Chapter 10

ALPHA WARREN'S POV

Pulling up at Alexa's house I turned off the engine and sighed heavily. “Warren what’s going on here? Is it true? Are Parker and Alexa mates?” Jake asked. I nodded and turned to him, “they are, I’ve known since the day of his punishment. Out of respect for Alexa I kept it to myself, she was afraid of Steven’s reaction and wanted some time before she told him.” 

“She was right to be afraid, I’ve never seen Steven like that before, he was always so calm and laid back....does anyone else know?” He asked. Again I nodded, “Louise, Zara and Kyle as far as I know, they’ve also kept it to themselves, they know the situation.” Jake nodded and pulled off his belt, “we better go see how they are.” Sighing again I pulled off my belt and climbed out of the car, walking up to the front door I stopped momentarily as it was wide open, “Zara!?” I called as not to startle her and stepped inside, “it’s Warren!” I added and slowly made my way down the hall towards the kitchen. 

“In here Alpha!” she called back. I walked into the kitchen with Jake behind me and took in the damage, the kitchen table was upside down on the floor, there was glass and other broken items on the floor. I sighed heavily as there was a little blood splattered on the far wall. “I’m sorry about the mess Alpha,” she sniffed pulling me from my thoughts. I looked over at her to see her tending to a head wound on Grace, walking to them I leaned in to have a better look, “did Steven do that?” “Is Alexa okay? Please Alpha tell me she's okay?” Zara whimpered. 

“She’s okay Zara, she’s with Parker, she’s fine,” I said softly and rubbed her arm. “Why don’t you sit down and I’ll finish that and make you a cup of tea,” Jake said as he lifted up the table and set it down. As he walked to us I took Zara's hand and led her to a chair, “I’m sorry if he made a scene at your house Alpha, everything happened so fast and Grace was hurt, the boys were outside yelling, Alexa was crying, I didn’t know what to do,” she said quietly. “The boys went after him, they’re probably at your house by now.” 

“Don’t worry about that now Zara, Alexa is in safe hands, what happened here? how exactly did Grace get hurt?” I asked. She sighed heavily and ran her hand through her hair, “Alexa came home and surprised us all by talking. After a few minutes she told us Parker was her mate, Steven went mad. He started yelling and flipped the table before grabbing Alexa by the throat and pinned her to the wall, Tyler pulled him off and struggled with him.” 

JAKE'S POV

I listened to Warren and Zara as I finished cleaning Grace's wound, sounds to me Steven really hates Parker. Zara sniffed and wiped her face as tears fell, “Grace ran to Alexa and pulled her up and out the door, she pushed her out the front door and told her to run. She tried to block Steven but he just shoved her aside, she fell and banged her head off the handrail of the stairs.” I smiled at Grace and stepped back, “all done, are you in any pain?” “just a little headache, I’ll be fine, thank you Jake,” she said quietly. “Don’t mention it kid, go sit with your mom, I’ll make you tea,” I said and walked to the kettle. 

Just as I’d finished making the tea Kyle burst through the front door “Mom! Grace!” he panted and ran into the kitchen. He stopped when he spotted me and Warren before taking in the scene, “what the hell happened? James called in a panic and said I needed to get here fast.” I walked to the table and set cups in front of Warren and the girls. “We should talk outside,” I said and walked to the door. “Mom are you okay?” he asked looking her all over. “I’m fine Kyle, go with Jake,” she replied and gave him a weak smile. 

He followed me outside and waited for me to speak, “Alexa told your dad Parker was her mate, he flipped.” “Damn it,” he sighed and closed his eyes, “what happened? Is she okay?” “he attacked her, but she’s okay she’s with Parker,” I added quickly as his eyes went wide. “What happened? Did her hurt her?” he growled. “Your mom says he pinned her to the wall by the throat then chased her out of the house. He turned up at Warren’s house holding her by the hair. Parker went berserk, we had to hold him back,” I replied. 

"Where is my dad now?” he asked. “I don’t know, he tried to get Parker and Alexa to reject each other but they both refused. He walked away after that telling Alexa she was no longer part of your family and she wasn’t to contact any of you or show up at the house.” “where is Alexa? I need to see her,” he sighed. Warren had Parker take her to get checked out, she’s upset and in shock, I’d leave her for tonight,” I said and took a step closer to him. “I think you should stay here with your mom and sister, they’re both shaken up.” 

He nodded and turned back to the house, “I need to call my brothers and make sure they’re okay, if I see my dad you’ll have a body on your hands,” he replied and walked back into the house. I pulled my phone from my pocket as it beeped to see a message from Parker, opening it I read it and sighed heavily; 'Alexa is a mess, doc is keeping her overnight will you tell my dad I'm staying here.' Blowing out a deep breath I replied and walked back into the house....this was gonna be a long night. 

