Chapter3

Cassandra's POV I'm pacing my room anxiously when the door flies open and hits the wall with a loud bang. I flinch from the noise and turn around to find Alpha George glaring at me. My heart sinks to my stomach. I had tried to mentally prepare myself for this but there's no amount of preparation that would make anyone ready for the worse punishment of their life. I have been starved, beaten, and locked up as forms of punishment. Yet, I know none of them will come close to the punishment that I'm about to receive. I really screwed up this time. My legs tremble as Alpha George moves closer to me. I tense up as I wait for the first slap or punch but none comes. Instead, he stares down at me like he's trying to figure something out. "What did you tell him?" He finally asks, breaking the silence and filling me with confusion. "What did you tell the Alpha King?" He asks, his feature morphing into one of anger. Alpha King? The Alpha King was at the party? Wasn't he always absent at their parties? And why on earth do they think that I talked to him? My eyes widen as Alpha George lunges at me. He grips the front of my maid attire, effectively lifting my feet off the ground. "Answer me, you b***h!" He hollers in my face. "What did you tell Mason? Did you lie to him that we were maltreating you? Is that why he gave me that absurd order?" What absurd order is he talking about? Also, who is Mason? Is he the same Alpha King that he's yelling about? I grip his hands. "I didn't talk to anyone and I don't know who Mason is." I gasp as fear curls into a tight fist in my heart. I never thought that they would one day murder me but it seems like today might just be that day. Alpha George has never cared much for me but the look he has in his eyes makes me fear for my life. He throws me against the ground and I slam into the hard floor with a pained groan. "Foolish girl. She doesn't even know who the Alpha King is," he hiss, shaking his head in annoyance and pinning me down to the ground with contempt in his eyes. "He's the one you stupidly poured those wines on," he tells me. My eyes widen in surprise as his words register in my head, making the burning pain in my arm seem like nothing. My mate is the freaking Alpha King! I knew he was an Alpha because he was at a party that was meant for only Alphas and Lunas but I never imagined that he was the Alpha of all Alphas. How did this happen? How am I the mate of such a powerful man? Alpha George shakes his head. "It doesn't even matter what you said to him. The only thing that matters is that he wants you to move in with him and you're going to honor that order." Move in with the Alpha King? My mate wants me to live with him. I'm smiling before I even realize that I'm doing it. Alpha George snarls at me. "Don't look so happy. I'm very sure that he just wants another slave to clean his huge castle." But he doesn't know that the Alpha King also happens to be my fated mate. He doesn't know that Mason probably wants me by his side as his Luna. He points a finger at me. "I want your things packed and moved out of this room by tomorrow morning," he says. "I'm at least glad that I won't need to see your face anymore," he spits out, looking at me like I'm dirt underneath his pristine shoes. I will never understand why everyone in the pack hates me. I have tried my best to get on their good side but ever since I stepped foot here, it was like they immediately deemed that I wasn't worthy of even their respect for a fellow werewolf. Alpha George throws one last glare at me from my spot on the ground and walks out of my room. I manage to eventually drag myself off the floor and onto my bed where I lie and stare at the wet spot on the ceiling. It's almost surreal to think that this might be the last time that I will lie on the same bed and stare at that same spot. Tomorrow is going to be a new beginning for me and I can't wait to see what it brings. I drift off to sleep with thoughts of Mason and our lives together. I'm awakened from my peaceful sleep by the feeling of a hand on my cheek. My eyes jerk open and I find Aiden's face an inch away from mine. My blood runs cold as my breath hitches. When did he get back? I thought Alpha George sent him on a mission that was meant to take at least two weeks to complete. Why is he showing up a few days earlier than he's supposed to? "Did you miss me, sweetie?" He asks, lowering his head to give me a kiss on my cheek that makes my skin crawl just like it does anytime that he lays his hands on me. Unfortunately, that scenario happens more often than I would like. "W-what are you doing here?" I stammer. Seating up straight, I attempt to move away from him but freeze when his hand close around my neck. He places it there but doesn't squeeze. "I asked you a question and you haven't answered me yet." He brings his face closer to mine and I make out the glee in his eyes. "Did you miss me?" He repeats. He enjoys doing this. He enjoys making me squirm and tremble from fear of what he'll do to me. "Yes, I did," I lie. My face hurts from the fake smile that I'm forcing onto it. "Then why did I just hear that you're going to be moving out of the pack house tomorrow? Are you planning to run away from me?" He asks, his face twisting into something cruel and wicked. My eyes widen in fear. "I didn't have a choice. The Alpha King ordered it." He looks angry but lets out a sigh. "I guess it isn't your fault." Then his eyes darken. "Since this is going to be your last night here. It seems only fair that I give you a farewell present," he says with a dark grin and dread settles in my stomach. His lips press against mine and he lets out a groan just as I let out a muffled scream. Aiden uses that opportunity to push his tongue inside my mouth and my stomach turns, the possibility of me throwing up very real. I pound against his chest with my fists as he presses me into the mattress. My mouth is finally free when he moves down my neck to bite hard on my neck. "Get off me!" I beg, still beating hard against his chest. "Why are you fighting so much?" He groans as he pulls the neckline of my maid dress and rips it off my shoulder. "You're usually pliant and you just lie there and let me do whatever I want." "Please, don't do this," I beg with tears streaming down my face. He's right. Usually, I would lie still and let him do whatever he chooses because it's safer than sustaining broken ribs and fractured bones along with the molestation of my body. But I can't let that happen today. I've already met my mate and that means that he will feel Aiden taking advantage of my body and it will hurt him. I can't do that to my mate. "What the f**k is going on here?!" A voice hollers and a second later, Aiden is ripped off me. Clutching my ripped dress to my chest, I press my body against the headboard as I watch the scene in front of me. "You're supposed to be away for two weeks. What the f**k are you doing back here?" Alpha George asks his son. Aiden groans and runs his fingers through his hair in frustration. "I got tired of sitting in those stupid woods and scouting out for rogues that are never going to attack us. I had to come back home before I ran mad." Alpha George shakes his head in disdain. "You're an i***t and tomorrow, you're going to go back into those woods and finishing the mission." Aiden groans and throws his head back. "I'm f*****g tired of this stupid pack," he grumbles. Then his gaze falls on me and I coward away. "Why on earth is she moving into Mason's Pack?" "How did you hear about that?" Alpha George asks. "Mother told me about it," he answers. Alpha George groans and mumbles a few curses. "It's none of your f*****g business." He points to the door. "Get out of her room," he orders and my heart sings with joy. "Today is the last day that she's going to be here. I can't just let her leave like that." Alpha George looks at his son with disgust. "There's a reason why he wants her and I'll be damned if you put this Pack in jeopardy just because you couldn't keep it in your f*****g pants." He shoves his son towards the door. "Find some other wretch to sleep with." Aiden looks like he's about to refuse but the hard look on his father's face shuts him up. He growls and storms out of my room but not before slamming the door hard enough to rip it off its hinges. Alpha George shakes his head and pinchs the bridge of his nose. "I don't know why on earth I have that i***t as my son," he murmurs under his breath. Then his gaze moves onto me and I freeze. "I can't wait for you to get out of here. Maybe he'll finally start thinking straight." For the first time, I completely agree with him. I can't wait to be out of this Pack house.
