"She'll recover soon, Lexi." The young man sat next to her while they are both staring at Jazen, who's still unconscious after the incident last night. "And you need to rest too, you haven't slept a wink."
"I'm fine, Trev. I just couldn't find my sleep."
"Stop blaming yourself. None of us are blaming you for what happened."
"It doesn't matter, I still can't sleep knowing that she's in this situation." Lexi sighed deeply as she tore her gaze away from Jazen and shifted to Jisu, who's still sleeping on the couch in front of them. It's 6 in the morning and some of them are still asleep and it's Trevor's time to sleep because he was the one driving all night and let Blake have to sleep first. "We should stop somewhere to have breakfast."
"We all ran out of money, but we can drive around to check if we could find something to—."
"Here." Chantelle threw a thick wallet to Lexi.
"Where did you get it?" They both asked.
"Doesn't matter." Chantelle shrugged her shoulders as she plopped down next to Jisu and awakened the latter.
Lexi opened the wallet and she chuckled when she saw the ID inside. "You pickpocketed your father."
"Don't worry, he's rich. Small amount of money was nothing to him."
"What does he do for a living aside from your mom being a doctor?"
"He owned multiple hospitals around the city."
"What a rich asshole but couldn't be a father." Jisu said with her still hoarse voice.
"Let me ask Blake to pull over to a convenience store." Lexi stood up and she looked back to Jazen and smiled sadly before she continued walking away.
Trevor pulled both Jisu and Chantelle and took their place.
"Hey!" The two protest.
"I need to take a nap, my eyelids are so heavy."
"Fine, but you have to get up when the food arrives." Jisu said as she took the blanket from Siena and threw it to Trevor.
"Excuse me? I'm still sleeping?!" Siena exclaimed when she felt the blanket leave her body.
"It's 6, wake up already. We gotta start finding breakfast." Jisu said as she walked to the small built-in bathroom.
"Ugh, it's too early!" Siena whines and tries to sleep again but Iris kicked her out from the bed and she hit her back on the floor. "F-f**k!" She grunts.
"You're so loud." Iris sneered as she rolled out of the bed.
"Why are you doing this to me, Iris? I thought we're—."
"Stop being dramatic, it's too f*****g early!" Iris acted like she's going to smack Siena but she doesn't have a plan to do that, pushing her off of the bed was enough.
Blake pulled over in a gasoline station but he didn't stop in front of the pump, instead, he stopped in front of the store just in case something happened and they needed to get back in just a swift move and escape.
"Wear a cap or a hoodie if you're going out." Lexi instructed before she got out of the van and went inside the store to find some food they could eat using Chantelle's father's money.
"Aren't you going to buy something?" Blake asked Denver who's been staying at the shotgun seat to keep Trevor awake the whole night but already had his 4 hours sleep when Trevor told him to take a nap but ended up sleeping peacefully out of exhaustion.
"I don't have money." Denver replied while yawning.
"Lexi has some. You should go grab some coffee for us." Blake punched his shoulder lightly.
"They would get it for us— oh wait, I need to take that." Denver grabbed Blake's cap and put it on before he pushed the door on his side and jumped out from the camper, then he ran inside the store and headed straight to the counter. "Lex! Pay for this one too!" He yelled.
Lexi lifted her hand with an okay sign and didn't dare to look up as they were all trying not to be recognized by the staff of the shop.
Denver ran back to the camper and gave back the cap to Blake. He sat comfortably and started reading some news about them. They were on the headline of the tabloid and the news about their horrible death.
"Stupid." Denver laughed while reading the articles, the government caught Han's father but instead of getting punishment, he was awarded by the government for helping the authorities to solve their problems regarding the bunch of teenagers who committed treason in their country. "Wow, he was so lucky they didn't suspect him, but sadly, he lost another child."
"What are you saying there?" Blake asked when he noticed Denver kept talking to himself while reading the newspaper.
"These motherfuckers really believe that we are all dead and Han's father got rewarded." Denver flipped the newspaper to show Blake the pictures of the car that was pulled up from the cliff.
