Chapter 16

2007 Words
"I am very fine son ad I can see that you are too," she spoke out raising her brows while looking at his side. Gael's facial expression had changed immediately after he saw his mom's face and teasing looks. His mother has always been his confident but her behavior sometimes made him wonder whether she had finalized playing when she was young "Mom, please do not start with me this morning because I did not sleep all night," he muttered turning to look at Yvonne who was still asleep mad touching her face from time to time with her hands like a baby. Mrs. Cruz could not believe that Yvonne was still deep in sleep with all noise that she was making with her giggle. Gael's expression was that of someone whose head was no longer on his shoulders and trying his best not to be mad at the situation, he turned to his mom and asked, "Do all rich ladies sleep like her." His question was a very dump one and his mother not being able to suppress the laughter that was boiling down in her belly as it made its way to her throat, exploded laughing so hard. It was something funny because Yvonne's sleeping position was crazy and three-quarters of her body was on Gael. Asking what was funny, his mom apologized but could not stop her mouth from letting out the joy she was feeling inside so she decided not to wake Yvonne so she excused herself telling her son that she needed to brush up. Gael watched his mother leave him down there with Yvonne and to him, it was like saying that he should bear his cross alone. He dared not get angry about the situation as Yvonne looked like the kind of lady who is a cry baby and he did not want any trouble. Taking a closer look at her, he noticed that tears had formed on her eyes though she was still asleep and he could not help himself but care for her. "I don't know why I am so attracted to you Yvonne," he muttered wiping off her eyes and feeling her skin got with fever. His concern for her was more than anything he had ever witnessed with any lady before except for his mom but there he was with a heart beating for a stranger that might never want to have anything to do with him anymore. Turning from side to side as her sleeplessness was beginning to get off her, Yvonne did not normally sleep that much but it looked like the pain she was feeling in her leg was the reason she was sleeping that way coupled with the pain killers that she had taken. Gaels worry had multiplied when she began to cry in her sleep. His mother had heard it from the door just as she was about to walk inside. Yvonne's fever had added and her whole skin was burning like fire. "What is happening now?" his mom raised a question looking all scared but Gael did not know what to say. Touching Yvonne's body, she could feel how bad her skin was burning and she immediately told him that it could be as a result of the pains that she was feeling from the sprain. Calling out her name, she opened her eyes a little, and seeing Gaels handsome face in the morning, made her feel like she was dreaming. Her whole body was painting while her joints hurt as well. His mom told him to go get their neighbor who was a nurse to come check ok her, Yvonne began to call on her father's name. Turning from side to side and holding his clothing, his mother looked at it like a film thus she asked him to stay with her while she goes to call for Mrs. Caloy to come to have a check. Gael nodded and told his mother to be careful outside as it may be slippery, Yvonne's tears kept on running down. her eyes like a tap. In a panic, he took out his phone and messages Tasha about her Friends condition asking what he was supposed to do, but Tasha could not see the message as she had gone out early that morning to pick up her mother in law who had landed at the airport from the states. Holding her head in his arms, he told her that nothing was going to happen to her as long as he was with her. The fear that had surrounded his heart was something he could not push away as he only felt that once when his mother was hospitalized one time at the hospital and she was fighting for her life. Paying attention to the voice that he was heeding to outside, it was that of Marco his friend who had not seen him for some days and happened to pass by his house that morning so he decided to check on him. Entering into the house as his mother had left the door open, he was all excited calling out his friend's name with joy in his heart as he wondered who the owner of the car that was packed outside is but what he saw left him tongue-tied. "Gael, what is happening here and what is Liza doing in your house," he asked in a shocking state while going closer but Gael told him that the person he was seeing was not liza, added too that it was a long story and he was going to explain later. His mother rushed in again with Mrs. Caloy, Marco gave way and Gael sat up while holding her better. "What happened to her, did she walk under the rain of yesterday?" the lady inquired as she put down her apparatus on the ground wanting to take her temperature. Gael thinking back to the fact that rain had touched her yesterday when she was to take her bath, confirmed