Chapter 15 - Changes

1694 Words
Rory As soon as we were kicked out of the kitchen, I grabbed Falco's hand, lacing my fingers tightly in with his before I started to lead him towards our bedroom. I knew how bad this all was, and I knew that I needed to be more than I was for whatever was coming. But once we reached the top of the staircase, Falco stopped dead in his tracks, refusing to move another step. I turned around and stared into his blue eyes, giving him a frustrated and impatient look, "Falco .... " Falco shook his head, "No. Rory, I need to ..." I squeezed his hand tightly, letting him know that I wasn't fu.cking around, "Falco, you need to come with me, now. Contrary to what you might think I want, this is more important! There are plenty of warriors guarding the perimeter, and I'm sure that Tyler has everything under control right now, being that he is the lead warrior and all. Plus, Darcy teleported here, so no one is hot on their trail just yet ....." Falco furrowed his brows as he attempted to pull his hand away from mine, "What's the matter with you, Rory? You never put safety behind anything!" I clenched my teeth together in irritation, "This is for ..." "Aurora! Where the hell are you going?!" Cordelia's voice came from the bottom of the stairs, and when I turned to look at her, I saw that Lorne was right behind her. Fu.ck, f***k, f***k! I don't need this right now. Why did Falco have to stop here?! Why couldn't he just keep walking? I made eye contact with Cordelia to let her know that I was serious, "This doesn't concern you, Cordelia!" Cordelia and Lorne started making their way up the stairs towards Falco and me. Why couldn't I have thought of a decent lie to tell them? Something ... anything to make them go away. "It might not concern Dee, nor myself, but your kind is obviously under attack and ....." Lorne started to give what I assumed to be a speech on why they shouldn't be left out, how they could help, how much trouble we were in ..... "And that's exactly why Falco is going to change me!" I hissed out, just barely loud enough for the three of them to hear me. "What the f***k are you talking about?!" Cordelia asked as she grabbed me by my shoulders and turned me to face her. "Babe, you can't be serious? Not now. What if something goes wrong?" Falco questioned my decision, but I could tell by the tone of his voice he knew the answers. "What do you mean if something goes wrong?" Cordelia asked, her serious blue eyes locked onto my green ones. Falco must have given Lorne a look, because as Falco placed an arm over my shoulders, Lorne walked up behind Cordelia and gently removed her hands from my shoulders as Falco started to explain himself, "I know you're new to all of this, so I'll try to explain it as simply as I can. Being turned into a werewolf isn't a walk in the park. That's why most of us are born into it. Getting a wolf and shifting when you're older is hard on one's body, physically and mentally. Not everyone survives the transition into ....." Cordelia's eyes widened as she attempted to move towards me, only to be held back by Lorne, "Rory, you're NOT doing this!" I was thankful that Lorne had wrapped his arms around Cordelia, because there was no doubt in my mind that she wanted to slap sense into me, and we didn't have time for a catfight. I smiled softly, understanding the fear she must be feeling, "I'm already a vampire, Cordelia. I can handle it physically ....." Tears started forming in Cordelia's eyes, "Rory, I can't, I, I can't lose another person that I care about ...." "Dee. You have no say in this," Lorne whispered into Cordelia's ear. Cordelia and I stood staring at each other as Lorne continued, "Aurora is an adult, she's fully capable of making her own decisions. If this is what she wants for herself, what she really wants, you can either else be there for her and support her, or you can back off. If the decisions that she makes aren't causing harm to anyone else, and she's doing what she feels is in the best interest of herself and her pack, who are you to stop her? It is no different from me becoming a police officer." A few quiet seconds passed before Cordelia cleared her throat, "You guys don't need to, well, uh, bone or anything like that to do this, do you?" I couldn't help but chuckle as I shook my head. "No. It would be much more pleasurable and way less painful, but we don't have time for that." "Are you sure? A quickie never hurt anyone," Falco linked to me as he slid his hand down to my lower back. "As much as I love you and want to say yes, that isn't going to happen right now." Cordelia closed her eyes and sighed, "Good because I want to be there for it. If this does kill you, I'm going to find a way to bring you back from the dead long enough to kill you myself." I nodded my head as I started walking towards the bedroom, the others following closely behind me, "If this kills me, you're going to have bigger things to worry about other than being pissed off at me." "So what should we expect?" Lorne asked. "Karro will take over my body just enough to be able to mark Rory. Her body is going to want to fight it like a virus. It's going to be painful, and she'll get physically sick, almost like having the flu on steroids. Once she's passed out, she'll get her wolf ....." Falco explained to Cordelia and Lorne. The four of us made our way into the bedroom, and as Lorne brought out the wastebasket from the bathroom, Falco made sure that all the curtains were closed. The only light in the room was from the lamp on the nightstand as I started stripping down to my underwear and bra. "What are you doing?" Cordelia asked me as I pulled my shirt over my head. "Did you ignore the part that I was going to get sick? I don't feel like staying in sweaty and barf-covered clothes for who knows how long. Falco can take care of me easier if ...." Cordelia quickly interrupted me, "WE. We can take care of you more easily. Rory, I may not understand what's going on out there, but right now the only thing I can do is hope that Harlee is safe and make sure that nothing happens to you. We're all going to get through this ..... somehow." I hugged my old friend before I got into bed, pulling the blanket up to my chest. What on earth was I thinking? "Lorne, could you get out the ice from the micro-fridge and get another batch going? She's going to need it," Falco instructed as he made his way over to the bed. I knew that the request was to keep Lorne busy so that Karro wouldn't become overly jealous and possessive. "Understood," Lorne replied as he disappeared into the shadows of the room. Falco's blue eyes lovingly stared down at me as he gently cupped the side of my face with his hand, "You're sure about this?" I nodded my head into his hand, not wanting to say anything that would give away how much doubt I actually had. "As you wish," Falco whispered, closing his eyes and releasing a long breath of air. When his eyes reopened, I knew that Karro was the main one looking down at me. Cordelia went to turn off the light on the nightstand, and a faint growl passed through Falco's lips. "Shut it, dog man. I don't need to see this," Cordelia said before slipping out of view. I started taking slow, deep breaths to calm my nerves and relax my body. As soon as I closed my eyes, Falco ..... Karro gently turned my head to the side. A shiver ran throughout my body as his hot breath danced across the skin on my neck, quickly followed by his open mouth sucking on my marking spot. As much as I didn't want to be turned on with Cordelia and Lorne being in the room, I couldn't help what my body wanted. I laced my fingers into Falco's hair, gripping tightly as I pulled his mouth into me even more. His sucking increased, and I couldn't fight the whimpers that left my mouth as pleasure and pain combined .... and that's when I felt his teeth graze my skin. My eyes shot open as Falco's elongated teeth quickly buried into my flesh and a horrible burning sensation took over as his mouth continued to suck. The pain was worse than being turned into a vampire, far worse, and I regretted not agreeing to make this moment more pleasurable. I opened my mouth, wanting to scream, but the sound caught somewhere in my throat. My body tensed from the pain, pulling Falco's hair in the process and causing him to growl into my neck. It wasn't until my body started twitching as it fought the change within that Falco .... Karro retracted his teeth and licked his wound to seal it. Nausea punched me in the stomach, and I quickly rolled over and threw up the coffee that I had drunk just a short time earlier, hoping that I had made it into the basket. My heart felt like it was going to explode from my chest, my body burning and convulsing from the pain, and my sight started to go fuzzy and fade. After I laid back down and closed my eyes, my world spinning around me, I felt a cooling sensation on my forehead .... and then that's when the darkness took over. .
