Chapter 7: The Five Sisters and The Lady Warrior's Mission

Caudata, Northern Mei

The Northern Mei has been secluded, barren, and has been unoccupied for more than twenty years. The salamanders who were the previous inhabitants of the Northern Mei have been exterminated as ordered by the king and queen. And because of that, peace and triumph has been present in the entire Mei Kingdom.

But, not all salamanders were annihilated. There were few who happened to survive from the attack. And one of these was the son of Amphiuma. But, his existence has been long forgotten since then. And speaking of Caudata, those salamanders who hid themselves from the king and queen's knights in the nearby water revealed themselves. They were now starting to build an army that would make the king and queen bowed to their feet.

"Listen, salamanders, mudpuppies, and newts! It is not yet ripe to reveal ourselves to the king and queen. We still need to wait for the last descendant of Amphiuma. I know that his son has been sent to other world, and we have to find a way to find him. Then, bring him back to Caudata to start the rebellion."

The head of the salamanders named Lurak presided the talk and all of them listened attentively. Some were surprised to know that Amphiuma's son survived while others questioned him on where on Mei Kingdom will they find him. And they just can't live Caudata for fear of losing their lives again.

"How can we find Amphiuma's son, Lurak? The Land of Mei is a vast kingdom and finding him is just finding a needle in a haystack," one of the newts asked Lurak.

"That's right. If we go out from Caudata, we will become the target in the eyes of the king and queen. We cannot risk our lives again from being exposed?" another one brought up about what happened in the past, and it made everyone worry.

"Salamanders. Newts. Mudpuppies. Do not fret. Do not be afraid. As long as I, Lurak, standing in front of you and is still alive, Caudata will not turn into another target of the king and queen. I bet my life on it. And as for finding Amphiuma's son, I will work alone and disguise myself as one of the Mei to enter Holei, and the rest of the city of Mei Kingdom."

Lurak made salamanders, newts, and mudpuppies agreed to what he said. "If there are no more questions arise, please return to your homes."

One by one, salamanders walked back to their own houses. Instead of living on the land, they preferred to live in the swamp, and river nearby. It was the only way for them to avoid arousing suspicions from the eyes of the king and queen. They have been annihilated once, and they won't let another tragedy happen to them. The salamander's survival is now in the hands of Lurak. He must do his best to find Amphiuma's son at all cost. And he'll start from the Central part of Mei, in Holei. The place where Amphiuma and its herds were killed twenty-four years ago.

The Capital

Mei Kingdom

In the capital, the bustling street below the palace were too busy that they sometimes forget to recognize the daughters of the king and queen, disguised themselves as normal inhabitants.

"Wow! When is the last time I visited the market outside the palace?"

Sarai Iloa, the eldest daughter and soon to be hailed as the crown princess of the Mei Kingdom is the first in line to the throne, asked herself the last she visited the bustling street outside the palace. Standing about five and eight inches tall, she's the warrior-like lady of the kingdom.

"Why did you ask that all of a sudden, sister Sarai?"

The second and next to Sarai is Maria. She's the elegant princess of the Mei Kingdom that always look pretty whenever she wore a princess clothes, or an ordinary Mei outside the palace. Maria loves hiding her face from her suitors. And laugh out loud whenever she sees ugly one.

"Why don't we return to the palace, sisters? The king and queen might be looking for us, now. You know we are not allowed to go out without their permission."

Third in line to throne is Izabel. She's the intelligent one and eyes of their sisters. Even the king and queen loved her composure and well-verse speech whenever she talked. The words coming out from her mouth must be followed or else, a penalty shall be imposed to those who ignore it.

"That is why we brought you here, sister Izabel. I know you can explain and hide our escapes from the king and queen. Right, girls?"

Luzia, the fourth one, is the savage and deadly among the five sisters. Only Izabel can make her tail wags whenever she'll do something stupid or bullied someone else, in and out of the palace. A lot of servants under her wings were pranked, bullied, and even thrown outside the palace because of her savage personality.

"How about you, Iona?" Luzia turned her gaze to the youngest and the silent one named Iona.

"Just leave Iona alone, Luzia," Izabel ordered her not to mess with the youngest one.

Although, Iona is the youngest, and the silent one among the five sisters in the Mei Kingdom, she's also a threat to the servants working in the palace. Her silent personality made the servants body shivered and scared because as soon as she started talking, you have to prepare yourself from being cast out of the palace.

The five sisters were different from the king and queen's personality. Queen Naomi, and King Moses Iloa couldn't ignore the fact that their five daughters were the most hateful citizen of the Mei Kingdom.

INSIDE the palace, Queen Naomi is sitting in her bed when King Moses entered her chamber.

"How are you doing, my queen?" he hug her instantly and kiss her lips.

"I'm fine, my king. Have you seen our daughters?" she replied asking about their children.

