Ally’s POV
I’m still laying in the basement. A basement I realized I didn’t even know we had until now.
There are no windows which made it hard for me to determine how long I’ve been here.
My body is ice cold which is the only reason why I can’t feel the pain. The blood had stopped running but I felt dizzy, exhausted, and extremely hungry although I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to eat anything.
My father hasn’t been down here since I woke up and I’m not even sure he was home. Maybe, just maybe it would go away if I just closed my eyes. Just for a little bit, I thought before drifting into unconsciousness.
BANG
“Ally? Ally!”
Dylan? No that can’t be.
“Get those chains off, now!”
*Muffled voices*
Hmm, how strange where does the warmth come from?
*muffled sounds*
“You’re gonna be okay, you hear me? Hang in there, Ally.”
Am I flowing? Why am I flowing?
“Hang in there.”
Dylan’s POV
We had the entire house surrounded within an hour. Every exit was blocked.
Brody, a few men, and I went through the front door to search through the house.
“I want every floor cleared! Go!” I said as they scattered through the hallways.
I went through a door to what seemed to be his office. Papers were thrown everywhere; a lamp was broken and there was blood on the floor. It looked like a murder scene. What the hell happened here?
“Boss, there’s no sign of Mr. Kent anywhere,” one of my men said.
“All floors have been cleared,” Brody said as he came through the door.
“What about Ally?” I asked
“Ally?”
“His daughter.”
“No sign of her either,” he said and looked around. “What the hell happened in here?”
“I don’t know.”
As I said that the uneasy feeling came back.
“We must be missing something,” I mumbled. “Brody give me the drawings over the house.”
“Here.”
He handed me the blueprints as I laid them down on the desk.
“What are you looking for?” He asked.
“That,” I said and pointed to the bottom of the blueprint. “That is what a hidden basement looks like on a blueprint. Now we just need to find the entrance to it! Search for it!”
“Yes, boss.”
Ten minutes later one of my men yelled from underneath the staircase.
“Boss down here!”
I went to where he was.
“Has it been cleared yet?” I asked as I ducked under the stairs and came through a small hall filled with doors.
“No, it’s being done as we speak,”
I didn’t have time to answer before Brody’s voice echoed through the basement.
“Dylan you might want to see this.”
I walked through the door to the room he was in and was met with the sight of some of our missing weapons.
“So, this is where he keeps them before selling them,” I mumbled. “How many boxes are there?” I asked.
“Looks like there’s around 15,” Brody said. “Nowhere near the amount that was stolen.”
“He must have already sold the rest,” I said and scratched my neck. “At least we got some of them back.”
I turned around to two of my men.
“I want this room cleared fast and the boxes loaded onto the trucks. We are taking this back with us and everything else you can find.”
“Yes, boss.”
“Boss!” I turned around as one of my men approached me. “We found a girl.”
A girl? Ally!
“Show me!”
He led me to the back of the basement and went through a rusty door that my men had had to break down to get through. The smell of blood hit my nose instantly and my eyes met with a terrible sight. There she was. Lying lifeless on the ground still in her gown which meant she had been down here for the past two days. She was chained down to the floor in such a way that made her body lay in a weird twisted position.
“Ally? Ally!” I yelled as I ran over and crouched down.
She was as cold as ice and extremely pale. I checked her pulse. It was very slow, but it was there.
“Get those chains off, now!” I yelled at no one specifically.
I pushed her bloody hair out of her face to be met with a face I didn’t recognize. Her face was swollen, and cuts and bruises were covering most of it.
“Who did this to her?” Brody whispered horrified by the sight in front of him.
And I understood him. She was so tiny. Not taller than 5’4 feet and couldn’t possibly weigh more than around 50-55 kg. How her body could handle this kind of treatment I do not know. She’s a strong one.
“I’m pretty sure her father did,” I sighed.
Did this happen because I went after her that night?
The second the chains were off; I took my jacket and tried my best not to hurt her further as I put it on her in an attempt to warm her body.
“Her father did this? Are you sure?”
“I’m sure,” That was all I said.
“You’re gonna be okay, you hear me? Hang in there, Ally,” I said as I lifted her limp body up from the ground and carried her out.
“Hang in there.”
I carried her out in one of our cars. Brody jumped in the front seat and sped off.
I couldn’t take her to a normal hospital due to the many questions we wouldn’t be able to answer, so I had to call my dad to make sure that we had a few doctors at the house for when we arrived.
To say he was shocked was an understatement. Currently, Brody was driving like a maniac to reach the house faster, while I was in the backseat with Ally holding her as tight as I could without breaking her.
I wanted her to feel somewhat safe, not that I exactly know how to do so. I couldn’t wake her or get her to respond in any way which made the uneasy feeling in my stomach grow. I shouldn’t have let her walk out that door the night of the ball. I shouldn’t even have chased after her. She didn’t deserve this. None of it.