Mrs. Caloy's question and added that she sprained her leg, she took off the cover and noticed that the leg had swollen up. In an attempt to touch it, Yvonne's eyes had gotten clear as she screamed out of her sleep with all her strength causing Mrs. Cruz and Gael to freak out. She was trembling while sweat had settled on her forehead. Yvonne was not the type to withstand physical pain but she had been optional built to be strong due to all the things that she had seen while ground up as a young lady. Crying buttery, Mrs. Caloy told them that the sprain was bad and it was the sole course of the fever that she was feeling in her. Marco caught sight of Yvonne, he was stunned at her beauty and not being able to hold himself, he began to make signs to his friend asking who she was but Gael gave him a confused look, Marco let out a teasing smile as he had understood what he wanted to. "What do we have to do now, take her to a hospital?" Gaels mom asked but Mrs. Caloy said that she was going to give her an injection and prescribe some drugs that were going to help her. On listening to what the nurse had said, Yvonne pressed her hands more on Gael's body pushing to the limit to take herself up as she could not stand a syringe. Pleasing for them to let her go back home, Gael got furious as he asked her to stay calm and take the dosage that was to be given to her. The nurse seeing how to turn Gael was with Yvonne, teased him a little by asking, "Is this your new girlfriend, so you are truly done with Liza huh?". His stare met with Yvonne's and he answered back, " Yes, she is my new girlfriend." His response had left everyone shocked most especially Yvonne who could not believe what she had heard. If Gael wanted to get her to fall so madly in love with him, he had to start doing the little things that mattered. Noticing the confusion on her face, he held her more closely with his lips whispering in her ears as his words made their way out of his mouth telling her not to be afraid as everything was going to be over soon. Mrs. Caloy was a blab and it was obvious that she was not going to drop that conversation anytime soon. Marco had pulled the other chair and made himself comfortable while waiting for his friend to get done with what he was doing to narrate the full story to him as to how he found himself such a rich lady after saying that he did not believe in love again. Taking out the syringe from the box, Mrs. Caloy told Yvonne not to be scared as it washing to be over before she feels anything but that was not consoling enough as the fright on Yvonne's face was something else. Seeing how scared she was, Mrs. Caloy told her not to move so much as it could be fatal to her given that her skin was so soft. Yvonne tried to calm down herself but she could not and Gael's mom gave him a look, told him to do something if not she was not going to accept that injection. She was already fighting Gael when Marco burst out laughing. Asking what he was laughing at, Marco held his mouth while turning his face to look at his mom. Holding her head and turning to face him, Gael made an effort to distract her attention from the syringe that was going to pierce her skin and he was successfully doing that as Yvonne had already gotten weak from the sight of his charming eyes and the sweetness of his breath. His mom had thought of going outside to make something for Yvonne since it looked like she was going to stay at her home a little longer. She felt bad because of her condition and knowing that she was not used to the kind of environment where they lived, she had nothing to do but wish her a quick recovery. Yvonne's lips were as soft and red as that of a newborn baby and Gael looking at her straight in the eyes, took away her attention from what Mrs. Caloy was doing down there and Marco seeing how sweet his fried was with Yvonne, smiled a little feeling happy that he had finally decided to move pass whatever he was feeling for Lisa. That was a good sign and before Yvonne could notice anything else, she was lost in his stare while her heart kept on beating heavily in her chest. "What is wrong with you Yvonne, you can't possibly fall for him and you know it so resists his looks and charms because you are only going to get hurt at the end," a voice muttered in her head but she found it difficult to resist him and that was something she was supposed to avoid at all cost. Feeling a sharp pain that brought her back to her senses, Yvonne turned to look at what had happened and she was shocked with her eyes and mouth widely opened when she saw the nurse arranging her apparatus back into her medical box. Confused at what she was seeing, she said whether it was finished and Gael letting out a laugh confirmed her question. "You tricked me you i***t," she yelled out but Mrs. Caloy thanking Gael for making her work easier, told him to keep Yvonne as her love for him was so strong that he managed to control her fear just with a stare and smile on his lips. Yvonne not liking what she had said, moved her lips as she was about to contradict her words when Gael blocked it with a deep kiss that made Marco hold his head in happiness.