PARKER'S POV 

I sat by Alexa’s bedside just watching her as she slept, she’d been hysterical the whole way here just saying she was sorry over and over again. She’d cried herself to sleep holding my hand tight, sitting back in the chair I lifted my free hand and ran it through my hair. She was staying with me whether she liked it or not, no way was she going back to that house. Her dad was so mad, I couldn’t see him calming down anytime soon. 

I looked up as a tap came to the door to see her brother Tyler looking in, he stepped in and closed the door behind him. “How is she?” he asked as he walked to the bed. “She's okay, no injuries apart from her lip, she’s upset and in shock, she cried herself to sleep....is your mom and Grace okay?” I asked, Alexa had briefly ran through what happened. “Grace fell and banged her head but she’s okay, mom is upset and worried about Alexa,” he replied and sat at her other side. “I wanna jump over this bed and punch you around for even being near my sister, but something tells me I’ll be in big trouble if I do.” 

“Do what you want to me Tyler, I deserve it,” I replied. “why didn’t she tell anyone?” he asked. “She wanted to wait until her voice was back so she could tell your dad first,” I said. He was silent for a minute before he looked at me, “do you love her?” I leaned forward and smiled down at her “more than anything in this world.” “Will you take care of her?” he asked next. “I’d give my life for her,” I replied instantly. He stared at me for a minute before he nodded and stood up, “I guess if Alexa can forgive you and move on I can too, I’m happy for her, I want her to be happy. You ever hurt her in any way I will kill you, we clear?” 

“Crystal,” I nodded, “you have nothing to worry about, I’ll take good care of her...thank you Tyler, it’ll mean a lot to her, and me too.” He bent down and kissed Alexa on the head and stood up straight, “I better go check on things at home, I’ll call you later to check on her,” he said and walked to the door. “Where’s your dad?” I asked before he could leave. “I don’t know, he was gone by the time we got to yours. If he does turn up here you have my permission to do whatever you need to to keep Alexa safe.” “Trust me, he won’t make it through the door...let me know how your mom is and I’ll get Alex to call her in the morning,” I replied. He nodded and left the room, I looked back at Alexa and smiled as her nose twitched. Leaning in I pushed some hair away from her face, “no one will ever hurt you again babe, I promise.” 

ALEXA'S POV 

Later that night I woke up to a dark room, sitting up I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. My head was pounding, my eyes stung from all the crying, my lip also stung from the punch my dad gave me. I jumped as a hand landed on my back, “are you okay babe?” Parker asked. I looked at him for a second and looked away I still felt so guilty about causing all this trouble. Shrugging his hand away I lay down and rolled away from him. 

I heard him sigh and felt the bed dip, “don’t shut me out Alex,” he said softly. I blinked a few times as tears welled in my eyes, “it’s all my fault,” I whispered, “this is all happening because of me.” He slid onto the bed and wrapped his arm around me, leaning over me he kissed my cheek, “we couldn’t keep it a secret forever Alex, no one knew he was going to react that way. It’s done now, there’s nothing we can do about it now but hope he calms down and accepts us.” 

“He said I wasn’t part of the family anymore, he said I couldn’t go home....what happens now?” I whimpered. “He was angry and upset, he loves you Alex he didn’t mean it. Until things calm down you’ll be staying with me.” I sighed and rolled to face him, “do you think your parents will be mad at me for him bursting in like that?” he leaned in and kissed me quickly, “no babe they’re not mad. My dad has already called to see how you are, my mom too. My dad is over at your place with my uncle, your mom and sister are okay too.” 

“Is my dad there?” I asked. “No,” he sighed, “Tyler was here a while ago to check on you, he said they lost him after my house.” I nodded and scooted closer to him, “do you think he'll find me here?” “No,” he replied “he doesn’t know you’re here, he won’t get near you again babe I promise.” I sighed deeply and lay my head on his chest, “do you still want this? Do you still want me?” I asked in an almost whisper. 

He put his knuckles under my chin and tilted my head up, “Alex, I want you more than anything I’ve ever wanted in my whole life. Things are messy now but they will get better, you need to sleep babe it’s late.” I wrapped my arm around him and held him tight, “I love you so much Parker, all I wanted was for us to be together and not have to hide it.” “It’s out now, we don’t have to hide anymore Alex, I love you too, nothing will ever ruin that.....go to sleep, you’ll feel better in the morning,” he said and pulled me closer. 

ZARA'S POV

The next morning I was still awake and sitting in my kitchen, only an hour ago I’d convinced Alpha Warren and Jake to leave that I’d be fine as long as I knew Alexa was okay. I looked up as glass crunched out in the hall, two seconds later Steven appeared in the doorway. He stared at me for a minute before he had the decency to look down at the floor in shame. “I’m sorry,” he said after a minute.

