Chapter 18

655 Words
I take my steps in with great caution. There is an unease to the energy of the home. I almost felt like a small mouse stepping into the den of a snake. You could say I almost immediately regretted every choice that lead me here. Why would she let me in? Yeah, perhaps I’ve fooled her, but theres some lingering suspicions in the air of my mind. Fear seems to overcame the rest of my secondary emotions, and I begin to feel the bubbling, crushing feelings of an anxiety attack start to boil within me. “You can leave your shoes by the door, and feel free to take a seat on the couch.” Her voice was heavenly. God she really is magnificent in every way. I did as I was told and took a seat on the couch. She was in the kitchen doing something that included the sounds of dishes against one and other. The house was a few shades off from being completely pitch black. I’ve seen her house like this before and noticed she wasn’t in bed. She’s full of surprises. I bet she’s been awake a few of the times I was creeping about. A deep sense of danger and sorrow filled the depths of my soul as I knew what I had come here to do. I’m already a wanted man with nothing to lose. I’m going to kill her. Then i will kill myself. So neither of us have to live with the disgusting things I’ve done. I just need to get close enough to her. I’ll make her feel comfortable, yeah, then it will be quick. No more pain. No more anguish. Just a little peace and darkness. I’ll just knock her out. Won’t be too hard right? A few seconds of squirming with my hands around her throat and that will be that. Then we can both take a nice short trip of the bridge I take every day to get here. Sort of ironic if you think about it. I almost chuckle… I really am just an evil man. I almost chuckle again. I wait patiently for the noises emanating from the kitchen to cease. She appears from the doorway holding refreshments. I am parched. I didn’t even touch a thing at the diner. “Here, it’s strawberry lemonade. I made it from scratch just yesterday. It’s absolutely delicious.” “ Thank you so much! That sounds absolutely amazing!” I take the glass from her and take a few deep large swigs. “Oh wow! It really is phenomenal!” “So you’re going to stay here with me for a little while until I get some things figured out, okay?” I finished my lemonade, and almost choked on my last swallow. “Me-?! Why…?” My thoughts seemed to start escaping from my mind, and words began to fail me. My face feels really warm. “Well because I have a lot of questions, and I think you might know th—————-“ Her voice drowns and fades in and out as my eyes uncontrollably take an odd attraction to the ceiling. “I feel wei-“ She covers my mouth with her hand “Mhhmmm I bet you do.” She straddles me on the couch. I can feel the pressure of her body upon me, but I don’t have to ability to look at her or really move at all. She guides my arms up the back of the couch. I feel a familiar object wrap around my hands and grip tightly up my wrists. “I believe these belong to you” Ahh f**k these are the restraints I left on her bed. She… She found them… I… can’t.. “I believe this belongs to you too” There’s a sharp flip and crack of a familiar sounding blade opening from its handle.
