit on the counter you knew there was no way of making it to a shower and bed without giving them peace of mind. "Alright, short version apparently the guy I was meeting was a demon all along just trying to lure me out. Once we started our 'date' two of his buddies showed up. There was a fight in which I obviously kicked ass and sent them all back to hell. Are we all caught up?" Taking another pull from the beer bottle you watched as their faces changed, both were angry but Sam's seemed to be edged with guilt and a tinge of pride.
Deans on the other hand showed fury along with something else you couldn't quite place. Hopping down from the counter you turned to grab your beer bottle. "I'm fine guys, just another Saturday night. I'm gonna grab a shower and go to bed, see you guys in the morning." Walking down the hall you stopped to grab some clean clothes before heading for the bathroom. After your shower you already felt better, although truth be told you were still angry at yourself. Good job Y/N, you let yourself get trapped all because you thought for once a guy was actually interested in you. HA! Guess from here on out you'll know better, hunters are meant to be alone.
Drying off and dressing in your favorite shorts and old worn out Led Zepplin shirt you threw the damp towel in the hamper. Turning off the light and walking back to your bedroom you simply threw the dress in the trash can. Walking forward you sighed as you crawled into your comfortable bed, longing for the sweet pull of oblivion and a break from your constantly racing mind.
Laying there letting your mind race wildly you almost didn't hear the door open.
"Y/N?"
Without even opening your eyes or moving you knew it was Dean, "Yeah?"
Feeling the bed dip under his weight as he laid beside you there was no surprise when you felt his warm breath on the back of your neck, "You okay?" Many nights you both had lay awake, talking about anything and everything. For the past two years you'd been each other best friends beside Sam and you could never imagine your life without them. Although for you Dean had held a larger portion of your heart the past year, but knowing how he would never settle with one woman kept you from ever revealing your feelings.
Even if you couldn't have him in that capacity at least you still had your best friend, and that was better than nothing.
"I guess, just kinda pissed I didn't see it coming. A guy was interested in me? That alone should have raised a few red flags."
"Hey that's not true, tons of guys are always interested in you. You might not see it but every hunt we go on guys are constantly hitting on you and staring. Your a damn beautiful woman Y/N any man in his right mind would wanna be with you."
Curling tighter into yourself you tried to fight back the negative thoughts and feelings clawing thier way forward. "Sure Dean, okay."
Silence filled the room for a good few minutes, you'd actually almost drifted off to sleep when suddenly you felt an arm wrap around your waist and pull until you were turned onto your back. Opening your eyes the dim light from under the door was enough to show Deans face above yours, and the look of indecision in his eyes. "Dean whats wrong?"
"This could be the best decision I've ever made, or the worst." Confusion came across your face at his words.
Staring into your eyes and back down to your lips he seemed to finally settle on a decision, leaning down you were surprised when soft warm lips met yours. Relaxing into it your hands came up behind his head to rest at the back of his neck. After a few moments you both broke apart, panting slightly. "What was that?"
Dean smirked at you, "That, was me telling you what you do to me. I didn't want to ruin the great relationship we already had but after tonight I need you to know how I feel. I want you Y/N, from here on out. I can't stand to see you walk out that door again to meet some guy, especially if they turn into a demon hit squad."
At this you giggled, "About damn time Winchester, I've waited for you for awhile now."
Rubbing his nose along yours you felt his hand on your waist tighten, "Well then, I guess we have some making up to do." Smiling wide you crashed your lips against his, excited to see what this new chapter would bring.