I stood up and walked to him I waited for him to look up at me and slapped him hard across the face, “sorry isn’t going to cut it this time!” I yelled. “You hurt my children! You are a disgusting man and I want you out of here! You have one hour to get your things and go!” I yelled and walked around him. 

“Zara,” he whimpered and held my arm gently, “I’m so sorry, I don’t know what came over me, I don’t remember much of what happened. I’m so sorry please don’t do this.” I scoffed and pulled my arm away, “if you don’t remember then you need help Steven, coz I remember! Alexa remembers! Grace remembers! Tyler and James remember!” I yelled. “You punched my daughter in the face! Held her by the throat!” I screamed and slapped him again. 

“Then you pushed her sister who was only trying to protect her causing her to fall and bang her head! You are a disgrace Steven you don’t have the right to be called a father after what you did! Get your stuff and get out!” I growled and hurried off up the stairs. 

A few minutes later he appeared in the bedroom doorway, “I honestly haven’t got the energy for this right now Steven, I’ve been up all night, please just go,” I whimpered. “Where are the kids?” he asked. “Tyler and James are asleep, they’ve been out looking for you all night. Grace was afraid to stay here so she’s gone to a friends,” I replied. “And Alexa?” he asked quietly. 

I lifted my head and narrowed my eyes, “lying in a hospital bed traumatised, you know being attacked by your father, dragged to your boyfriend’s house by the hair then being told you’re not longer apart of your family and you’re dead to your father will surely send anyone over the edge.” 

He looked down at the floor and sighed heavily, “I didn’t mean any of it Zara,” he said and started to walk towards me. “I was blinded by rage and blacked out, I’m not saying it’s an excuse but that’s what happened,” he said and dropped to his knees in front of me. “Please baby please,” he said and took my hands, “I love you so much, I love all of our kids so much, please don’t make me leave. I’ll go see Alexa now and beg for her forgiveness, I’ll do whatever it takes to make things right, just please don’t make me leave,” he begged. I sighed and stood up, “we need some space, please leave and do not contact Alexa,” I said and walked out of the room...this was best for now. 

AARON'S POV

Walking out of the hospital I was so mad at myself, I’d busted my arm playing basketball this morning. Thankfully it wasn’t broken just a bad sprain. I was acting the i***t and stupidly fell off a wall trying to shoot from the other end of the court...it didn’t work out so well. 

Looking up I saw a familiar figure running towards me, “Callie?” I called as she ran by me....then it hit me. Her beautiful scent of raspberries filled my nose, no way! It couldn’t be! “mate,” my wolf barked. “Aaron?” she panted as she skidded to a stop, “what are you doing here?” she asked as I walked her. Once I was close enough she gasped, her eyes went wide, “you’re my mate?” she gasped out. “Yeah, seems like it,” I said awkwardly, “what are you doing here?” I added after she just stared at me. “I ran into James on my way to school, Alexa was attacked last night she’s here with Parker, I gotta go!” she called and ran off. 

“Hey! Wait!” I called and ran after her, “what do you mean she was attacked? What happened? Is she okay?” “I don’t know, James just said she was attacked and was here with Parker, he was in a hurry,” she replied as she impatiently pressed the button for the elevator. “I’ll come with you, do you know where you’re going?” I asked as we stepped into the elevator. “Yeah, fourth floor room sixteen,” she replied and looked over at me, “what are you doing here?” “Thought I broke my arm, it’s just a sprain though,” she nodded and looked ahead of her, “what are the chances of us being mates huh?” she chuckled.

I stepped in front of her, “when was your birthday?” I asked. “yesterday,” she replied. I nodded and stepped closer to her, “do you want us to be mates?” She surprised me by standing on her toes and kissing me quickly, “yeah, do you?” she asked shyly. I backed her up against the wall and kissed her slowly, sliding my hands around her waist I pulled her closer and slid my tongue in. This was amazing, she was making me feel things I’d never felt before, I was one hundred percent sure I wanted her. 

Pulling back I looked down on her, “does that answer your question?” she giggled and kissed me again, “we'll talk later,” she said and pulled away as the doors opened. Catching up to her I slid my hand into hers and smiled when she laced our fingers together. “We keep this between us for now, Alexa and Parker have enough going on,” she said once we got to Alexa's door. “Agreed,” I said and pulled my hand from hers. 

PARKER'S POV 

I looked towards the door as a knock came to it to see Callie peering in with a worried expression on her face. I waved my hand for her to come in, to say I was surprised when Aaron followed her was an understatement. “How is she?” she whispered as she walked to the bed. “she's fine, just tired,” I replied. “What happened man?” Aaron asked. 