"What's the use of his award if he loses all his kids?" Blake sighed and shook his head. "Poor guy."
"Well, at least he got some awards."
"Who got some awards?" Lexi asked, and she stopped on Denver's side when she heard what the latter said. She was carrying a bag of groceries they needed for their journey.
"Get inside first, we can't stay long in this place." Blake said as he pointed behind him because the entrance was there.
Lexi nodded her head and she continued her way, when she got inside, Siena and Iris took all the groceries and started sorting it out while Jisu and Chantelle started preparing the ingredients they would need such as bacon, eggs and some toast.
Lexi made her way to the front to ask Denver again but just before she could utter a word, Denver spread the newspaper in front of her.
"They thought we're dead. Your plan worked." Denver said.
"That's good then. At least we could go around without being chased, but we still need to be careful." Lexi tapped their shoulders before she went back to the others. Then Jisu approached Blake this time.
"Find a place we could eat in peace, let's just stop by for a while and eat together."
"Okay, I'll just—." Blake stopped when he saw the car that's been tailing for a while now. Trevor already told him about that car, that's why he didn't want to stay long. But when they needed to stop to get groceries, that car also stopped but no one came out. "I don't think we can do that." He said and pointed at the side mirror. "That car has been tailing us for some time now."
"Do you have any idea who they are?" Jisu asked since they could see two people inside the car, one was in the driver seat while one was in the shotgun.
"Trevor said that we should ignore it, they weren't doing anything yet."
"Yet, so that means they might be planning to just follow us." Jisu said and she looked behind her. "Lex, I think we have a problem."
"It's not hard to eat in the morning without rice, that's not a problem asian woman!" Siena yelled at her.
"Dumbass! That's not what I'm talking about!" Jisu yelled back at her and rolled her eyes. "Who's not eating rice in the morning?"
"Everyone who's not asian." Denver said.
"Rice is full of protein, you guys need to eat that."
"In a certain meal, yes, but it's not mandatory to eat rice every morning."
"It's not, but at least try to eat rice once in a while." Jisu said and she turned her heels to go back inside.
"You should cook it, I'll eat." Lexi said on her way to the front and patted Jisu's head. "What's the problem?" She asked the two.
"That car is following us."
Lexi bent over to see the car clearly through the side mirror and she couldn't sense any danger about it, it looked like just driving around towards their destination and happened to be behind the camper. But when Blake slowed down, the car behind them slowed down as well.
"Pull over, we're going to exercise." Lexi tapped Blake's shoulder as she stood straight.
"What do you mean?" Denver asked confusedly.
"In our situation, there will be two options. Kill or get killed."
"So we're going to kill them? But it's daylight! There are cars passing by!"
"Then let's bring them to a place that no one is around." Lexi said.
Blake chuckled but didn't say anything because she agreed with Lexi. Kill them or they will kill you, those were the only choices for them. He glanced at the side mirror before he turned into a deserted dirty road, dust covered the car behind but it's still following them. Blake waited till it's safe to stop and he made sure that no other car would pass by on their spot.
"Are you guys serious about it?!" Denver asked, he's starting to panic.
"Just stay here if you're really that scared." Blake said as he stood up and left his seat.
Iris, Lexi and Blake are the ones who volunteered to check the car behind them while the others are just watching as the three walk towards the car with their weapons. A baseball bat, a dagger and a knife. Denver took Blake's seat at the driver's side just in case things went wrong, they really need to be vigilant always, they also didn't wake Trevor since he drove all night last night and the three could take care of the minor problem.
"Stay here." Lexi instructed and she carefully made her way to the car to see who might be in the car. "Who are you?!" She shouted, gripping the kitchen knife tightly.
Lexi stopped when the door on both sides opened and two men got out. Her eyes widened when she recognized who they were.
"Lexi!" One guy exclaimed. "I told you it was them!" He said to the driver.
"Lex, thank god you're alive!"
"Trevor's Dads?!"
