Chapter 21- The Task Failed Again

1056 Words
Since there were no more objections, Maria declared the meeting closed.   Without so much as a backward glance, Mandy walked away from Maria’s house with Elvis. She was now thoroughly disillusioned with her family. And from now on, she and they were strangers!   “The matter has been settled, Mrs. George. The Greens has disowned Mandy. She and Elvis have been driven out.” As soon as Levi left Maria’s home, he immediately phoned Shirley to tell her the good news.   “Ha-ha-ha-” Shirley laughed, “Well done, Levi. Without the help of the Greens, Elvis must die this time!”   “Shirley, the killers my brother sent to help me have arrived. They can go to kill that son of a b***h at any time.” Kelvin said, letting one of his men wheeling him up to Shirley.   “Perfect, Lady Luck is on our side this time. Tell them to kill Elvis tonight. Oh, Simon has been awaiting Elvis’s return, hasn’t he? So as a gift to him, don’t forget to tell the killers to bring Elvis’s body here. Neither of them can survive tonight!” Shirley said, giving a satanic smile.   She had been scheming to steal George’s fortune for a long time. Only when Simon and Elvis disappeared in the world could she really become the head of the house!   “Well, I’ll comply with your request, ” Kelvin replied, and then laughed hysterically.   …   “Your Grace, Kelvin has arranged for two killers to take action tonight.”   By the time Elvis arrived home with Mandy, he got a text message from Martin. As he looked at the phone’s screen, a faint sneer crossed his face.   “Sorry, Mandy, I have some urgent business to attend to.” With those words, he headed for the place Martin had told him at once.   “Good evening, your Grace.” At the sight of Elvis, Martin went down on one knee and greeted him with stiff formality.   “Just stand up. Let’s dispense with the usual formalities,” said Elvis.   Upon hearing Elvis’s words, Martin stood up. Then he went and stood beside Elvis, waiting for the arrival of the two killers.   After a long time, light footsteps could be heard in the distance. The sharp hearing helped Elvis immediately detect the movements of those two killers. ‘They were indeed first-class killers, but so what? They were no match for him.’ Elvis sneered in mind.   Taking a step forward, he moved stealthily, without a sound and when he approached those two killers, he was as fast as lightning. And in the blink of an eye, he appeared in the killers’ line of sight.   Shocked by what they saw, the two heavily armed killers broke out in a cold sweat.   The two of them had been observing around. But even then, Elvis had appeared in their line of sight without warning.   They had carried out numerous missions abroad and even assassinated several senior officials. But they had never encountered anything weird and terrifying like this.   When the two killers were still rooted to the ground with fear, Elvis sprang to his feet with surprising agility, aiming kicks at their limbs.   With several sounds of the bone splits, all the four limbs of the two killers were broken. The next moment, they overbalanced and toppled backward onto the earth, uttering a cry of agony.   Elvis walked up to them, forced them to open their mouths and checked carefully. After making sure there was no poison hidden in their mouths, he dislocated their jaw in case they would commit suicide.   After Elvis had finished all this, Martin came panting up to him.   “Martin, try all means to extract everything they know from them,” ordered Elvis.   “You can rest assured that I’ll complete it.” Martin gasped.   Few could rival him for or in stamina. But Elvis had moved so fast that no matter how hard he had tried, he had failed to catch up with him. And when he arrived at the scene, it’s all over.   Martin dragged the two paralyzed killers aside, and soon there came the bursts of awful screams.   Within minutes the awful screams died out, and Martin easily wangled the information out of them.   “Well, it’s time to have the end of it.” After learning the information from Martin, Elvis said coldly. The rage in his eyes even made Martin’s blood run cold.   That night, to celebrate the upcoming victory, Shirley held a grand celebration at the George’s. Not only did she dress in a gorgeous dress, but she did make herself up on purpose.   She was middle-aged but still slim and attractive. Kelvin couldn’t take his eyes off her and soon had an erection. But at the sight of his maimed legs, rage bubbled just below the surface of his mind. He was anxious to see Elvis’s body at once.   Levi and Kelvin’s men were all in the banquet hall, excitedly celebrating the upcoming victory. However, as soon as Shirley appeared, they stood motionless as if stunned, following her with their eyes.   Quite enjoying the feeling of that, Shirley weaved her way through the milling crowds, exchanging toasts with them.   “Shirley? Are you there, Shirley?” Awakened by the noise outside the room, Simon gasped.   However, there was no response. He had to push himself laboriously out of the bed and waddle to the door, trying to know what’s going on outside.   But when he had just walked out of the room, he bumped into a man. And the man was none other than Daniel.   “Who are you? And how are you able to get into my house?” asked Simon angrily.   “I didn’t expect you to walk out of the room yourself. But so what? It’s all over now. You can’t change anything.” Looking at Simon with disdain, Daniel laughed smugly, “Listen up, I’m the successor to you as the chief executive of Vanguard Group!”
