The king of Aba insisted that the immediate younger brother to the king of Mema must leave the throne and that tearing the documents would not in any way interfere with what he was saying and what he signed with the late king of Mema. The immediate younger brother to the king of Mema said he would use force to drive the king of Aba out of his kingdom if he did not leave at once. He was so angry and wanted to have his men arrest the king of Aba. The king Aba got angry that the immediate brother to the late king of Mema would take him for granted and someone he could do whatever he wished whenever he wished. He instead said. "I have seen that the the brother to our king wants to start a war. You kingmakers of Mema saw and read through the letter your late king sent me and you all equally read the documents containing the agreement between me and your late king and what was written in that document. Someone I bring will sit on the throne of Mema until the only son of the late king of Mema grows of age and able to manage the affairs of the kingdom. Until then someone I put on this throne should be allowed to be there" After he was through the brother to the late king refused to agree but the king makers agreed and there some of the generals of the king of Mema who agreed with them. There were some of the generals who did not agree and insisted that the younger brother to the late king of Mema should be crowned king and no one else. The brother then decided that if the king of Aba did not return to his kingdom with his men war would start. The king of Aba walked up to him and facing him he made him to understand that he was not afraid of war and that he should be the one to fear having fewer men to his beck and call. This annoyed the brother to the late king of Mema and he immediately commanded those on his side to start killing immediately. The king of Aba and his men did justice on that day. They fought and made sure that the younger brother to the late king of Mema saw what he did not expect. When the battle was over and the brother to the late king was vomiting blood and dragging himself on the floor the king of Aba followed him and began to cut off his parts one after another. The screaming of the brother to the late king of Mema could be heard outside as he begged to be spared while his remaining hand and leg trembled but the king of Aba would not have it so. He cut off his remaining hand and leg and the brother was vomiting blood. His blood filled the floor and death followed.
The king of Aba them turned to the rest and told them that he would be leaving some men back in Mema and then return to his land to prepare for the coronation of the representative of the Prince of Mema until the Prince come of age. The kingmakers of Mema having witnessed what took place immediately agreed by bowing down their heads. The king of Aba then left and returned to Aba where he invited his best friend Chezo and when Chezo arrived the king said to him. ,"I know that you are not ready for this and this is not what you expected but you see it came urgently and you must have heard of my battle in the land of Mema. I did not fight to overthrow the king of Mema rather I went there to fight for what rightfully belongs to him and to retain it for him. Theo plan now is that I want to retain it for him and I want you to help me retain it for him"
Chezo was confused and so he wanted the king to be specific and more plain with his words and so the king of Aba continued. "I am telling you that you will regain what the king of Mema has left behind because before he died; this that I am about to tell you now is for you to know where and how the whole thing began. I was on my own when the king of Mema sent me a message and in that message he made some remarks that got my attention. He was actually talking about his kingdom, his throne and how he would like me to come in and retain it for him while he joins his ancestors. He made this known in a letter and then a document which I signed and had to go to his land to see for myself and when i got there I saw that the king was dead and that his brother was already making plans to take over the throne of his elder brother whereas the king left a prince behind. I refused and needed to make sure I do what I was supposed to do and took it upon myself to remove the brother from the throne and now that the throne is empty I want you to occupy it until the Prince comes of age"
When the king of Aba was done talking the friend then cleared his throat and began, "I have heard all that you said, king of Aba and I am led to understand that you have made up your mind to do this and I am willing to help you retain the throne of Mema until you are ready to take it and hand it over to the prince of Mema. The king nodded but he had other intentions.
The next day the king of Aba returned to the palace of Mema and when he got there with his friend he saw that the throne was vacant as he left it and he told the king makers of Mema that he had chosen Chezo to be the representative. The kingmakers told him that they had expected him to get someone from Mema but the king of Aba told them that he had made his choice.
The people of Mema then crowned Chezo as the representative and waited for when the prince of Mema would come of age. The king of Aba said he would like to take the prince of Mema into his care and then raise him up in the ways of kings so that he would grow up and take over what his father left behind for him. When the king and the son of the late king of Mema returned to the land of Aba the king of Aba instead of treating him as his son he made him a servant and instead taught him how to serve in a palace instead. The son of the late king of Mema could not say no for the king of Aba was bent on making sure that he frustrated his life to the brim. He would be seen flogging him and subjecting him to hard labour. At some point the Prince decided to run away and go back to his father's land there complain of what the king of Aba was doing to him but when he reached he was surprised to learn that all the kingmakers and the elders of the palace had been replaced by some other people. When the representative of the king of Mema saw him return he asked, "Why did you come back. Did the king of Aba send you a message for me. if yes then what did he say?" When the representative was done talking the Prince made him to understand that the king of Aba had been terribly treating him so bad and that he was not prepared to return to his palace but then the representative shouted at him and warned him never to speak evil against the king of Aba. The Prince had to wonder why he was angry and then what evil he had said against the king of Aba. The representative warned him against treason and then sent him back to the palace of the king of Aba and the prince seeing that he was alone in his predicament had to return to the palace of the king of Aba crying and wishing that his father was alive to witness what he was passing through.
The son of the late king of Mema had come of age because it had been ten years since his father died and he was sixteen years old at that time. He then told the king of Aba that he had come of age and was noe ready to take what rightfully belonged to him. When the king of Aba asked to know what he was talking about the prince of Mema made him to understand that according to him ten years ago he would return the throne of Mema to the prince and heir to the throne of Mema and successor of the king of Mema. The prince also reminded him that the documents containing the agreement between him and his father was brought to the palace of Meme ten years ago by him when he wanted to show the kingmakers of Mema the evidence of the agreement. When he was done talking the king of Aba then asked "Where are the documents now?"
"They were torn to pieces by the late younger brother to my father before you killed him" answered the prince.
"And so? You think I am a fool? If I had not come for the rescue of the throne your father left behind would have grown to lay claim on it? Would it not have been your uncle who would seated on it by now? Or you think by now you would still he alive? I saved you from what he would have inflicted upon you and now you are not showing gratefulness and you stand in front of me to remind me about the past. I was in the past and I was the one who corrected the error of the past. You have no right to request for the throne of Mema. The throne of Mema will remain in the hands of my friend until I say otherwise. So for now stay away"
