Austin and I were sat down on a bench in the sprawling garden of Will's family home, as I was eager to soak up some of the sun that had recently burned its way through the morning haze.
The conversation inside had also become more than a little awkward, so once we'd finished eating, it seemed like a good excuse to exit the room.
Austin had told me not too long ago, that in the event of the first heir passing, that the 'alpha blood' could awaken fully in any of the other heirs, not necessarily in the next in terms of age, but it would do so within whomever was the best to lead the pack. I wondered if this was because the majority of the training and effort usually went on the first heir, so their moon goddess did her best to pick the next heir out of who was left. Who knew.
