The Alpha Must Die

Chapter.3

Chapter 3: I'm strong and powerful, I'm the Alpha.

“Don't you find it awkward? "I'm a bit nervous that your Mom and Dad wouldn't like me. I asked, glaring at him as though I was requesting an answer.

“Come on, Alexa, my parents aren't home yet. They all left for work, and they won't be back anytime soon”. Sam replied.

I gasped and widened my eyes… “Hey, so he lied to his grandmother”. I said to myself.

Upon hearing that, I wore a big smile on my face as my worries all vanished, and I was dancing inside the house.

I couldn't believe I would ever get a chance to enter such a big, beautiful mansion. I was ready to explore the entire house. It was like digging a never-ending hole. The more you dig, the deeper it goes. We went around the entire house, exploring every corner.

“I'm so happy to see you smiling so much," he said as he held my hands in the walkway.

“I mean, when I told Mom and Dad about bringing you home, Mom was against it, and I felt sad. But then, when Mom was away, Dad came to my side with me, and he told me that I could invite her over when they were both gone. Believe me, I was so thrilled to hear that. He said his face was beaming with smiles.

“My father, Alpha Theodore, has so many beautiful artworks because he loves drawing. I want to show you everywhere. I'll take you around the house premises, but first, the first place I want to show you is my favorite place.

“Come on, Alexa, I want to show you my playhouse," he said as he took my hand in his and ran to his playhouse.

He took me to his playhouse and showed me a lot of interesting things. His toys, his racing car, and beautiful games. They were so amazing. I have never seen so many toys in my whole life.

“Why do you have so many toys, Sam”? I asked as I couldn't take my eyes off the numerous toys that were in the room.

“You know, Alexa, it's just me and my parents. Since I lost my sister, I have never had any close friends or playmates, so I made toys for my companions. Once I'm bored with the old one, I get a new one. He replied.

“It's so cool”. I added.

“Yeah, I know, come on, let's play hide and seek. Please, Alexa, let's play hide and seek”. He pleaded.

“Are you joking around with me? You want to play hide and seek here. Come on, this is your home, I won't play. You'll win because it's your home. Instead, come sit, I have something to tell you”.

He joined me as I told him about the nightmare I had last night.

“That's weird, it seemed more like a warning danger. But there's nothing to worry about. "I'm strong, I'm powerful. I'm the Alpha”, he said.

“Alpha!

What do you mean by" Alpha? "Is it some sort of title? I asked.

“I don't know Alexa. Mom told me I should be brave, that once Dad is long gone, I'd take the lead. So I need to be strong”.

“I'm also strong and brave, it's just that those wild animals I saw in my dream scared me to death. But hey, I'm fine now”.

Do you know the meaning of liper..ception? I asked. " Hugh, what are you saying I don't get what you are asking me?

He said, squeezing his face as though he was trying to figure out the word I asked.

“I mean, I'm sure you will know, but I can't pronounce it properly. I couldn't further my studies so I could barely write or spell so much. I heard my grandmother murmuring about it. That's why I wanted to know what she meant by it”. I said bowing my head in disappointment.

“Don't worry, Alexa, I'll ask her about it. He replied.

“No, no, no, no, don't ask her, please, just let it be. I guess it's nothing important; otherwise, she would have told me about it”.

“Hey, I'm getting bored here. I thought I was going to have some fun”. I said, folding my hands as though I were upset.

“Fun!.. Let's play a racing game with my toy car. It'll be fun. He said while giving me the remote control game.

“No way, I'm not interested in playing any toy games with you. If you want, we can race around the house". I said, still folding my hands.

"Do you want to race? " Sam asked, raising his brows. "Of course, but I'll be chasing you. " I replied as I pushed him and he started running.

We raced all around the house, down to the outlet, where there was a big pool of water. “Come on, Alexa, come get me, or are you ready to admit you are a lazy princess and can't do anything better aside from giving orders?”. He said teasingly.

“I got upset and took to my heels running around the pool just to make sure I got him. While he was tired of running in circles, he went out of the outlet to another room. As I was about to join him, I tripped and accidentally fell into the pool.

“Sam... Saaam... help me. Please come and help. I ..I .. Can't.... Swimmm”. But ill-fated for me, Sam wasn't nearby, so he couldn't hear me. I started bobbing up and down in the water and I couldn't stop gulping in so much water as I had difficulty breathing. I was so scared to death, that I had concluded it was the end of my life.

I began to imagine how my grandmother would feel, and I continued fighting for my life. I fought until I got tired and was begging for mercy on my body. I can't do this anymore... I thought to myself, I accepted the fact that I would die and I stopped moving.
