Chapter 8: Sending Rebecca To the Mortal World

The Queen's Chamber

Mei Kingdom

"Now that you heard about the story of the Witch and the Queen, I am sure that you understand what the story implies to me, as the Queen itself. Right, Rebecca?" Queen Naomi is smiling at Rebecca while asking that question.

"Yes, my queen. And this servant is ready to travel and explore the mortal world to find the lost prince," Rebecca said bowing once again in front of her.

"He's not just the prince, Rebecca. He will soon be the next king of this kingdom. And sooner or later, you'll bow to him as the new king," King Moses interrupted their conversation and told his plan to Rebecca. "You are my trusted aide. And I know that you have been watching the five sisters. So before the queen send you to the mortal world, allow me to listen to you first what you are going to report about the princesses."

"Yes, my king. The five sisters were outside the palace. Before I left, I saw them bullying an ordinary folk. I wanted to stop them, but your message is important. That is why I hurriedly went here to listen and receive your orders," Rebecca reported everything she saw and the king heave a sigh while the queen shook her head.

"Thank you, Rebecca. We'll deal with them later. It's about time for me to send you to the mortal world. Are you ready?" Queen Naomi changed the topic while the king just watch her queen and keep silent.

"Yes, my queen. I am ready," Rebecca obliged.

"Then, allow me to open the portal to the mortal world here in my chamber. I want you to promise me to protect him, if possible and when the time is ripe, tell everything about his real identity. You have to disguise yourself first as a commoner in the human realm, make him trust you, and then after that explain to him clearly who he was and his family. Do you understand, Rebecca?"

It was a simple instruction, but Rebecca knows that she can do that. The only problem she would be facing is where to find him on the vast land of the mortal world. "I understand everything, my queen."

"Then, I have spoken. I'll send you to the mortal realm. Close your eyes. Listen to my voice. And trust my power."

Rebecca closes her eyes and listen attentively to the queen's voice. The queen then raises her hands and uttered the language of Mei to open the portal inside her chamber.

While closing her eyes, the queen opened the portal. The forces of nature appearing inside her chamber seems uncontrollable. Only those who can control will be able to handle it properly.

Aerth Yaun Tunda Prince!

By the power of the wind and moon,

I am asking you to send Rebecca,

And bring the prince back from Earth!

After chanting those words, the queen uses her left hand to control Rebecca and send her into the portal. Rebecca's body is slowly swallowed towards the circling hole, and in the blink of an eye, she disappeared. The portal eventually closes after that, leaving the queen and the king alone inside the queen's chamber.

"I wish Rebecca's success. I miss our son, my king."

"I know. I missed him too. And it was my fault for doubting you the day I saw our son in this chamber."

"No one is at fault, my king. It happened, and we cannot defy the rules of the Mei Kingdom. This is the land of beauty and kindness. And our son, our lost prince, has received the curse."

"I know. This is the land of beauty and kindness. We have nurtured this land for hundreds of years and I don't want our daughters to continue bullying the ordinary and weak townsfolk in our kingdom. It's time to teach them another lesson, my queen. And don't ever stop me from punishing them."

"I understand your intention to our daughters, my king. I am okay with punishing them with hard labor, but treating them like prisoners or a criminal by using sticks and rods, I cannot tolerate that. They're princesses now. You know what I mean, my king."

"I know. That is why, I want you this time to think of how to punish them in your own way. It has been several years since you saw them. Right?"

The queen suddenly keep quiet. The king was right. It has been years since then. She never talked to her children. After giving birth to each one of them, Naomi just leave the care to the king and to her servants. Now, that she has sent Rebecca to the mortal world, in hopes of finding her only son, and the eldest among her children, it's about time to face her daughters. And a brilliant punishment is ready for her to be imposed to her children.

"I think, I know what to do with them, my king. This is going to be funny and unforgettable punishment they are about to face."

"Cool. And I can't wait to see what punishment will you imposed to our daughters to stop bullying our servants and town folks."

"You'll see, my king. For now, let's take a bath together."

"That's more like it! But, let me call the guards and ask them to call our children. You go ahead, and I'll follow you to take a bath together."

"Sure, my king."

After watching his queen walking towards the bathroom, the king immediately called one of his guard outside.

"Send my message. Call all princesses and tell them to report in front of the throne of the king and queen. Now!"

"Your servant outside heard your announcement, my king!"

OUTSIDE the palace, the five mean sisters continues to create ruckus on the market while the rest of the town folks, spectators, passersby, and merchants shook their head, took pity, and even heave a sigh and put angry faces watching the sisters kicking, throwing some dirty water, slapping, and tearing off the clothes of the ordinary tenant who doesn't want to give them a discount on the items they loved to buy.

They were enjoying doing such mean things when all of them heard a sound of a horse walking towards their direction. All five princesses stood up and stops doing nasty things to the tenant. The tenant immediately stood up and run away from them.

"Message from the palace. All five princesses must return and must report to the king and queen of Mei Kingdom. Now!"

All five of them were surprised. They looked at each other's eyes and stared at each one of them with blame, trying to figure out how the king and queen knew they were outside the palace. And they just all can't ignore the message from the king and queen, their parents.
