The Alpha's Rejected Luna

CHAPTER 2

Everything felt so surreal as Mia watched Karl leave with Lisa. Her father was that one that walked up to her and picked her up. She remained quiet and still all the way home.

She was still quiet even after her father brought her to her room and dropped her on her bed. Quiet, when Celine helped her pull off her white gown and wiped her of the dirt that clung to her when she dropped to the ground. She had been like that for two days. Just lying on her bed and saying nothing.

“There's nothing really wrong with her. She is just in shock. This phase will be over soon. maybe you can just tell her things you feel like would make her want to wake up” Mia could hear a familiar voice telling her father.

“Thank you doctor” Mia's father, Gerald thanked the owner of the voice before turning to look at Mia who was on her back and staring at the ceiling.

After the door shut behind the doctor, Gerald walked over to the bed and sat down. He took Mia's hand in his, “Mia, you need to wake up. With your mother gone, you know you are the only one I have now. What will I do if anything happens to you?”

“You need to come back to your senses Mia. You can't remain here like this. Lisa is going around the pack, mocking you. She's telling everyone that she would be Karl's mate as our Luna” Celine poked Mia's face with a bony finger.

“Don't tell her that, Celine. She won't want to wake up” Gerald rebuked Celine.

She shook her head, “I think it will work just fine. I think it's even working” Celine said as her eyes dropped onto Mia's finger that was now moving.

“She's…she's coming back?” Gerald stuttered in surprise as his eyes also latched onto Mia's finger.

Mia blinked slowly as she returned to her senses. She has been drifting in a cloud of unconsciousness. She was aware of most of the movements that had been going on around her, but she couldn't bring herself to move. Celine's words triggered her to move.

“Oh my God, Mia? Thank God you are back. I was beginning to think that you were planning on staying like this on your bed forever," Celine was smiling with tears in her eyes as she tried to make light of the situation.

“Mia” Gerald called

Mia ignored her father and focused her attention on Celine, “Is what you said true? Is Karl really going to make Lisa his Luna? Did he really mark her?”

The light in Celine's eyes faded and was replaced with sorrow, “Sadly, it's true. The ceremony is tomorrow” she pursed her lips.

Mia threw the covers away and jumped down from the bed, “I can't let that happen. I have to speak with Karl. This is not what we planned”

Gerald jumped up and tried to stop her, “You can't do that, Mia. The alpha is not going to be happy. The elders tried to oppose the idea of making Lisa his Luna, but he was adamant. He has already picked her and there is nothing we can do about it”

“No one wants Lisa to be his mate. She is going to oppress the people and I can't allow that to happen. Karl loves me and once I speak with him, we will be able to solve this'' the image of Karl rejecting her in a cold tone appeared in her head, but she shoved it down along with the ache that rose in her chest.

“Karl doesn't love you enough to make you his Luna, Mia. Don't you understand? You are wolfless, and no alpha would want a wolfless mate not to talk of Karl, who feels that the most important thing in the world is power!” Gerald thundered in anger when he saw that his daughter was not listening to him.

Mia gasped in shock, and the room went silent at her father's word. Yes, she was wolfless, but she did not expect her father to day it out like that. She saw regret fill his eyes and he made a move in her direction, but she shook her head, scrambled off the bed and rushed out of the room.

Tears of betrayal filled her eyes and her chin wobbled as she rushed out of her house in the direction of the pack house. She could hear footsteps behind her, and she didn't need anyone to tell her that it was Celine rushing after her.

“Mia slow down!” Celine yelled as she ran after Mia. She has not gotten her wolf either, she was among the werewolves who got their wolf at twenty-one and her birthday was not until a few month's time. Mia has always been known for her speed and even if she was wolfless, she was still as fast as ever.

In her haste to meet with Karl, Mia did not pause when she got to the pack house and ran up the stairs. Just as she was about to enter the long hallway, she slammed into a soft body and the two of them stumbled to the hard ground.

“Oww, the f**k” the soft body moaned under Mia

“I'm sorry, I…” Mia was about to apologize when she recognized who the voice belonged to, "Lisa" she called grimly as she stood up but did not stretch out a hand to assist Lisa up.

“Where was Missy wolfless rushing to in a hurry? Are you looking for your wolf?” Lisa taunted as she helped herself from the ground.

“Don't you dare say a word again, Lisa or I swear to God….” Mia started but was immediately interrupted by Lisa who raised her chin in the air as the look in her eyes hardened.

“You are going to do what? You better watch your tone with me. I'm going to be your Luna tomorrow, and you don't want to get in my bad book's. Now, kneel and apologize for bumping into me, and maybe I will spear you”

“Kneel, you say? I would never kneel for you, and you would never be my Luna” Mia snapped. Karl might have rejected her yesterday, but she was not going to allow Lisa to walk all over her. She would find Karl and speak to him. They would find a solution together, they always do.

A wicked smirk appeared on Lisa’s face as she walked closer to Mia, who stood her ground and refused to move. Lisa might have gotten her wolf and might be stronger, but Mia was not scared of her. She has been training to become Luna for years now, and she does not bow to anyone.

“Should I tell you a secret?”

Mia wanted to ask her to shove her secret down her ass, but she found herself saying the direct opposite, “Let's hear what you've got to say”

Lisa gave an evil cackle as she walked around Mia to stand on the stairs. She leaned over to whisper into Mia's ear, “Do you think Karl was faithful during your relationship with him? Karl is someone who always had a plan B. We have been f*****g behind your back and let me tell you, he is mighty good in bed”

Mia swallowed thickly as she tried not to get affected and provoked by Lisa's words. She was sure that Lisa was just lying and saying all this to provoke her. She was not going to lose her cool or fall into her trap. Karl was faithful. He never looked at any other woman except for her.

“Oh you don't believe me?” Lisa c****d her head to the side as a sly smile appeared on her face, “If he was truly faithful, then how come he moved on so fast from you to me? He didn't even wait to think, and guess what, he already marked me and I'm pregnant for him. Little Karl is right here” smoothed her hand over her stomach where a small bulge appeared.

Mia's eyes widened a fraction as it dropped onto Lisa's stomach, “That's a f*****g lie. Karl would never sleep with you” even as the words came out, they sounded unsure, and her voice was shaking.

She quickly processed everything that Lisa had said, and she felt betrayal hit her hard. It knocked the breath out of her, and she couldn't breathe properly. She saw red as she advanced onto Lisa in a fit of rage, “You were the one who seduced him”

The expression on Lisa's face changed to one of fear, and her hands flailed in Mia's direction as if to ward her off. “I didn't seduce him. He's the one who wants me. Please don't hurt my child” she cried in fear and threw herself down the stairs.

Celine and Mia gasped in shock as they both watched as Lisa tumbled down the stairs to land on the floor in a mess of disjointed limbs. Mia snapped out of her shock when she heard a cold voice behind her.

“What the f**k have you done?”
