Chapter 21

"I wish she never comes here again if only she could know how undesirable she is," Tasha grumbled like a little child who was forced to do something against her will. Her head was a mess and the only thing she wanted was to return home, take a cold bath, and fall on her bed while plunging into an incontrollable sleep. She wished that her husband did not have to ask her to put up with her mother's attitude just because he did not want to hurt his feelings and sometimes, she wished that he could come back into the country and stay with his mother whenever she has to come visiting. Gael was still amazed by what he was observing in her house and the decoration that was well arranged. His eyes moved quicker than a clock while his smile broadened whenever he saw something that attracted him in her house. Walking closer to the wall as he was been pulled by a portrait that Yvonne had bought in Italy, Gael could smell the moment all over the painting and he was pleased to have seen something like that so close. Asking Yvonne what the symbols stood for as he could not understand them, she stayed mute to his question making him think that she had not listened to him and turning his gaze to ask her one more time, the look that welcomed him from behind was one that he had not hoped to see that morning. "Is anything the matter, are you feeling pains somewhere or so you want me to do something for you?" he insured walking faster towards her in concern but Yvonne butting her lips and giving him a disgusting look, she muttered with her breathing puffing out hard, "Leave my house and life and never coke back." Gael was confused as to what was making her so angry, was it only because of what had happened, it is there something else behind it that she is not saying to his face.? But all these questions were not going to be answered anytime soon because she was so mad at him. He could see that Yvonne did not want to see him and it was hurting because he had thought that she saw him differently. Walking closer to her, she moved backward as though he was some kind of beast and he did not want to push things. Sounding sad and torn down in his spirit, he lowered his head and without loitering around, he said, "I will take my leave now and I wish you a speedy recovery." Gael turned and walked towards the door without stopping back and Yvonne's heart raised a million times. She wanted him to leave but she could not explain why there was a sudden feeling of sadness that bad set in her soul. Struggling to reach the door as to call Gael back, she saw no one in the corridor and her heart sank into her stomach in pain. "Why am I feeling so hurt whereas that is what I wanted which was for him to leave me alone and to leave appear again," she muttered sitting on the floor with a lick of tests falling from her eyes. Gael had entered the elevator with his head filled with queries that only made him angry but he knew that he needed to keep his calm as the man and also because he needed the money for his mother's wellbeing. Standing inside the elevator and feeling his body jerk whenever it had to stop on a floor, Gael thought about his mom and how fun she had grown to love Yvonne. "How is she going to react after I finalize my deal and she will not be able to see Yvonne again?" he asked while caressing his hair with his fingers in an attempt to find answers. Blaming himself for not being as smart as he thought, he wondered why he had to take Yvonne to his house, and the scene that came to pass in his house that morning, came back crawling its way inside his mind. "You need to calm down yourself Gael if not you are going to do crazy and you will lose everything you have thought of having from this deal," his words came out of his mouth in an attempt to self reconstruct himself from falling for Yvonne but eat he was unaware of was that, nature always finds it's way hitting hard no matter how you try to avoid it. The elevator doors were opened and he came out of them walking as fast as his left could carry him without wanting to turn back because of all the humiliation that he had received from Yvonne. Still sitting on the ground, she could not do anything as all she could think was Gael and his mom. Yvonne had not experienced so much love and petting for a long time especially from outsiders but what she had lived in that little farm settlement, was more precious than all the luxurious voyages that she had made to the most biggest and expensive countries without any pay. How can simple people who have almost nothing live such a happy life while people like her who could buy whatever they want no matter the amount of time, live miserable with nothing but their wealth to console them? The few hours that she had passed in the countryside had made her see things differently but Yvonne being as stubborn as a wall, refused to accept what she was feeling inside and convinced herself that she was just feeling that because she was from that place, she breathe in and out and said, "By tomorrow, all of these will be a thing of the past as you must have forgotten all about it girl." Feeling happy that she had forgotten about Gael and his province, she remembered that she had made a promise to his mom not to forget about her and that she intends to keep dear to her essence. She sat on the floor for some more time before waking up to go get a shower and brush her teeth. Feeling scared for her son as she knew how dangerous the city is, Mrs. Cruz thought of calling him on his cell phone but again she used for a moment as she did not wish to bother whatever thing that he might be doing. There was a smile that had settled on her face just by thinking about her son and Yvonne but she could feel that something was stopping them which she could not intervene in it. Her house had not had a visitor for so long especially such a great one that she wondered whether she was ever going to come back to such a dirty place as where they live in. "I know that she is a good girl and she is going to be a great wife so I am not bothered about a thing," her thoughts narrowed in her head before finally letting her sit down on the bench that we outside dishing out in a plate, the sustenance that she had made for Yvonne. Gael was already on his way back home and being a young man, he thought of calling his mom on the phone to say that he was going to check on the man who always gives him his taxi to drive. He has not driven his taxi for some time now as he had another job that was already been said upfront and he needed to finish as soon as possible. He had never been a playboy but the offer was too tempting for him to leave it just like that and looking out through the window, he saw a young girl and her boyfriend smooching each other by the road. His memories were filled only with Yvonne and there was no way for him to escape what he was feeling inside. Holding his head and rubbing his face, he felt that he was the one having a problem and that he was going to be the victim in all of this because he was thinking about Yvonne more than she was thinking about him and that was very dangerous for him as the hunter might become the hunted. He was almost reaching his destination so he pressed onto the taxi chair with his hand while making the most out of what was in his trouser as cash hoping that it could be enough to pay his transportation fare. Her mind was filled with anger and she was not seeing clearly. Her teeth grounded inside her worthwhile her eyes were red like chili sauce. Feeling used and abandoned, Lisa spat out her venom not to rest until she finally separates Gael and her so-called rich girlfriend. Her mind flashed back to him carrying Yvonne in his arms while her head was crowded with a frantic image of them both having hot s*x now just like what he will always do to her. Yes, she missed those moments when he will prophesy his love for her like a hundred times a day while wanting to see her at every given opportunity that presented itself. The hardness of his lower body came flashing before she and Lisa were forgetting that she was in a public place and her groaning could be heard by the next person that was sitting by her on the counter at the bar. Squeezing her hand on her dress, Lisa had entered into an uncontrollable ecstasy just by thinking about the incredible things that Gael always did to her when they were behind closed doors.