"I don't know. Maybe they all skip their lessons and went out of the palace. And those siblings irritates me. If only our son is here, I wouldn't be mad like this. They are a pain in my head, my queen," King Moses could not control his temper and told his feelings towards her daughters to her queen.

"I miss our son too. After sending him to the mortal world, I bore five beautiful daughters, but their attitudes were way beyond our expectation. I don't know how did they end up being bullies in our palace, my king," she was reminiscing the short time she spent with her son in her bed while trying to figure out why their daughters became the opposite of their personality.

"The people of Mei loves our kindness and helpful personalities, but I also don't understand as to what extent our daughters become ill-mannered in front of our servants. In no time, there will be no more servants attending to their needs," King Moses replied then a brilliant idea came in to the Queen's mind.

"Why don't we call Rebecca to find our son in the mortal world, my king?"

"That is a good idea, my queen."

The king and queen smiled at the thought that it's about time to look for their son in the mortal realm. And Rebecca Moha is the best choice and fit for the job in finding him.

"Servants! Call Lady Warrior Rebecca Moha. Tell her to come into the queen's chamber. Now!" The king has ordered his servant to call Rebecca.

"Your servant will oblige, my king," the servant immediately run towards the hallway of the palace and look for Rebecca Moha.

The lady warrior is currently supervising and watching the five sisters outside the palace, when news of calling her to return immediately in the palace made her turned back.

"Those five sisters are really mean. I wonder what benefits do they gain from doing evil and foolish things?"

Rebecca shook his head as she watches the five sisters slapping an ordinary tenants in front of the crowd. She has to leave first because the king and the queen needs her. In the blink of an eye, Rebecca disappeared and entered the palace all the way to the queens chamber.

"Your majesty, the king and the queen, your servant Rebecca Moha is here," she said while waiting for the king's response.

"Come in, Rebecca."

While the door slowly opened, Rebecca saw for the first time the queen's chamber. And she was also able to see the elegant beauty of the queen and the masculinity of the king of Mei Kingdom.

"I bowed to you my king, and my queen. How can I be of help?"

"Rise, Rebecca. I called you here for a secret mission. Servants, closed the door and move ten steps away from the doorstep. Now!"

Rebecca turned back and saw the servants closing the door. Then, she faces again the king and queen. "What is my secret mission, my king?"

"I will send you to the mortal world. You have to find our son," the queen has spoke, and it made Rebecca curious to ask.

"Your son? How come my mother did not tell me something about that, my queen?"

"It's a long story. My son is the heir to the throne of the Mei Kingdom," the queen continued.

"And not Sarai? Is that what you are telling me, my queen?"

"Yes, you heard it right," the king continued. "You can easily recognize our son by looking at his face."

"I'm sorry, my king, my queen. Why is he recognizable and what do you mean he is the heir to the throne?" Rebecca's curiosity rises while the king and the queen stared each other for a minute, and shared everything to Rebecca.

"Let me tell you a story about the Witch and The Queen. Listen attentively, and you'll know why we are going to send you in the mortal world, Rebecca."

"I am all ears, my queen."

“If you're here, I am begging you to grant my wish, my dear shaman. I want to bore a lad in my belly. I want him to be as powerful as his father, and as beautiful as his sisters. Likewise, I'll do everything I can to grant my wish, my dear shaman.”

After saying those words, thick clouds covered the sky. Thunder and lightning suddenly fall from the sky. The queen immediately stood up, and saw the reflection of the shaman she was praying earlier. She was blind, but her hearing was as sharp as the bats in the darkest cave of Mei. Then, the shaman whispered her answers to the queen's ears.

“You are going to bore a child. A boy with super strength. A lad with extra-ordinary power. And he will be the next king of the Mei kingdom. But, after bearing him from your womb, you have to send him to the mortal world. He will be born the ugliest, but has the heart of gold. That is the consequences of disturbing my retreat in this mountain, my queen. Your pure love as a mother is the only remedy to heal his ugliness once he returned to the kingdom.”

The queen was shocked. She never expected to hear her saying those words. She tried to look for the shaman, but she disappeared. The thick clouds, thunder, and lightning were gone as well. And everything back to normal. She was happy to hear that she'll bore a child, a boy with super strength, and soon to be the next king of the kingdom, but she can't just send him into the mortal world, unless what she said was true that he'll be born the ugliest.

The queen left the Babayland and travelled back on the same route she had traversed. Hanging from the trees, crossing the river, and riding in her horse back to the palace. A week later, after returning from a tiring journey outside the palace, without the king's consent, she became pregnant. The king was very glad and wished for a boy. She reassured that she will deliver a boy, and it will make his heart happy.

"I am so sorry, my queen. I didn't know that it was hard on you to accept the prince ugliness. With your order, Rebecca is ready to explore the mortal world and find the prince. I promise to bring him back here whatever the cost it would take for me."

The king and queen are relieved to see Rebecca's confidence and promised them both that the prince will return to Mei Kingdom unscathed.
