Looking through the dead man’s phone was a sight for our sore eyes, Preston's especially. Not only had he lied about getting the contract from Xavier, but he’d also been lying about the photos as well. Through the texts and emails, we were able to go through, it was clear he was one of Xavier’s men desperate for his attention. He must have thought offering our heads on a tray would have made Xavier notice him as his right-hand man. Other texts showed he had been the one to take photos of us before we left for fisherman’s town. He was so obsessed with Xavier that they deserved each other.
