As Lily walked towards the Alpha's room, she could feel her heart beating nervously. She had no idea why she was this nervous. "was this the feeling that came with turning eighteen?" She thought to herself. She ignored her thoughts and knocked on the huge metal door, she held the ceramic food tray in her hand. The Alpha had demanded his breakfast to be brought upstairs. "Come in," a deep masculine voice called out. She breathed in and out before she pushed the door open. On entering his room, a strong scent of sandalwood and mint hit her nostrils. Her wolf's instinct instantly got aroused. Tera leaped for joy inside her. Why did she feel this way? This wasn't the first time she was this close to the Alpha. She pushed Tera to the back of her mind so she could concentrate. Greg was dressed in his white robe, he looked more handsome than ever with his black hair covering his sea-blue eyes. He sat on the bed looking so tempting. He looked as if he was surprised to see Lily. She was agitated, his glowing eyes met with hers and her hands began to shake, causing the contents of the tray to slide. Something felt different. Lily placed the tray on the table in his room and made her way to the door. He got up from his bed and walked to stop her from leaving. She was too shy and nervous to say a word. She tried to open the door but he was faster than her. "Are you scared of me?" Greg finally broke the long silence. His hands met with hers and she couldn't contain the uproar in her heart, it was as if she was going to explode. "No...but," Lily paused, how was she going to tell him he was her mate? She was just an ordinary Omega and he already had a sassy girlfriend. Victoria would kill her if she found out Lily had feelings for her boyfriend let alone her being his mate. Lily wasn't even a member of this pack. She was brought here when she was three years old by Greg's father, Leo. "Sorry, I have to leave now." She managed to say, luckily for her, Greg didn't protest, he walked back and she flung the door open. When she got outside, she ran as fast as her tiny legs could carry her, embarrassed at the stunt she just pulled. How was she going to face him after now? Greg and Victoria had been dating for a few months now, Lily felt he knew that she was his mate but why didn't he say anything if he did? Did he feel the same way? She didn't know she was still running until she started coughing. She finally stopped running and tried to catch her breath. Her heart was pounding loudly, was this the punishment she had to face for falling in love? As much as she hated the members of the Royal family, she couldn't stop her heart from accepting love, she hated this. She always had a huge crush on Greg since she stepped into the Sunville pack but it wouldn't make sense to fall in love with the son of the man who killed her father. She has been a maid for thirteen years now, Her dream had always been to find her mate so that all her suffering could end. Greg's father was the former Alpha before he handed over to Greg, he was the man behind her misery. He killed the entire members of her pack. She was the only survivor of the Woodville pack. *** Lily felt a hand pulling the torn cloth she used to wrap her legs, she always did that because the room was filled with blood-sucking mosquitoes. "Sleeping beauty, you better stand up. It's 7 a.m. already and you're still sleeping?" It was Zoe, her best friend. "No….I want to sleep more," Lily whined in frustration as she banged her hands on the floor where she lay. Servants usually lie on the floor or a mat, Lily didn't see the use of a mat. "I hope you know it's still your turn to work in the Alpha's corner today," Zoe asked and made her way to the door. "s**t! And you are just waking me up? I'm dead. Alpha's mother is going to kill me today." Lily searched for anything decent she could put on, she made her hair into a rough ponytail and joined Zoe who was already out of the servant's quarters. "I told you to sleep early yesterday but only you know what you've been hiding from me, you've forgotten I'm your best friend," Zoe said when Lily finally caught up with her. "It's nothing important, I'll sort it out," Lily said, trying to change the discussion. Lily and Zoe never hide anything from each other, but Lily doesn't tell Zoe that she has a crush on Greg. She was scared Zoe would laugh at her for having such high hopes. "I'm sure you both have a clock in your quarters," it was Jane; Greg's mother. She was hot-tempered, Lily knew she was in deep s**t today. "I'm sorry, I overslept." Zoe gave Lily a surprised look, oops that came out wrongly, she would have given another excuse. "The Alpha has an announcement to make tomorrow at the central area. That place has to be arranged. Meet him and get all the information you need," Jane said. There was something different about her. The normal Jane would have flared up and given them extra work to do today. "Okay," they said in unison and disappeared from her sight before she changed her mind. "What came over the former Luna?" It was Zoe, she was as surprised as Lily. The former Luna, Jane, wasn't this nice. She wasn't even near nice. "If you ask me, who will I ask?" Lily said, shaking her head. "Please, go and meet him alone and give me all the feedback. I promised Paul I'll get him breakfast this morning before I come to wake you up, you this sleepy head" Zoe tapped Lily's forehead as she made to leave. Paul was Zoe's boyfriend, they had been dating secretly for three months now. Servants were not allowed to go into a relationship but Zoe was so stubborn. "No, no. Please follow me," Lily pleaded, grabbing the hem of Zoe's shirt. Zoe wore a confused look, she looked into Lily's eyes and saw that Lily was shy. "Since when did you need an escort to see Alpha Greg?" Lily didn't say anything, she just played with her fingers and pouted her lips. "No way!!!. Tell me what I'm thinking is wrong," Zoe screamed, her eyes widened a bit and she jumped like a little child. "Stop screaming, Jane will hear us, and we have work to do. Let's just go," Lily said in a hushed tone as she pulled Lily towards the direction of the Alpha's quarters. "No, we are not doing that." "Doing what?" What was Zoe talking about this time? Lily thought to herself. "You won't shut me out for the second time, I knew you had something in your mind since yesterday. You had better start spilling or Jane would come here and meet us." Zoe never took no for an answer. "Alpha Greg is my mate," Lily blurted, she didn't even know why she said it that bluntly. It felt good in her eyes. "Oh, my girl. I always knew royalty would find you back somehow," Lily squealed, as she pulled her best friend in a tight hug. "But I'm conf…" Lily wasn't done with her statement when they heard a voice. "What is the celebration about?" They knew that voice, it was Victoria. Lily froze, her heart was beating faster than normal. Did Victoria hear her say that her boyfriend was her mate? "I'm dead," Lily muttered to herself.
