The Forgotten Chapters of Our Luna

5 Years Prior.. The heat and pain over took my body as I fell to the floor. All I could do was grab my chest as my knees buried themselves inward bringing them into my hands. Within a matter of seconds I felt a cooling hand touch my back. “ Get up Cora. I know you are in pain, but you are mid transition. We have to get you outside.” That voice. It was so.. calming. I reached up for the coffee table trying to use every ounce of strength that I had to pull myself off the floor. Once I was up, Lina helped me out the door. I was always warned that the transition was painful, but I never knew it was this bad. The smells of everything around me became more admit with each step I took. I began to look around as a surge of energy began to over take my body. The leaves on the trees caught my eyes first. The contrast of the fall colors seemed more admit than they did the day before. Without thought I found myself running to the wooded area ahead. I needed to feel the breeze of the crisp air around me. “Wilson! She’s headed to the eastern woods!” I could hear from behind me. He had always promised to be there. As I had always been promised, I found him at the tree line. I could see the worry in his eyes as I fell to the ground again. “ Don’t fight it. Try to breath and loosen your muscles. It’ll be over in a matter of minutes,” I could hear him say. My breathing picked up even faster and the grass below me began to spin. The first crack earned a scream from me as I began to feel my bones shift. After the third crack, darkness over took me as it felt like I was taking my last breath. Present Day.. *Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.* The sound began to become louder and louder as my eyes began to flicker open. “What is that annoying sound?,” I whisper out as my eyes struggle to adjust. I reach my hands up to rub my eyes as I start to realize my arms feel weak. I blink and begin to look around the room. There’s a monitor and an iv that is dripping some kind of clear liquid into me on my right that I notice first. My eyes grew wide at the sight as it began to click in my head where I was. “What is going on,” I said loudly looking around the room. There were two empty chairs on my left and an open door where I could see what looked like a check in counter would. I began trying to take out the iv as fear began to build within me. Why was I in the hospital? What happened to me? So many questions began to fill my head. I was too lost in thought trying to get the iv out that I hadn’t realized anyone at the door way “ Cora? Wha-. Hey don’t do that!” I jumped up startled by the unknown voice. It was a middle aged man who had to be about 6’2 with dark brown hair. Within seconds he was at my side examining my iv. I froze as panic began to hit me like a ton of bricks. Who was this man and why did he know my name? Seeing my tense body the man stepped away quickly. “ I am Dr.Laken and you are at River Mane Hospital. Mr.Crafton will be here in a little bit.,” he said scanning me with his dark green eyes as if I was some kind of strange creature. “ What am I doing here?.” I asked quickly as my panic began to leave my body at the knowledge of knowing I was still in pack grounds. Dr.Laken looked over at the wall before looking back at me. “I will let Mr.Crafton explain. While you wait would you like some water?” I could tell he was now the one trembling at the unknown rather than me. I nodded looking off at the door. Quietly Dr.Laken walked out and disappeared. So many questions ran through my mind as I waited patiently. Before I knew it I could hear a rush of footsteps outside the door. “ Cora!” Oh how happy I was to hear his voice. I smiled slightly with tears in my eyes as I saw Wilson rush through the door. He looked rough and tired as he made his way to me. Taking my face into his hands he searched my eyes. What was he doing? “ Cora. I thought you would never wake up,” I hear from behind him. I look slightly over Wilson’s shoulder to see a crying Lina. “ What’s going on?,” I ask quickly removing Wilson’s hands from my face as Lina walks up quickly to the side of the bed. “Cora. Darling.. You went into a coma mid transition.” Lina says with tears still streaming down her eyes as she grabs my hand. My eyes widen at her words and I look to Wilson for answers. “H-How long was I out,” I tremble out. “ Cora.. Today makes 5 years since your transition,” Wilson said with a concerned look on his face.
