"Live a Little"

1116 Words
I remember being woken up by my parents a couple of days after the whole thing with Tyler. They let me travel by myself to Italy where my grandmother lives. Luckily enough there was this online schooling program made by Oceanview, so that's what I did there. Ah, that is all I remember doing there. Cuts of time, day and night, light and dark; I couldn't differentiate between them. Coming back, I feel different, new and I see so much more than I used to. I don't know myself anymore. She called it the preparation for what is to come, meaning, what is to unearthed and rebirthed. The new one understands and the old is trapped deep inside in a glass case. Each day I'd wake up strands of my hair would glow red then the colour would stick permanently. All these occurrences took place within the span of three weeks. I guess being in a huge castle on an island is a bit medieval and strange. Ask me why but unfortunately I can only recall arriving there, school work and leaving there. Whatever, I am just glad to be back and fresh into the weekend of Tyler's birthday. Yes, we haven't been in contact with each other since. The last message he had sent was an invite to this masquerade themed birthday party. Don't you just love going unawares? Mhmm...no, well I do. It's absolutely riveting and boy do I have a surprise for him. Friday came, and I spent the whole day with my family and friends. *************************************************************************************************************** The evening closed the curtains quickly on the sunset and all the creatures that lived at night, skipped and played happily while others were busy surviving and trying better their lives and well being. I, on the other hand, was ready to make this the most memorable moment forever. History must repeat itself. I sat on the stool in front of my vanity in a sweetheart mesh blue velvet crop top, the matching two-piece skirting with magenta layers underneath. My stomach was lined with jewelry and my accessories dazzling about me. I watched myself in the mirror while the last touch of make-up was being put on while my open toe black and gold gladiator heels were placed on my feet. After all is said and done, my butler escorted me out to the stretched limo that awaited me. The last thing I glimpsed was my parents' menacing smile and such a smile transcended to me as well. Like I'd suspected, the Valesquez didn't keep their son's party in their actual home. Of course not, that would be stupid of them with so many outsiders attending. Before I knew it, the driver stopped in the courtyard of one of their more suitable manors. Jaedane nodded in my direction and went to stand in wait. Scratch that, his date hugged him and they went inside. Pshhhhh, of course, he never changes. Nevertheless, I stepped out when the driver opened my door and looked up at the familiarity of the place. Zooming out of the massive infrastructure, my eyes met upon the cold, piercing gaze of Tyler who stood atop the balcony. His eyes released its intenseness after seeing me? Never mind it, I looked around at all the masked people splayed around the courtyard and to the front, where the steps lead to the inside. The huge black doors were manned by tall, buffed figures in black. Before I could speak, they bowed and expressed, "Good evening, Madam Paris." Oh, they're really taking this party theme seriously. The doors opened and I quickly put on my black and blue mask. Oh, I love it, as soon as I saw it in my grandmother's treasure room, I felt drawn to it. I pulled my head up to see thick velvet curtains pulling themselves and there Tyler stood. His facial features glowed smilingly at me. My expressions quickly flew on my face as I smiled back and gave him a chaste kiss. I could tell he was not expecting this because his whole body tensed. I pulled back a little to see his face as he continued to stare at me quizzically. I pulled him to this private area I assumed was his idea of "spending time with me" after our little diner talk. Something, a vision rather coursed through me and I retaliated pushing him to the floor. I was surprised at my own strength needless to say him. I saw the glint of flashing in his eyes but he quickly turned away. I'm really not myself. The next thing I know I was hovering over him; gripping onto his jaw. I whispered, "I know, my sweet betrayer." He responded with a gasped as I felt something overtake me. I looked in the mirror behind him to see my eyes burning and glowing emerald green. Who's shocked? My smile remained unchangeable. "You- This is impossible. How- What did you do with my girlfriend?!" "You and I both know who I am. Don't play the fool. Destiny meets us here." "My love, forg-" "Save it! You should be happy this new self loves you. They always do." I scoffed at him. "Sadly, I can't control that now so I'll allow her to be...for now. Until then, happy birthday love ." I spat in sweet mockery. I found myself zoned out again and the minute I'm aware of myself, I looked up to Tyler's eyes staring down at me. He looked worried. Anyway, this was a bit awkward since I still had raw feelings left of that night. Hence, I pulled myself off him but he grabbed both my hands and engaged my lips with his. My reflexes responded quickly and pushed away; hoping he'd get the message. Out of breath, he looked at me with an unreadable expression for a good while. "Tyler happy birthday, you should have received my gift from the driver. I should go enjoy the party...you too. You know, as an old friend would say... live a little." He chuckled nervously and I smiled the best I could. I cleared the curtains out my way and now that very same menacing smile took over my face.