I sighed and sat back in the chair, “she told her dad we were mates and it all kicked off, he attacked her and dragged her to my house. He tried to make her reject me, it was a mess.” “Her dad did this?” Callie gasped, “Parker I’m so sorry,” she added. “Yeah, me too, is there anything you need?” Aaron asked. “Actually there is,” I said and looked at Callie, “she’s gonna be staying with me, can you go to her house and ask her mom to pack a bag for her and drop it to my house?” 

“Of course,” she nodded, “but can I stay until she wakes up?” I nodded and turned to Aaron, “you can take off if you want.” “I’m good here,” he replied and glanced at Callie, “I brought Callie here,” he added quickly. I looked over to Callie and saw her send him a sweet smile before she looked back to Alexa....was I picking up on something here? “okay,” I said and turned back to Alexa as she moved. 

“Morning babe,” I said as she opened her eyes. “Hey, what time is it?” she asked as she stretched out. “Nine, Callie and Aaron are here to see you,” I said and sat beside her. She sat up and looked to the other side of the bed, “hey guys,” she said. Callie gasped and stepped closer to her, “you’re voice is back...I’m so glad you’re okay Lex, is there anything you need?” “No I’m okay, you really didn’t need to come Callie, I’m going home today,” she replied. 

“Of course I did, you’re my best friend I was worried,” she replied. Alexa smiled quickly and turned to me, “I need a drink, can you take money from my jeans and go get me a coke please?” “Sure babe,” I said and stood up. “we'll go, Parker you stay here,” Callie said and walked towards the door. “Wait, my money,” Alexa giggled. “it’s fine, I have money,” she said and left the room with Aaron following her. 

"Damn, should have asked for water too,” she groaned. I dropped a kiss on her forehead and stood up, “I’ll catch them at the elevator,” I said and left the room. Getting to the corner I turned and stopped in my tracks, Aaron had his arms around her and was kissing her....I knew I picked up on something. Smirking I walked to them and cleared my throat laughing when they both sprang apart, “care to explain?” 

“We’re mates, I’m sorry I didn’t want to bother you and Alexa with it,” Callie said quickly. Well that was not what I expected to hear, “wow, that’ great news, congrats I’m happy for you both. Callie, tell Alexa when you come back, she’ll want to know....she also wants a bottle of water too!” I called as I walked back towards her room. 

ALEXA'S POV 

Parker came back into the room and chuckled to himself before sitting back beside me, “what are you laughing at?” I asked. He chuckled again and leaned into me, “no reason,” he murmured and kissed me. Sliding his hand onto my cheek he deepened the kiss and tugged me closer. After a minute he pulled back “how about me you, Callie and Aaron get a pizza later and watch a movie? It’ll take your mind off things.” 

“Oh I don’t know,” I replied, “it was Callie's birthday yesterday, she might have plans with someone....I’m not sure Aaron will want to hang out with us either.” “I’ll ask them when they get back,” he said and slid his arm around me. “How are you feeling today about everything?” 

I sighed deeply and leaned against him, “I need to call my mom and see how things are, I’m sure she’s worried.” “I told Tyler to tell her you were okay and that you’d call this morning. My dad and uncle stayed there last night along with Kyle so everything is okay over there.” Before I could reply the door opened and Callie and Aaron walked in, I frowned as Callie looked at Parker and blushed before glancing at Aaron and walked to me. “What was that about?” I asked as she handed me my drinks. “Nothing,” she said and sat down looking everywhere but at me. 

“Callie?” I drawled, “you can’t lie.” “Okay, Okay,” she groaned, “Aaron and I are mates, we literally just found out when I ran into him on my way up here. I didn’t want to burden you with it,” she muttered. “No way!” I shrieked and shot forward, “you’re mates? Are you happy?” “Oh yes,” Aaron chuckled and sat on the arm of her chair, “I got the girl of my dreams right here,” he said smiling down on her. 

My face lit up I was so happy for them, “oh this is great news, I’m so happy for you, this is so exciting! What are the chances of our best friends being mates too? This is awesome!” I squealed and clapped my hands. Parker chuckled and pulled me back to him, “what do you guys say we get out of here and spend the day together?” he asked. “We can go do something then later we can go back to mine and watch a movie with Pizza or something.” 

Callie nodded and stood up, “I’m in, I just need to go home and get my phone and stuff. Lex, I’ll stop by yours and get clothes off your mom for you.” Call us if you need anything else! We'll be back soon!” Aaron called as they left the room hand in hand. “Aww, they’re so cute,” I cooed watching them go. “What about me?” Parker pouted. I giggled and leaned into him, “you’re gorgeous and sexy and hot and so so handsome,” I giggled and kissed him....things didn’t seem so bad after all.
