Chapter 20 Jason pulled into the IGA parking lot at 9:45 on Christmas Eve morning. There sat his pal Mike in his dad’s Chevrolet Impala S/S. The two friends got out, grabbed each other in a big bear hug, but then faked a couple of jabs to each other’s head in case anyone should be watching. The two went into to the store and walked to the back-storage room. Jason pulled up a large box containing fifty pounds of red, white and green striped candy canes, a fifty-pound box of oranges, and a twenty-five-pound box of assorted nuts. “Let me give you a hand,” Mike said. “No. No. That’s it,” Jason said, not wanting his friend to exhaust himself too quickly. “I need to grab about five empty cereal boxes and some paper bags.
