Chapter 10

Sabrina didn’t remember falling asleep though here she was, waking up to the sounds of soft cries from someone lying beside her. She opened her eyes seeing Matt’s silhouette in the dim moonlight. She pulled herself up, sitting cross legged beside him “Hey” she whispered to him. “What's wrong?” she asked

Matt’s broken voice replied shortly after her question “I'm just scared that tonight's going to be the last night I'm alive” he said

Sabrina sighed and reached out brushing a few tears from his cheeks. “I won't let that happen Matt you mean the world to me “she said

Matt sat up as well “Wait you like me more than a friend?” he asked confused

Sabrina smiled and nodded though in the dim light it would be hard to see that. “Yeah, Matt I just kind of been waiting to know if you liked me as well” she admitted

Matt chuckled a little and leaned in close to Sabrina brushing his lips against hers in a quick shy kiss. Sabrina smiled and leaned in kissing him back quickly before smiling at him again “We should really get some rest” she admitted in a yawn.

Matt and Sabrina curled up beside each other once again and this time both were fast asleep till morning.

The morning came way too soon for Sabrina’s liking. She awoke to the sounds of an argument. “We should just stay here it’s safe!” a males voice said.

“If we don’t leave now there could be more of those things up here and downstairs by the time we leave” the female voice said.

Sabrina groaned sitting up and rubbing her eyes. “God you guys could of at least woke everyone else up before you started arguing.” She stated taking a look out of one of the windows in the room that lead to the hallway “Jesus” she said taking in the view of what used to be her peers in the hall covered in blood, and other visceral. They looked as if they were just stumbling around. “So, this is real? And if it is real then we need to get out of this school and somewhere secluded” Sabrina tried to rationalize “help probably isn’t coming, at least not here” she clarified.

“What makes you the expert” came a whining voice that could only be Emma’s

Sabrina rolled her eyes running her hands through her hair a moment before looking at the she devil herself “I’m not I just know what happens in all of those movies. Help never comes and those who wait around expecting others to do everything die, so suck it up buttercup I don’t want to be with you either but unfortunately for myself I was in the same class as you when this all just happened to start” she replied with a snarky tone. Sabrina could tell Emma was absolutely livid at that point due to not only the scowl on her face but also the reddening of it.

“You know what!” Emma practically yelled “I don’t need you losers! If you all want to go, get killed then go get killed but I'm staying here and so is everyone else” she said A few others started to murmur disagreements about not wanting to stay locked in a room and wanting to actually try and make it out to get home or somewhere safe.

Sabrina smirked “Alright Emma have fun staying here all alone” she said suddenly noticing that the two teachers were no longer in the room. “Wait where is Mr. And Mrs. Hoggens?” she asked confused

With a rolling of her eyes and both hands on her hips Emma replied to Sabrina “They left to check on the library people but haven't returned yet.” she said
