Pacing around the room did not help settle my wandering thoughts the door rang and I headed straight for the intercom, it was Preston. I hurriedly fixed my face in case I was showing any signs of worry.
“what’s up? Why do you look so worried,” he asks as he reaches for his weapon behind him.
“calm down Romeo. you know I can take care of myself. sit, we need a stiff drink for this ”, I answer him and head for the refrigerator and grab two cans of Apple Cider.
“This is your stiff drink? Apple Cider?” he asks with a chuckle. I am glad I was able to release the tension that was building up.
