She woke up two hours later, a rabid thirst drying her throat and lips. The baby constricted her chest where she’d fallen asleep on her back. Her arm stuck out sideways, the muscle numb and painful. A strange wetness coated her armpit.
Jas’ dark curly head rested against her and he dribbled through the gap between his lips and thumb. An action figure’s legs dug into Hana’s side. She shifted, sensing an imminent need for the bathroom. Jas stirred and rolled over onto Logan’s pillow, leaving Hana to haul herself into a sitting position.
