Chapter 19- Elvis Wanted To Ruin The Greens?

1157 Words
“I’m sorry sir. Our shop is closed during repairs. Please come another day instead.” An employee of Greens Jewelers said to Levi, stopping him and his men from breaking into the shop.   “Get out of my way! I’m here to collect a debt. Tell Gordon to see me right now. Today he must give me the 8 billion dollars he owes me!” Levi exclaimed impatiently, pushing away that employee.   Leading his men into Greens Jewelers, he pulled over a chair and sat down. In fact, before Levi had joined Vanguard Group, he had used to be a member of a local mafia. Because he was quite good at polishing the apple, he had been promoted to the manager of Vanguard Group by Shirley.   Upon hearing Levi’s words, that employee felt a shiver of shock. Never daring to delay a moment, he immediately informed Gordon of it.   Gordon was in a state of shocked disbelief on being told it. He had no idea of why Levi asked for 8 billion dollars liquidated damages.   “What’s this bullshit? Why did you say that I owe 8 billion dollars to you?” Gordon shouted at Levi, thinking the latter was trying to stir up trouble there.   “Damn it! How dare you speak to me in this manner?” Levi stormed. He stood up and kicked Gordon down to the ground. He grabbed Gordon’s hair, forcing the latter to look at the screenshot of Elvis’s text message, and warned, “Look! I have abundant evidence to prove it. If your family doesn’t repay the money today, I’ll kill you first!”   A fit of dizziness overcame Gordon, blurring his vision. And it was some time before he could see clearly the message.   “It’s not true. It’s quite Elvis’s own idea. It has nothing to do with my family!” Gordon yelled.   “Well? Are you trying to repudiate the debt? I’m warning you, I’ll kill you if you dare to make any tricks!” Levi snarled savagely. He drew a military dagger and nailed it to the ground right in front of Gordon.   Looking at the military dagger, Gordon uttered a heartrending cry, his tears and snot coming down.   “Spare me! Please spare me! I’ll phone Mandy up and find out what’s going on.” Gordon begged.   He hurried to take out his phone with his trembling hands and dialed the number.   “Will you please tell me what the hell is going on, Mandy?” He demanded angrily.   “What are you talking about? What’s going on?” Mandy asked, quite confused.   “Mandy, just let me talk to him.” Elvis took Mandy’s phone from her, and sneered, “Do you regret what you have done, Gordon? I’ve warned you I would make you repay a ten-fold.”   With those words, he directly hung up the phone.   “Damn it! You must be crazy, Elvis!” Gordon yelled at the top of his voice. He crumbled to the ground, infinite fear and remorse welling up in his heart. He hadn’t expected Elvis to be so crazy that he even wanted to ruin the Greens.   “Well, now that you’ve finished the call, are you going to pay the debt?” Levi asked, pulled his military dagger out of the ground and raised it threateningly before Gordon’s eyes.   “Let’s go to my grandma. She must have a solution to it!” Gordon begged.   “I don’t care who you ask for help. You must pay the debt today anyway, or I’ll cut your throat!” Levi warned.   In front of Levi, Gordon didn’t dare to resist at all. Not daring to make any tricks, he had no other choice but to lead Levi to Maria’s home.   “Please help me, grandma! Elvis has placed our family in a difficult position! He wants to ruin our family!” As soon as Gordon got to Maria’s home, he knelt beside Maria and caught her hand in both of his, crying.   “Hello, Mrs. Green, nice to see you again.” Levi followed Gordon into the living room and said, playing with his military dagger.   “Why are you here again?” Maria spluttered and howled with rage.   ‘Elvis had gone to negotiate with Shirley, hadn’t he? So why was Levi here again?’ Maria wondered.   But when she thought of what Gordon had just said, she felt a wave of panic.   “Since you’ve broken the contract, I’m here to ask for the liquidated damages.” Levi shrugged.   “What’s all this about, Gordon?” Maria asked, forcing herself to calm down.   After having learned the ins and outs of the matter from Gordon, Maria went deathly pale. For a long while, she remained speechless.   Then, she dialed Mandy’s number, and stormed, “What are you trying to do, you son of a b***h? Are you going to ruin our family? Don’t forget that you’re one of us! Come to my home at once!”   Mandy soon had a grasp of what was going on. She turned to Elvis and asked, “Why have you done this, my dear?”   She believed that Elvis would never do anything to hurt her. Therefore, there must be his reason for doing so.   “Trust me, darling. I’ll never do anything to hurt you. Just let me talk to your family later.” Taking Mandy in his arms closely Elvis consoled her.   Mandy’s family had repeatedly insulted the two of them, so it was time to make them pay for it!   “You’ve guessed right, Mrs. George. It’s quite Elvis’s own idea. Now the Greens are frantic with worry.” Levi secretly phoned Shirley, reporting to her on the way things had been going.   He knew from the beginning that the Greens were unable to afford such a large amount of liquidated damages. After all, even the Smiths, the most powerful family in T nation, could hardly afford it.   So as soon as he had been ordered by Shirley, he had understood how to deal with the matter. He knew clearly Shirley’s real intention was to place Elvis in a difficult position.   Shirley was extremely pleased upon hearing Levi’s words. As expected, the deep contradiction existing between Elvis and the Greens finally broke out.   “Good work, Levi. You must make Elvis homeless this time!” Shirley said, simmering with resentment towards Elvis.
