Chapter Fourteen

 Lucious' Pov

I know that they had gone off this way but my pull was trying to drag me a different way all together. I decided to drop all other senses and follow the pull. I ended up running towards the on the way to the cabin. It was an odd choice since he took off with her in the opposite direction.

Remember little brother you can't smell her so she may not be where you think. I heard David say on my head.

That was a wolf trick how did he do that? I don't understand what's going on. I do, however, know that I need to get to Zera. If anything happens to her I will kill David and Braiden myself. She is my other half and nobody is going to take her away from me.

I ran for about 45 minutes before I made it to the clearing. I crouched behind a bush that lined the trees on the south side of the clearing. I saw what looked like a white tiger shifting back into it's human form. It was Zera. She was a distance from Braiden and I could barely hear what was being said. Something about transforming into a wolf, she doesn't think she has one. She followed his instructions and what she shifted into was a massive wolf with tiger marks but her colors looked like they belonged in the sky.

About the time I was about to come out of my hiding spot I heard her growl. My eyes snapped to Braiden reaching into his pocket. I jumped out of the bush at the same time as a jet black wolf. He rushed her as I rushed him completely forgetting about her father and whatever he had pulled out of his pocket. I don't even think they noticed us. They were still talking when the wolf and I clashed. Next thing I knew there was a flash of light throwing us both back several feet and Zera was between us. She was an alpha's alpha and a head's head.

She shifted back and yelled, "Stop fighting! I don't want any fighting, not tonight." She was crying.

I quickly shifted back and went to comfort her at the same time as that damned dog. Which only made things worse for everyone. "So what I thought was true." I heard Braiden say from behind me. "Because she has two animal spirits she has two mates. Which life do you choose?" He asked as he came up to comfort her himself.

"I can't choose. I don't know anything about what I am or what would happen." She said crying.

"You are a special girl and the first alpha's alpha female in existence. If you choose neither but still want a love life we can always do as our two species have done and you can marry for peace among us. I will not choose for you my little princess." He said as he held her.

"I don't believe this. You were testing her and since you brought out her wolf this damn dog thinks that he can have her. She was my soulmate before she knew she was a shifter. I have loved her since they day we met." I said knowing that I wouldn't be her choice, because a wolf's call on the body to mate is much stronger than a tiger's.

She looked like her spirit was broken and I knew that I had lost. I turned to walk away as the moon filled the sky. Just when I thought I was done for I looked back one last time to see the light connecting us was so bright. I was almost blinding. The wolf was getting mad because he wanted his mate, but he also doesn't know that he would have to patient with her. No wolf knew about what had happened to her. He went into a fit of rage.

"MINE! She is MY mate not yours little kitten. Her body belongs to me. I will kill you and claim her as my own." The dumb dog spit at me.

"When did puppies start emulating llamas?" I asked getting him a little more riled up so he would mess up again and show her what he really was. "Look I don't want to fight, because my love asked me not to. I would never betray her trust by writing of her requests. So please just be rational and take a deep breath." I said calmly, as calm as i could be with a rabid dog ready to rip my throat out.

"The b***h is mine, p***y cat, now run home with your tail between your legs. Be the p***y you are and turn tail. We don't even need your kind. She is wolf and she is mine." His voice was full of venom, but what pissed me off wasn't his voice it was what he called her.

"Do you even know her name? You think you would be able to tame an alpha's alpha? You don't even look like you could tame a bunny you bought from a pet shop. Zera is my soulmate and she is the only woman for me. She is tiger and wolf and I will love her no matter what animal she takes on. I love all of her not just part." When I got that last word out I felt something enter my chest. It was as fast as a bullet but it was as big as a missile. Before it could go very deep I grabbed the wrist attached to the bastard that hit me. It was Max King of the Wolves. He must have followed that dumb llama pup.

All I heard was Zera scream as everything went black and I was on the ground yet again.

Zera's Pov

I was trying not to run away as the two boys fought over who was going to be my mate. When all of a sudden a tall scary man showed up and plunged his fist into Lucious' chest so fast there was no stopping him. "NNNNOOOO!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs sending birds flying into the air. I dropped to my knees and started to cry. My father let me go and stepped in front of me.

"You can't touch my daughter. I won't allow you to hurt her again." He said as the stranger turned my way.

"So the little b***h escaped from Emanuel, huh? Oh well that doesn't mean anything to me just that he got careless with the merchandise." He leaned to the side to see around my father and look at me. "Where is your mother? He bought you both 18 years ago. What did he do, f**k her to death?" He laughed and I felt sick.

"You Bastard, you took my family away from me and sold them to that monster?" My father said his voice thick with tears. "You knew that he was a murderer and a rapist. Yet you sold my family to him."

"Well yeah she was no good and that thing you are hiding behind you is worthless. He was willing to pay and I was willing to sell. So was I right?" He asked me the question but everything else was to Braiden. "All that little thing behind you is good for is pleasure. She's probably still tight and slick. I'm getting hard just thinking about it."

"That's your granddaughter you sick bastard. What is wro-" He was cut off.

"Wrong boy. I'm not your father so she isn't blood to me. I could always make her my breeder and my bloodline can keep the throne." He said with a grin. "I defeated your father in a duel for the title of king and when I was going to kill you your mother begged me to stop. She did everything except provide me with my own heir." He started walking towards us and I was petrified.

Shift and get that boy home where his mom can hopefully save him. I will handle Max. My father said in my head. Now shift and go.

Just that fast I shifted and used my wolf's speed and powerful jaws to get Lucious home. The run wasn't that long, but I hadn't thought about the fact that I was a huge wolf running into the streak home. All at once they had silver weapons trained on me. I slowly put Lucious on the floor and shifted back. Weapons hit the floor and everyone jumped to help.

David caught me by the arm and dragged me to the kitchen where we were alone. "What the hell happened? Nobody was supposed to get hurt. I was just a test, I was promised that nothing would happen to him." He yelled accusingly at me.

"It was Max, he showed up out of nowhere and he attacked when Lucious was defending me from my wolf's mate. I didn't even smell him until it was too late." I started crying.

David hugged me to his chest and said, "He must have come from down wind. I'm sorry for yelling and I didn't mean for it to sound like I blamed you. I don't."

"So the little b***h is a w***e too. No matter I will break her of that." Max said from the back door. He was so fast that David didn't have time to try and defend. Before I knew it I wasn't in the kitchen with David anymore I was being carried to the mountains again.

I screamed as loud as I could. I felt a hand connect with my butt through my sweat pants. "If you don't stop I will take you on top of the mountain rather than waiting until I got you to my lair. I like to call it the dungeon. None of the other girls have been able to satiate me or survive two nights. I hope for your sake that you are different.
