The catastrophe that brought great harm to the kingdom

The catastrophe
For thousands of years, the world had been divided between two ancient forces: the Light and the Demons. Humans lived between them, often unaware of the battles that took place beyond their sight. The kingdom of Aetheria was protected by an ancient barrier created by the Sons of Light, warriors whose power came from the first light of creation. As long as the barrier remained intact, the Demon Realm could never cross into the human world. But on the night everything changed, the sky turned black. Feng stood alone on the highest tower of the kingdom, staring toward the distant mountains. He was known as the Son of Light, though he had never understood what that title truly meant. Ever since childhood, strange golden light had appeared around him whenever he was frightened or angry. His teacher, Tangiro, had always warned him never to use that power without understanding it. Tonight, however, the light inside Feng was trembling. A low rumble rolled across the land. Feng looked up. The stars were disappearing. One by one, they were being swallowed by a massive darkness spreading across the sky. "What is happening?" Feng whispered. Then the barrier shattered. A deafening explosion shook the kingdom. Towers cracked. Windows shattered. The ground trembled beneath Feng's feet as a wave of black energy rushed across the horizon. Far away, enormous shadows began moving through the mountains. Demons had entered the human world. Feng ran down the tower steps as quickly as he could. Soldiers were rushing through the streets, carrying weapons and shouting warnings. Families were fleeing their homes while bells rang throughout the kingdom. Then Feng saw her. Wu was standing in the middle of the crowded street, searching desperately through the people. "Feng!" He pushed through the crowd toward her. "Wu!" She grabbed his arm. "We have to get out of here!" "We can't leave." "Why not?" Feng looked toward the burning horizon. "Because this isn't a normal attack." Before Wu could answer, a voice thundered across the kingdom. "FENG!" Both of them turned. Tangiro stood at the entrance of the royal courtyard. His face was unusually serious. The former Son of Light had spent years training Feng, but tonight there was fear in his eyes. "Come with me," Tangiro said. Feng followed him into the courtyard, where several warriors were already waiting. Samuel, Haochan, Caire, and San stood together, each carrying a weapon. Feng looked at them. "What is going on?" Tangiro took a deep breath. "The Demon King has awakened." Silence fell over the courtyard. Feng's expression changed. "The Demon King?" Tangiro nodded. "His name is Tang. And if the ancient records are correct, he has been waiting for this night for centuries." A strange sound echoed from beyond the walls. It sounded almost like laughter. Then a figure appeared on the distant battlefield. He was enormous, surrounded by black flames that twisted around his body like living shadows. His eyes glowed with an unnatural red light as he looked toward the kingdom. Tang's voice carried across the entire land. "The age of Light is over." The soldiers froze. Tang raised one hand. A wave of darkness crashed against the kingdom walls. The battle began. Feng felt something awaken inside his chest. Golden light erupted from his body, illuminating the courtyard. The others stepped backward in surprise. Tangiro stared at him. "Feng..." "What?" Tangiro's expression became grim. "Your power has finally awakened." Feng looked at his hands as golden energy moved between his fingers. For years, he had believed his strange ability was simply a gift. Now he understood the truth. It was a responsibility. And perhaps the reason the Demon King had come. The kingdom burned through the night. Demons poured through the broken barrier while warriors fought desperately to hold them back. Feng and his team entered the battlefield, fighting side by side as the darkness continued spreading. Samuel struck down a demon with his sword. Haochan protected the wounded soldiers. Caire moved through the battlefield with incredible speed, attacking demons before they could react. San stood beside Feng, covering his blind side. "Feng!" San shouted. "More are coming!" Feng turned. Dozens of demons were rushing toward them. He raised his hand. A sphere of golden light formed above his palm. "Stay behind me." The sphere exploded. A wave of light swept across the battlefield, forcing the demons backward. For a moment, everyone stopped. Even the demons seemed afraid. Then Tang appeared. He walked through the smoke without a single wound. His eyes met Feng's. "So," the Demon King said quietly. "The new Son of Light has finally awakened." Feng tightened his fists. "You won't destroy this kingdom." Tang smiled. "You still don't understand." He raised his hand, and the entire battlefield became silent. "This kingdom was never my true target." Feng's heart sank. Tang pointed toward him. "You are." The darkness surged forward. Tangiro suddenly appeared between them. "Feng, run!" A massive explosion separated the two sides. When the smoke cleared, Tangiro was nowhere to be seen. "Tangiro!" Feng screamed. Wu grabbed his arm. "We have to go!" Feng wanted to stay. He wanted to find his teacher. But another wave of darkness was approaching, and the kingdom was collapsing around them. With tears in his eyes, Feng finally turned away. He, Wu, Samuel, Haochan, Caire, and San escaped through the eastern gate. Behind them, Aetheria burned. The kingdom that had stood for generations was falling. And above the ruined city, Tang watched them disappear into the darkness. He smiled. "The prophecy has begun." Far beyond the mountains, something ancient opened its eyes. The first night had ended. But the greatest darkness was only beginning.
