Jason arrived at the store ten minutes before time to start his shift. He had been thinking about what he could do for the kids in Fries. He remembered how one of his favorite things about Christmas was his stocking with various fruit and candy. He went straight to the store owner’s office.
“Mr. Powers,” Jason said, after lightly tapping on the doorframe, “do you have a couple of minutes?”
“Sure, come in.” Mr. Powers flashed his ever-present smile.
“I’m Jason Campbell. I’m working during Christmas break.”
