On August 21, tropical storm Marco forms in the Northwestern Caribbean. It strengthens into Hurricane Marco by August 23. On August 24, it makes contact with US soil near the mouth of the Mississippi River. On August 25 it weakens to a post-tropical cyclone. Hereafter, Marco heads north. Templeton is doused with rain during the evening of the twenty-sixth and the morning of the twenty-seventh. Eight inches of precipitation is supposed to fall by noon.
