Furry paws walked over Abby’s face, waking her from a sound sleep. “Murph, thwiff,” she sputtered, wiping fur from her mouth. “You little imp.” The kitten winked two blue eyes at her in response. “Okay, I’m getting up,” she said, rising from under the covers with a slam of bare feet on the floor. “But first things first.” Abby went into the bathroom before heading to the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast for Seely. The furball came scampering into the kitchen, all white and pretty. A tinge of color was growing at the tip of her tail and rimmed the edge of her ears. So far, no coloring was showing on her face. “Mama’s pretty girl. Yes, here’s your breakfast,” she told the kitten as she sat the plate on the floor. She couldn’t help but give her a loving stroke as the kitten lapped up
