Chapter 15
Terry awoke Sunday morning to the smell and sound of bacon sizzling. How he loved Cynthia’s waffles. He first had them three years earlier on New Year’s morning in Winston-Salem. Jonathan and Cynthia had spent the night at Terry’s apartment. The night before, they had celebrated New Year’s at a local restaurant. In addition to the three, there was also Denise, a 26-year-old kindergarten teacher who was a friend of Cynthia’s. This was the first of many girls Cynthia had tried to match up with Terry. All the girls were very nice, moral girls, a trait Terry wasn’t sure he was looking for at that time in his life. Terry had to smile to himself. Who would Cynthia use her matchmaking skills on now that he was no longer eligible? Or, at least, he hoped he wouldn’t be.
