“Did you find everything?” Karen said, trying to end her sniffling.
“Sure did. Finally. I had to go to several different stores though.”
“Yeah, it would be nice if you could find everything at one place.”
“Hey, Suzie Q, I noticed you didn’t have a date book to schedule all your important meetings in, so I bought you this for next year.” He reached into a bag and handed Suzie a shiny leather Day-Planner with “1970” stenciled in gold leaf print on the front.
“Oh wow! This is great,” she said as she reached up to give Terry a big hug.
“If I gave your mom a nice gift, do you think she’d give me a hug?” Terry whispered to her as she hugged him.
“I bet she would.”
“Now, Terry, you need to quit spoiling her this close to Christmas, or Santa won’t bring her anything.”
