Chapter 6

Zoe's POV

We reach the cafeteria which looks rather empty where are the students I say whispering to Ted. He smiles down at me and says "outside on the lunch park" that's nice I mused to myself. We nearing the food filling station as the line move. "So do you want to seat inside here or outside?" Ted asks . "Umm I say thinking seeing as the weather is wonderful outside I think we should do outside". I say unsure. Ted just smiles and says "perfect Kate and Mat are outside anyway". We get our food and we walk outside." You see over there the royal squad normally eats as you can see". He says as he points to a tree near lunch field where the late comers as I now call them are chilling. I make a mental note to ask why he calls them royal squad when we are seated. We continue moving as he points to the opposite table where a group of cheerleaders are seated enjoy their lunch and calls them the "slut squad". Well that self explanatory I guess. He point and tell me about each squad about 6 more he tells me about, the nerd squad, nun squad, misfit, football squad, hockey squad, the fan squad then lastly we move towards a table seating a girl with red hair about shoulder length with beautiful big brown eyes seating with a guy who look similar to Ted only his hair blonde but the eyes and facial structure is similar I assume thus is Kate and Matthew. The girl (Kate) sees us first, she shoots up yelling excitedly Ted's name to which just rolls him eyes at her then shrug at me as I look at him curiously. He then whispered "that’s Kate" I just nod with a grin of my own like a fool. Kate's excitement is just contagious and she is cute. "Hey Kate, hey Mathew" Ted mumbles placing his lunch on the table turning give Kate a hug and fist pump Mathew. "Hi I'm Kate " she says coming around to my side to give me a hug which I return with warmth before pulling back holding her at arms length while looking at her eyes "Hi Kate, I'm Zoe nice to meet you" I say. Mathew stood behind Kate pulling her back to his front then unveil his hand to me for hand shake "Hi Zoe I'm Mathew his cousin and friend" he says eye pointing to Ted. "Nice to meet you too". "Wow you are gorgeous” Kate gushed . "Thank you" I say blushing like an i***t. "So where you from?" Mathew asked with Kate on his lap as we continue to eat. I told I'm from Kingsley which is a small but affluent town. They went to ask me about my family and friends well one friend that is "that’s sad "Kate said. I just shrug and we continued exchanging information about ourselves. I found out that Mathew and Kate have been dating for 2 years now. I exchanged numbers with each of them then soon after the bell rang signalling end of lunch. We stood packing up, hugs were exchanged even with Mathew and we went our separate ways with Kate and Matthew off to maths while me and Ted go to chemistry another fav. During lunch Ted offered to drop me home instead of having my mother come pick me up since I was not driving today of which I readily agreed and quiet texted my mom telling her a friend would drop me. Chemistry class flew by real quick and so did science the last class before going home. The last bell rang me and Ted packed our stuff headed to the packing lot to meet Kate and Matthew. We talked little bit then said good bye to Mathew and Kate heading to Ted's car. “What do you want to listen to?” He asked as he fiddle with his car stereo "Passenger would be nice” I say grinning. He pauses looks at me amused "Would you look at that.... my kind of a woman" he says. He goes back to his phone, connecting to Bluetooth and the luring voice of Passenger-Let her go comes through. Ted starts the car and we are off. He already knows where I live since I told him earlier. We sing along all the way through shaking my head whilst Ted finger drums the steering wheel. We round up the gated neighbourhood and stop by the securities and I undo my seatbelt leaning to give Ted a hug goodbye before getting out, opening the back door to get my bag then I'm off waving good bye to Ted as he drives away. I turn and head to the gate get in using the code then walk towards my house. It's a 5 minute walk from the gate I reach the side pocket of my bag to take out my key when I reached the door. I know my mom is not home because she told me she was going to go pick up some groceries since I didn’t need her to pick me up after school. I opened the door, walk in then go straight upstairs to my room. I threw my bag on the bad taking off my shoes wearing my sleepers then head down stairs for something to eat. I open the fridge finding last night's leftovers popping then in the oven to warm after which I take my food then head to the dining table start eating while jamming to the fray say when I have on my earphones. After eating I place my place in the dishwasher then head back to my room to start my homework. As I’m taking out my book I hear a ping sound coming from my phone, grabbing it from my back pocket I look to see it's a text from Ted saying he is home. I quickly texted back “Glad” with a thumbs up. I also realize I have 3 more text from my friend Lisa. I decide to just give her call. "b***h where have you been?" comes the angry sound of her voice. “Sorry friend it's been a lot with the moving and everything else I'm really sorry” I apologize sincerely. I then start telling her about the city and its people the ones I've meet I tell her about my day including the friends I have made. We spend an hour talking before her mother called her. I promised to text her tomorrow or tonight after dinner. Dropping the phone I start doing my homework.
