Young Dean x Young Reader Reader stands up to John after a hunt John Winchester was known as one of the best in the hunting community, his reputation for taking out the supernatural was pretty damn impressive. He may have been a great hunter, but when it came to Sam and Dean he never did seem to understand the impact his actions had. You had joined the Winchesters when you were nineteen, your dad had been killed on a werewolf hunt gone wrong you two had been helping John and Dean with. Afterward you stuck with the guys, not wanting to be alone and having no where else to go. Sam had left for college not long after but you still kept in touch through calls and texts. Eventually you and Dean grew close, you began caring about the older brother and almost believed he cared about you too. You knew that in this line of work it was usually a bad idea to get attached to people but you couldn't help it, you were hooked. He was incredibly funny and dorky, but also brave and strong. He had these amazing green eyes that changed shades with his moods, and he always made you feel like you belonged. The three of you had just finished a wendigo hunt and drove straight to Bobbys, John was pissed because Dean had gotten distracted when the creature threw you against a tree and almost missed it with the flame thrower. In the end the bastard was dead so you couldn't understand why he was so angry, but that was John. Everything always had to go his way on a hunt and you were both supposed to follow orders like good little soldiers. After Dean killed the Wendigo John never even acknowledged how amazing he was, all he did was yell at Dean for losing focus. Pulling up to Bobbys you quickly jumped out and ran inside, Bobby was like a father figure to you and every time you got to see him it made everything better. Running in the door you couldn't help the big smile on your face as you saw him standing in the kitchen grabbing a beer from the fridge. "Bobby!" Turning around he smiled and caught you as you jumped and hugged him, "Hey there hun, thought I heard somebody pull up." Giving you a tight squeeze he let you go and looked you up and down smiling. "You look good girl, still kickin ass?" Grinning you nodded, "Yeah, although Dean did most of the ass kickin this last time, took down a Wendigo who used me as a fetch toy." Frowning slightly Bobby again looked you up and down, "You doin okay?" Waving him off you headed towards the fridge, "I'm fine, just a few bruises." Popping the top you brought the bottle to your lips as Dean and John walked in. Both had frowns on thier faces which meant a few choice words had already been said. Frowning you tried to meet Deans eyes but he wouldn't look at you. Making his way over to Bobby he grinned and gave him a bear hug, "Heya Bobby." After awhile everyone ate and John and Bobby caught up while you sat off to the side drinking another beer. Dean sat by the fireplace just staring at the flames. You weren't sure what John had said to him but it must have been bad. Looking up when you heard your name mentioned you shook your head, "What?" Bobby and John both looked at you, Bobby sighed and John just looked pissed. "Y/N I was just letting John know about a possible case over in Virginia, from the looks of things I'm thinking vengeful spirit." Standing up you nodded, "Okay lets hit the road, I can research in the car on the way." John stood up and faced you with his arms crossed, "I'm going alone kid, you and Dean can stay here awhile." Surprised you looked at Dean, his jaw had tightened but he never looked away from the fireplace. Crossing your arms you took a few steps forward, thanks for the back up Dean. "And why the hell can't we go? In case it missed your notice John your son just took out a Wendigo yesterday by himself, you were too busy landing on your ass." Deans head snapped up at your comment and he stood up, he knew what was about to happen. Johns eyes burned with anger as he uncrossed his arms and took a few steps towards you, "What the hell did you say?" Not backing down you took the remaining two steps until you were right in front of him, "You heard me, Deans a damn good hunter and so am I. So whats your reason for leaving us behind?" "Y/N..." you heard Bobby beside you but decided to hell with it, someone had to stand up to John and his attitude. "Really John, whats your problem? We all screw up from time to time, even you! Maybe YOU should stay with Bobby and Dean and I can go..." CRACK You never saw it coming, all of a sudden the left side of your face felt as though it was on fire. Straightening out and bringing a hand up to your cheek you narrowed your eyes at John who was standing there with guilt in his eyes but an expression on his face making it clear he wouldn't back down. Dean walked forward but you held out a hand to stop him. Calmly and before you could let any tears fall you looked John in the eyes, "f**k you John." Turning you walked out the door, slamming it behind you. Bobby looked at John, his body shaking with anger, "What the hell was that!" John shot him a look then turned to sit back in his chair, "She was acting like a child, so I treated her like one." Dean glared at his father, until now he always held his tongue and did as he was told, but not now. "Go to f*****g Virginia, and after that go anywhere else you damn want. Shes right, we're good hunters and if you don't want us around then fine. We'll go it alone, I don't want you anywhere near her." Walking forward he stopped once he was only a step from his father. In the firelight John could see the anger in his eyes, crouching down slightly Dean met his fathers eyes, "And if you ever touch her again, I'll kill you myself." With that said he turned and walked out the front door, determined to make sure you were okay. Once he reached the porch he looked around the junk yard wondering which way you went. Looking to his right he noticed a small light shining through the window of the garage. Walking quickly he came to the side door and made his way inside quietly. Seeing the light was coming from the office in the back he made his way around the car parts all over the floor and stopped in the doorway. You were sitting on the desk, legs swinging and twirling a knife in your hand. You looked deep in thought and for a minute he wasn't sure he wanted to disturb you. A moment before he turned to leave he saw a tear roll down your cheek and hit your leg. Frowning he walked forward until he stood in front of you, looking up you gave him a small smile and quickly wiped your cheek, wincing at pain. "Hey Dean, whats up?" He knew you were trying to act tough, it was one thing he admired about you, no matter the hits you took you always got back up ready for the next round. Stepping forward until he stood just in between your legs he brought his hand up to brush the hair from your face and examine your cheek. Seeing the red mark that was definitely going to bruise he became angry. "I'm sorry, I should have stopped him." Shaking your head you set the knife down beside your leg, "No I shouldn't have pushed him. I know how he gets and I knew I should have shut up but I just couldn't. Why can't he see what an amazing hunter you are! All year you've taken out more monsters than he has! I just don't understand why he..." You were cut off mid rant by a pair of lips on yours, surprised at first it was a moment before you closed your eyes and relaxed into it. Bringing your hands up to wind into the hair at the back of Deans neck you smiled and pulled him closer. Dean took the last step forward until there was no room between your bodies as he wrapped his arms around you. Pulling back you both smiled and he rested his forehead against yours, "After you left I told him to go to Virginia, and then keep going. I told him I would hunt with you and we'd be just fine." Lifting your head you looked at him with surprise, "What?" Dean sighed and tightened the hold he had on you, "Y/N I'm never gonna leave you, you mean everything to me and I don't care what he wants or does anymore. We make a great team and maybe one day he'll realize that. But I want you to know, your it for me. I know its dangerous to get attached in our line of work but I don't care. I'll spend every day keeping you safe if I have to, I love you Y/N." Tears brimmed in your eyes and you couldn't help the millions of butterflies in your stomach, pulling him forward you crashed your lips against his. Pulling back after a moment you smiled at him, laughing you brushed the hair from his forehead, "Dean Winchester I Love you too, and I'll fight to keep you no matter the cost. Your it for me too." You saw the dorky grin you loved so much come across his face and couldn't help the laugh you let out. Picking you up off the desk Dean spun around with you in his arms, for right now you were both happy, and no one was going to ruin that.
